the dough won't rise
without the yeast
the plow won't pull
without the beast
the weather is a factor
when you fire up your tractor
so turn your cap
to gap the sun
and make some food
for everyone
I thank you for your labor
when my fork is filled with flavor
and though your truck
drives way too slow
to check your fields
and how they grow
I know
your ceaseless summer work
supplies me with an autumn perk

supplies me with an autumn perk
Read the last line with out my glasses
Thought it said Aluminum Pipe...
Had to answer before it passes

Thought you were going to start
making love to a Japanese robot
Didn't know you were that lonely
Had to fondle a cold metallic part

Had to fondle a cold metallic part
Neither were warm nor cold
So we tried to learn
We were misunderstood

Let me help you
It’s called a puzzle
The biggest challenge is the
One called LIFE

Always a piece missing
It’s called living
Don’t you ... for I do
Play unto death?

Play unto death
The mouse trap
Agatha Christie cried
And the mirror cracked from side to side
The curse has come upon me..
Pride
And falling in that vacant pose
And holding out a blackened rose
Sweet poison with a fainting smile
To hide away the ghoul...and guile
Beguiled they be
And fall must he
Who finds his way to heaven

The blood upon the sleeve be hidden
The sword so raised still moves..unbidden
And all the children surely cried
As the latest hero kissed his bride

As the latest hero
kissed his bride
Jumped on his horse
and away he did ride

Would have rather
jumped her bones
instead of his steed
and done the deed.

vTell the "Mods" to call a cop
Don't know why
it got "stuck"
Just a case of dumb luck

Just a case of dumb luck
had to get gas for the old pick up truck
filled it up for a fortune it seems
But it was worth more than my wildest dreams
I went in to pay the fellow, and just on a whim
I asked for a lottery ticket from him
Who would have thunk it, who was to know
this was the one that would finally show
trust in intentions has proven to be
the way to create the very best life for me.

the way to create the very best life for me.
Every thing you write sounds so happy
I got a hunch this was meant to be
from the radiant smile on your face I see

from the radiant smile on your face
i see
the glow in your heart
sending warmth and wisdom
thru your words
touching all who sees

touching all who see
when eye thought this thread
might be dead
and then what would he
do?
True
we have to keep it going
knowing
he needs us
or he'll fuss
can't be too much
to keep in touch

To keep it,
To hold it infinitely.
We spread our dreams in finite lines,
Gathered close the crayons of our youth.
We desperately seek to stay within the lines.
However falter, and fail we do, as we did in youth.
In truth, we never had to stay between the lines.
We merely chose to.
It is our faith to believe that which is impossible possible,
and from those ideals and dreams spread forth our truth.
Our truth..our denials..our beliefs.
In my head, the dreams are always the same.
Your disdain and my love askew.

Your disdain and my love askew
Sat opposite each other, catty-corner,
Waiting for a word, a touch, a thought
To build a bridge from me to you.

to build a bridge from me to you
i am red and you are blue

i often wonder how opposites attract
we love each other then attack

when we are mean it is horribly sad
yet when we make love i am so very glad

yet when we make love I am so very glad
imaginary physical pleasures touched sad
unfelt heart to stroked physical pleasures lust
unbroken paths yet to building friendship trust
'tis that your knife found in perceived lover's back?
that for whom declared in hyphochrysy never attack?
discarded thoughts and learning old tainted taught
trinkets of monetary and society encouraged bought
Climb aboard motorcycle hearts to the wind throttled
Each embraced expressions of soul free unbottled

Each embraced! Expressions of soul free unbottled
unseasoned to every taste
throttling biodegradeable fuel
through the veins of aged vines
birthing a Hybrid to clear the smog
Drinking only of the aged wine from sour grapes

Refining the aromatic brew
a touch of salt and turn of the screw
knowing when and what to do
is all important until we're through

Toss those troubles in a corner
its simply enough just to warn her
temperature is rising with the sun
pressure is surprising everyone

are you having fun
on the run
with that gun
son?

Do you think you are the one?
when had that begun?

Think I'll have some ham and cheese on a bun
while that whisper of love comes across with a hum
just before she strums another cord
introducing ideas stronger than a sword

oh how I adored the play on words
we once heard in diatonic harmony
watching a marching army of colours
signalling distant mystery within reach of modern history

there's a certain magic in that recipe

There is a certain magic in that recipe
One part love
Two parts humanity
Just a dash of good intentions
Mixed ever so cautiously
With patience and diligence
Warmed over a low flame
Set but to simmer ever slowly
Yet inevitably burning out of control
The carnage left behind within the smoke
Becomes both clearly and painfully apparent
As a meal intended to serve two
In the end seemingly only serves one
Though still a dish best served cold

Though still a dish best served cold
divided amongst friends I’m told
for if you learn to truly share
there is more joy in giving than is fair
you are never one when you live within
families are created where ever you’ve been
maybe in this life you may travel alone
from the time you are little to the time you are grown
meeting strangers along the way
who become friends if only for a day
maybe what I’m trying to state
I could be looking for my soul mate
perchance if he never comes my way
I will always have love and its ok
what more could I ask for
what more could I say

what more could I say
I would not break
the bonds
of our silence
when we should silence
our minds
hush
between us
words
have never been
necessary

words
have never been
necessary

wrapped in
comfortable silence
we smile

to the rhythm
of beating hearts
i drift gently
into peaceful
slumber

only to wake from my dream

Only to wake from my dream
In a very cold sweat
clutching my pillow
nearly half to death

Still got the shudders
my throat still dry
Scream stuck in my throat
Too scared to cry

Too scared to cry
Too scared to go back to sleep
get out of bed , go take a leak
Go to ice box to get a drink
What is that in the kitchen sink?
I know I did dishes before I went to bed!
Do I want to look?

Do I want to look?
After reading a book
about "Intruders" and
strange things that go
"Bump in the Dark"

Maybe you should
look under the bed
or in the shed
Just the thought
makes the hairs
stand up on your head
