Don't count Mike Hart out yet for the Heisman.
2 more Michigan wins and 2 great games from Hart and the Heisman is his.
But they must win and he must be great.

The person who is going to win the Heisman is Dennis Dixon. He has been a great player this year.

A very sad day today is going on down in Miami. It's the last college football game to be played in THE ORANGE BOWL.Folks think of all the history played in that stadium.

Just in college football.
1.The last game that Ara Parsegian(?)coached ND
2.The midget Doug Fluitie threw the pass over defenders that won him his Heisman
3.Untold number of National Championships won and lost
4.Tom Osbrone of Nebraska going for two points and the win not a tie in the 84 ORANGE BOWL GAME.That gave Miami the first of five Championships(As a Miami fan thanks for having the guts to go for two and not one point)
5.58 home game winning streak that still stands as a NCAA RECORD
There is alot more i could mention on the college side

Pro Football
1.Five Super Bowls
2.The last stadium that Vince Lombardi coach the Packers
3.Broadway Joe running off the field with that index finger in the air after beating the Colts in Super Bowl 2.That game said the AFL could play with the NFL
4. The home field of the only undeafted untied team in NFL history
5.The great catches Lynn Swann made for the Steelers in Super Bowls 10 and 13(I was at Super Bowl 13)
6.Another game i was at the playoff game between San Diego and Miami. The hook and ladder play with the pass thrown to D.Harris with Tony Nathan taking the pitch back to him just before the half. That got Miami back in the game after being down 24-3 only to lose 41-38 in double overtime
I could go on and on with the Pro's

New stadiums are nice but we are losing LIVING HISTORY

This is really an odd year for college football.

Which in my opinion, is sort of cool.

I get so sick of those certain teams that usually always win.

Will the number 1 team at the end of the year have at least a few losses?

At the very least, it makes it more interesting...

couple observations....

irish got beat again, not only got beat, but got drilled again. I hate the irish, I make no bones about it...just curious if irish fans want that 10 year contract back?....Its sure obvious that tom brady needs charlie wies, man...he is really struggling this year....

3 teams in the big 12 are inthe top 5 of the bcs...although kansas needs to play somebody, still very good football teams....

ohio state losing at home to a pretty good illinois team just proves to me that there are no GREAT teams in college football this year...

I still do and always thought that lsu was the best team in the country...they are gonna have to survive the sec championship game and should make it thru.... who they play is a toss up...but what a season....

Its been said a thousand times before..but just imagine a playoff system.....lsu, ou, kansas, oregon, mizzou, ohio state.....tell me that wouldnt be fun to watch....

DOWN WITH THE BCS!!!!!

It's the last college football game to be played in THE ORANGE BOWL.Folks think of all the history played in that stadium.
I've been a big football enthusiast for most of my life; and some of my best birthday memories (I'm a New Year's Day baby) are of watching the Orange Bowl. It always seemed like that particular game -no matter who was in it- was usually the most exciting one of the day...and that all seemed to change when the Orange Bowl (game) left the Orange Bowl (stadium). ProPlayer was meant for just that Pro Players, not college; I always loved the intimacy of the old stadium...I swear I could feel the TV actually shaking from all the cheering going on!
One of my all-time favorites was about 10-12 years ago(?)-Notre Dame and Florida State. What an atmosphere! The FSU fans were doing the "Tomahawk Chop," the Seminole band was playing that Drums Along the Mohawk song(?); Notre Dame's band was playing their fight song-and two old masters of the game, Bobby Bowden and Lou Holtz, were prowling the sidelines, exhorting their teams on...ND was down by 14 at the start of the 4th quarter, but came back to win it in dramatic fashion. How did they win? Couldn't tell ya; what I remember was the drama, the passion, and the feeling of wishing I was there.
I don't think I was able to go to sleep that night! So long, OB-you'll never be forgotten.

I told alot of my friends yesterday that Arkansas was going to be LSU. Lets see LSU will not playing for a national title and I am happy about that. I was never a LSU fan ever but they do have great players. I was happy to see Southern Cal Won. Have a great night.

In Post 201 i said that 323 yard game was against FIU.Not a SEC school so he had a good game against LSU.How did he do against the other SEC teams? There were several games less then 100 yards.
Saying all that if the NFL Draft was today my NFL team would have the 1st pick and i would take him with it.We have another SEC back that SUCKS!!!Ronnie Brown

Dear darling DB,
It's okay to allow a Razorback to celebrate. ;) I think he'll rank high.

