| New England Patriots 2007-2008 Posted: 1/13/2008 9:55:27 AM | Garrards fumble in the first half was a key play in the game, and Stallworths awesome catch on that busted third down play in the second half was the backbreaker i thought. Game effort by the Jags, but congrats on another outstanding performance by the Patriots and in particular their offence.
So Jags and Packers covered on Saturday. Halfway home on the best weekend of football of the year. I guess today would be one of Archie Manning's proudest days. Apple didn't fall far from the tree in that family.
Time for some more football.

| New England Patriots 2007-2008 Posted: 1/13/2008 1:24:36 PM | Well it seems the Pats will play the Chargers! I am sure nothing can terrify the Pats fans. Those Chargers looked so good too! | |
|
| New England Patriots 2007-2008 Posted: 1/13/2008 4:00:09 PM | The Chargers played very aggresive against the Colts. I find them to be amazing since they had a bad start and still was able to make it to the AFC Championship.
Whoever would have made it, Colts or Chargers. Their both a good team going against the Patriots.

| New England Patriots 2007-2008 Posted: 1/13/2008 5:31:32 PM | To tell you the truth,....
I live in Indianapolis,...and,...after so many years,..of the Colts losses,...and at times it just seemed that they gave the games away,......I've never understood,...why so many fans,..and Indianapolis have remained "Loyal",..to what at the time was a sorry excuse for an NFL Team.
It seemed,...the Colts could play a great first half,...then choke in the second.
Finally,...after far too may years playing,...and after two many Stadiums being built at the taxpayers expense,...do the Colts start winning.
Thank Goodness,...it got plumb crazy,...to keep supporting a looseing team,...for sooooooooooooooooooooo many years.
Ok,....So,... Im NOT a Colts fan,...heck,.....Im not even a Sports Fan.
WHY ?????
Because I dont feel it should be the burden,... of the City,...to pay for,...$$$$$$$$$$ and build, ...a major Sports Complex.
And then,...CHARGE AN ARM AND A LEG $$$$$$$$$$$$$$,....even for seats in the Nose Bleed Sections !!!!!
If a family man,...wants to take his wife and children to see a "Home Town" game,... it shouldnt cost you $$$ TRIPLE DIGITS$$$,..TO BUY A TICKET !!!!
Everything,.....is all about the $$$MONEY$$$,...it doesnt have shyt to do with Sports anymore,.....ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY !
Indiana,...has always been the home of the finest HIGH SCHOOL,..... and COLLEGE SPORTS !!!!!!!,.......HANDS DOWN !!!
Our State,...earned the title of "HOOSIER HYSTERIA",..... and MARCH MADNESS,... by being the most active, and involved FANS,...of Sports,....be it Basketball,...or Football !!!
And IM PROUD of that fact !
Im ashamed of the fact that our city,..has never had the Vision,....to build a GREAT STADIUM,...of Monumential porportions,...from the get go in the first place,...... without making the citizens, and taxpayers,....foot the bill.
Ok,..a little history,.....
Market Square Arena,...Host for many,...many Basketball games,...home town of the PACERS,......halfway thru the building of the Arena,...it was mentioned,...that,... "IT WASNT BIG ENOUGH !!!"
Next comes,...THE INDIANAPOLIS CONVENTION CENTER",......halfway thru the building,..again,...its said,... "WE DIDNT BUILD IT BIG ENOUGH",...
Then,..its decided to build another venue,..called the "HOOSIER DOME",..which later was re-titled 'THE RCA DOME",....,..And guess what,...before compleation,...it was decided,..that it wouldnt be big enough for future use !!!
So,.....then,....CONCECO FIELD HOUSE,..was built for our Basketball games,...
And now,...we have the building of ,...THE LUCAS OIL STADIUM,... for our Home Field Games for the Colts.
My point being,....is why should the citizens have to pay for the funding, and building, of any Dome, or Stadium,....IF,...Their NOT a Sports Fan,...or so Poor,...they cant afford tickets to go see a Game ?
I am a New England Fan,.....just for the reason that the Owner, paid for the teams Stadium,..not the city.
A good friend told me,..that only 3 NFL Teams,..have paid for their own Stadiums. And New England is one of the 3.
That,...in my book,...deserves Respect !

