It looks the coaching search in Ann Arbor is finished with the supposed hire of WVU's Rich Rodriguez. I think this will be a good hire for the Wolverines.

Maybe now they'll be able to stop those pesky spread offenses!!

Niteowl..With the speed that Michigan recruits the spread will work nicely especially in the Big 10. I wonder how this will turn the tide with recruiting.

UM lost a QB commtiment yesterday to Iowa with the coaching change, but Pryor, the number 1 ranked QB in the '08 class , and considered a WVU lock has put UM on his short list because of this coaching hire.

I think it will take a little while to get his type of player in place, but with the Michigan name on his chest (and the name recognition that the Wolverines carry) , and the type of offense that he runs, it should make for a very interesting transition period in Ann Arbor.

Niteowl..I graduated from Cypress Fairbanks here in Houston where Sam Mc Guffie hails. You guys are getting a quality running back in him. You might remember him last year in the Youtube video hurdling an opponent. This guy is a stud!

There have been rumors that McGuffie was a soft verbal lately, so with the new coach set, I hope that he does indeed stick around. He does look like a great prospect.

Mc Guffie was one of the leading rushers in the city this year while missing 4 games to a high ankle sprain. That is an awesome feat in itself in a city that is a hot bed for high school talent. This guy carries over a 3.5 GPA so you won't have to worry about him inn the classroom & you alos wont have to worry about" off the field " issues with this young man. I spoke with a friend who is in sports talk radio here & he said Mc Guffie is still headed to AnnArbor. You know the rest of the Big 10 is NOT looking forward to defending the spread/zone read.

What is Hawaii's chances against Georgia?
Is Hawaii over-rated?
Will Hawaii have extra motivation, being underdogs by about 8 points?

My Longhorns seem to be a bit energized this evening..That said, Az St is known for their second half comebacks.

Superman:
There is one team in the BCS CG with one loss (OSU)
There is one team in the BCS CG with two losses (LSU)
(drumroll)
>>>the loser of this title game will have two losses.
They will have made the BigTen proud to have gone to the title game.

I'm a huge SEC fan. I'm hoping Georgia stomps a mud hole in Hawaii and that LSU makes Ohio State look silly for the 2nd straight year. Don't get me wrong...OSU is a good team. I wish they would have strengthened their schedule to reflect that. The first 7 games of the season they blew out their competitors like it was a scrimmage...well into conf. play! So i was a little dismayed to see the Big 10 get, what I think, are some very undeserving games. Not to mention a few other teams. Instead I'd rather see these games to name just a few:
Missouri vs. USC
Illinois vs. Hawaii
Georgia vs. VTech/Kansas

What do you guys think??

I don't know if Arkansas still has that momentum from the LSU game after such a long layoff.
Think Missouri has more weapons both offensively and defensively.
McFadden will have to have a huge game, as he did against LSU, for the Razorbacks to win.

Gemini....

So far the SEC is 4-0 and proving how tough they are. Big Ten is 2-2. They will play the Big Ten head to head in 3 games:

FL/MI
TN/WI
LSU/OSU

Let's see, but if the Big Ten wins a couple of those games against the top SEC teams, I'm gonna be callin' you out....

Anvar, in addition, there should be some good ones today
....GA v Hawaii today ought to be a good one for measurement sake, plus Ark/Mizzou.
GA v HA I find is REAL interesting (not only to push the local SugarBowl) because Hawaii is the equivalent (to me) of La Tech getting in a BCS bowl, after largely a weak schedule, but they ARE undefeated, for the time being.
HA is going to be real motivated, but my assumption is that they don't have the talent, despite having some big Polynesian type guys.
GA's motivation might be "these HA guys really think they are going to whip us".

I see about
GA 31
HA 10

Should that occur , message 289 ^ up there will be settled.

Yeah, they always have to have a cinderella "feel good" team in there, especially after the Boise St/OK game....(I didn't think OK was that good anyhow).

I guess it will be interesting to see how Colt Brennan does against good competition.

I can't help but reflect on the comment by "flthymcnsty" on 11/26/07,
in which he says:
"the beauty of it is that the big east champion and the big ten champion will play for the championship right in the sec's back yard and there ain't a damn thing the overhyped conference can do about it"
--------
my comment:
1) it aint gonna be the BigEast champ
2) there are several BigTen/SEC matchups in the next few days, and we will see if, indeed, the SEC is "overhyped".

Lloyd Carr goes out a winner. Have to give Mich credit, they started out with 2 horrible losses and ended up one of the better teams in the country.

Nice to see Michigan sent Carr out a winner......if not for 3 turnovers inside of the 1 yard line they could have put 60 on the board today!!!