"McFadden, last year's Heisman Trophy runner-up, has 1,725 yards rushing this season, breaking the school's single-season record he set last year"

http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=27815&SPID=2164&ATCLID=1325579&DB_OEM_ID=5200

I hope they don't overlook LSU's guys. They played hard, too.

if your a dolphins fan the promblem is not just ronnie brown, your whole team sucks does not seem right to pin it on just the running back, most backs that come out of the sec are atleast soild backs, besides in the last 5 years or so the sec has produced a 2000 yard rusher ( jamal lewis ) and a mvp ( s . alexander ) can a other conference say that?

Ronnie Brown is part of a whole team that SUCKS!!! Brown does best when he has another back to take the load off of him. He'll never be a feature back like Lewis or Alexander. From our owner on down to the last of the 53 players. The Head Coach was a failure at Indiana and is nothing more then a average Off.Cord.

Used to go to the Ornage Bowl Game all the time. The best times in the motor home parking lot was the year Lou Holtz brought the "HOGS" down and beat the Sooners.Hog calls every hour on the hour and lord you couldn't go around with out a drink in your hand.

Great win by Arkansas.
Who will be the next Michigan coach?

My bet is Les Miles

Thanks, Kaos. It was, wasn't it?

DB, I'm sorry, man.

Had the Razorbacks have lost to LSU, we would have lived, but we would have class about it.

What's the problem?

And Lou? Okay...if memory serves me correctly, he did to the Razorbacks exactly what Sabin did to LSU. I didn't think it was classy when Lou did it, I didn't think it was classy when Sabin did it. I also didn't feel that Miles showed any class over the course of the last week, ragging Arkansas as Ar-kansas & slamming us after the win.
"We have more important games to play" ?

The Hawgs came to play & play they did. Neither team played to perfection, but the Hawgs came out top, in THREE OTS none the less. Didn't they?

you sec fans can lose what you want when you want, but teams that play real football will tell you what you lost, and that is the national championship. sec my ass.

instead of les miles worrying about how "easy" USC has it in the pac 10...maybe he should start worrying about beating people in his own conference...

I have been trying to tell you sec fans that the pac 10 is every bit as good TOP TO BOTTOM as the sec....

Do you beleive me now?

I have been trying to tell you sec fans that the pac 10 is every bit as good TOP TO BOTTOM as the sec....

you are crazy, the sec could put 10 teams into the bowl games,is the pac10 doing that, also all lsu loses were to other RANKED sec schools, not unranked teams allah usc.since the bcs has been around how many differnt pac10 schools have played for the title, one ( proabley one of the better teams in the last 20 or so years ) , but just one! the sec has had 3 differnt schools win and one that got scrwed out of a chance, last point do you realize that the people that will most likely finish one and two in the
heisman are not even on the best teams in the sec, the pac10 is a good conference, just not as good,ok one more point look at the # of players drafted in the nfl from the 2 conference, thats all

well....considering the pac 10 only has 10 teams...pretty sure they are not gonna send the whole conference to bowl games...logic...

also all lsu loses were to other RANKED sec schools, not unranked teams

really hate to break this to you...kentucky and arkansas are currently NOT RANKED....

kentucky was 1-5 against RANKED teams....

I actually think LSU is pretty damm good...they just ran into mcafadden and he wasnt gonna let the razorbacks lose....

last point do you realize that the people that will most likely finish one and two in the
heisman are not even on the best teams in the sec,

so?...what the hell does that have to do with being the best player in the country?...you have to be on a good team to win the heisman?....is that your point?...it SHOULD be the best player in the country...but some like to make it the most VALUABLE to his team...(wink wink tim tebow)...but we shall see...

ok one more point look at the # of players drafted in the nfl from the 2 conference, thats all

i get this argument all the time for sec fans....then i start naming off players in the hall of fame...or just current players in the nfl...point is...for EVERY player you name...i can name one JUST AS GOOD from a different conference...whether it be pac 10 or acc, or big east......

i know its hard for you sec fans to wrap your head around....i think the sec is good...i just dont think its as good as some sec fans want to beleive....I also understand the 4 letter network talks up the sec like its no tomorow....understandable....just look at the big picture...all im saying...

they wont even send 8 of the 10

so?...what the hell does that have to do with being the best player in the country?...you have to be on a good team to win the heisman?....is that your point?...it SHOULD be the best player in the country...but some like to make it the most VALUABLE to his team...(wink wink tim tebow)...but we shall see...

my point is it shows the talent depth, but i do agree it should be the best player

really hate to break this to you...kentucky and arkansas are currently NOT RANKED....

kentucky was 1-5 against RANKED teams

and what was stanfords record they beat usc and what was arizonas record they beat oregon ( that may noy be fair they did lose dixon ). and iam sure arkansas will be in the new polls. i dont doubt that there are other good conferences just not as good from top to bottomin my opinion.

the beauty of it is that the big east champion and the big ten champion will play for the championship right in the sec's back yard and there ain't a damn thing the overhyped conference can do about it