| New England Patriots 2007-2008 Posted: 1/14/2008 4:09:04 AM | | That was a very gutsy & well earned win by the Chargers over the Colts. I wonder, though, if the Chargers will have enough to even keep it close against the Pats. Gates is hobbled, and Tomlinson & Rivers are iffy. And, the Pats won't self-destruct like the Colts did. Anything can happen in these games, and weather may be a factor, but I'd be shocked if New England doesn't beat the Chargers by 2 touchdowns. | |

| New England Patriots 2007-2008 Posted: 1/15/2008 10:29:47 PM | Bill hammers it home
FOXBOROUGH – Sensing the edgy mood here at Gillette Stadium, it appears that Bill Belichick came down hard on the players in a morning meeting. In the process, he drilled home the point that the Chargers are a dangerous team.
“If he was a trial lawyer today, he won by a landslide,” fullback Heath Evans said.
Evans said players were handed a stat sheet that included all the areas in which the Chargers have been impressive.
“If fear is ever good, he put fear in us by what they’ve accomplished and what they’ve done consistently for the last two months,” Evans said.
One statistic that stood to Evans was turnover differential.
“I think he said they were 11- or 12-0 when they win the turnover battle,” Evans relayed. “Just that, as a running back, it’s more focus on ball security.”
Evans was one of a handful of players who drew a large media crowd in the locker room today. WR Donte’ Stallworth and TE Kyle Brady were two others answering questions from a large group of reporters.

Just goes to show you the difference between the Pats and:
1. This years Cowboys - Prior to their game against the Giants, Jones giving tickets away to the NFC Championship game. How pompous.
2. 2001 Pittsburgh Steelers - Thanks for the hotel rooms Kordell.
|
| New England Patriots 2007-2008 Posted: 1/16/2008 3:26:10 PM | Coach B. never underestimates his opponents. He also won't let his players believe the media's "no chance" predictions for the Chargers. The Chargers only real chance is turnovers & a special teams return for a score.
2001 Pittsburgh Steelers - Thanks for the hotel rooms Kordell. There was only one week between the Championship game and Superbowl back in '01; still, the Steelers were over-confident that year. Hmm, seems a punt return by Troy Brown and a blocked field goal returned by the Pats were the difference in that game. Those are the kind of plays the Chargers will need to shock the football world.

| New England Patriots 2007-2008 Posted: 1/18/2008 5:51:02 PM | The Patriots DID choke, which is the only reason that the Colts won a championship ;) and they choked against Pitt too. Patriots have set the standard in the NFL since their first championship. They may have a had a few bad years (which would be successful seasons for any other team, my poor chiefs...), but I'm not suprised by them at all. In fact, it's about time they got their ---- together
sry, first post i saw, why isn't there an AFC thread?
I give the jags a better shot against NE anyway. I just hope they show up and we see a good game.

| New England Patriots 2007-2008 Posted: 1/20/2008 3:17:50 PM | Jesus, what happened to Brady? 3 interceptions?
Scared the hell out of me. And I don't like to be scared.
Win is a win.
19-0 ! 19-0 ! 19-0 ! 19-0 !
It's not dream anymore.
|
| New England Patriots 2007-2008 Posted: 1/20/2008 9:13:40 PM | No earthling it will be a nightmare for the Pats. I do hope they sleep these next two weeks.
You can wake up now and wake up to reality
Giants away games ............will be ..................11-1 Pats will be .....................................................18-1 Giants will destroy the perfect dream for the Pats
Yes I noticed that too earthing, that the Pats are starting to slip and not looking as good. I was surprised myself at the interceptions. And that was against the no#2 defense now. They will play the no#1 defense in the Superbowl XLII
I can not blame them it is almost next to impossible to be 19 and 0 in a season
You are right its only a dream to be perfect

Didn't your parents teach you that anything is possible?
|
| New England Patriots 2007-2008 Posted: 1/20/2008 11:01:06 PM | One more win will remove the current asterisk next to the 'Greatest Team Ever' award.
Erasing 35+ years of NFL history helps me update my knowledge of greatness. Congratulations Patriots and their fans.
