Why are we here Saturday night?

My date cancelled, and I'm sitting here trying to figure out if it's legit or not... because I'm PARANOID, but I know I am so it's probably just my paranoia that's making me sit here thinking about it. He's a nice guy, and I can allow some flexibility...once or twice, but how do you know what's really going on with someone you haven't met yet? Also my friends all have plans for this eve or I might have gone out just to get out.

Also..I'm going to dye my hair, give myself a pedicure and watch a good movie...and I have a date tomorrow afternoon to look forward to. Hope the weather is nice.

At least I'm not working! That's a good thing.

Some of us are here on Saturday night because we have kids and no babysitter..But next weekend will be a different story..Plus, it isnt so bad being at home chillin out. Dates are fun but the aren't the world..Sometimes a nice relaxing Saturday night at home is good. Could be better with adult company. But not too awful bad.

I'm between jobs so I'm not working anywhere, and haven't been invited out to any parties or get togethers, so I have been watching television.

That is my exciting life. Hopefully things will improve.

Or our teenager is hanging out with their friends and we're the designated driver after their fun is done. Can't wait until the kiddo has a driver's license!

What's so awful about having a night all to yourself (even if it is Saturday?) Laundry, linens, a hot bath, catching up around the house, surfing the net...they all have their time! Besides, I'd rather be enjoying myself my way and wait until someone shows up that motivates me enough to have someone ELSE be the kid's DD!

I'm with you ladies! (Sorry to hear your date flaked, that sucks.)

Got a call earlier and they needed me to go ahead and split the atom.

Figures they would want it done on a Sat. night.

I am not sure which is more pathetic, being home on a Saturday night ( I had two bad meet and greets last night and need to shake them off) or having read all six pages of this thread.

I'm researching my Halloween costume (a tough one to put together)...other than that, I've got Colin Farrell...in a DVD to keep me company

Man, he looks great in "American Outlaws".

Sad excuse to stay in? Yeah *bursts out crying*

Where should I be?

I am home, on my comfortable couch, watching TV shows of interest to me on a big screen TV, my dog is laying next to me..... I am 100% content with where I am physically at the moment and emotionally forever. Life is good.

I pop in here on a Saturday night to read the whining and bashing posted in the broken hearts forum by bitter and angry people who refuse to admit that they make their own problems, and life is just that much better!!!

Because we don't think we can't be just because it's Saturday night. Yeah, I remember when I was a young whipper snapper and I practically had anxiety attacks if I was home on a Saturday night . I'd say to myself " what's wrong with me ? what kind of a loser am I ? Now drop and give me 20 ! "

But, if something is happening on a Saturday night , I'll go out. If not, hey, I'm saving money and not risking getting caught in rival gangfire.

Wow! living in a rough part of the city huh? lol

OP: On a serious note. I believe that at our age...life is so busy, we are actually looking forward to a nice quiet Saturday night by ourselves to relax. I know I do!

I'm my best Company! No expectations, good understanding. No need to talk or to be entertaining. It's the best!

Seriously, on an avg of once a month you hear about some gang shooting at a nightclub somewhere in Metro Vancouver. I assume that's happening in every large city nowadays isn't it ? Isn't it cool nowadays to be a gangsta and risk getting killed for the scrilla in manilla ? Yikes, I'm glad I'm not in that generation ! They can have it !

I'd rather flip back and forth from POF and downloading oldies but goodies that pop into my head off Youtube thank you very much ...

saturday's are not that important unless you have a plan for the evening. It's very easy to find something to do every other day of the week unless you have saturdays and sundays as off days at your job. For some people saturdays are mondays and tuesdays are sundays so it's all perception.

Well seeing I had my night out earlier in the week I decided to stay in and be a good boy this Saturday night. Looks like no one misses me out there no ladies trying to break down my door to be with them lol. So far this evening doing my POF thing online, watching hockey and watch a movie later that I rented. Its all good would be nice to spend a Saturday with someone though.

<-- Home because my computer had a meltdown a month ago and I just spent over 100 bucks getting it fixed, so I'm being frugal for the next couple weeks. I had a couple of invites for dates, but I dont like being a girl who doesnt come with her own cash.

With the little or ridiculous experience I have, I think I would be better off at home.

Why do we all feel like we MUST leave our homes on Saturday night or we're inadequate in some way? Do we just want to have water-cooler anecdotes on Monday when someone says "how was your weekend"? Meh, I enjoyed myself tonight, alone, watching hockey, cooking, playing online scrabble, browsing these sites looking for interesting souls, eating, drinking and walking the dog. I like my own company and don't feel a need to be flanked by an entourage like I did when I was younger. And another bonus is I won't be waking up in the morning checking my wallet to see how much $ I've blown.
