I’m home a bit earlier than I really needed to be simply because I had to get out of where I was before I got shot. lol
It was the 100th game between Michigan and Michigan State this afternoon and, of course, I may have had a couple bucks on Michigan. Uh huh. But with less then ten minutes of play time left, Michigan was getting whupped. So, of course, I doubled down all my bets. And, of course Michigan turned it around and won!
Go Blue!
You see, out of 100 games between these teams, this is the 67th one Michigan won. And, anyone who follows Michigan closely knows that they always score a lot in the fourth quarter. So, my doubling down on the bets was (almost) a statistical sure thing.
Anyway, that was enough partying for one day. Besides, I’ve got important things to do at home tonight, like stetting my clocks back.

Posted: 11/4/2007 10:38:04 AM | It would seem I'm a bit late to post about Saturday, but I did happen to be out. I went to a sushi restaurant for the first time, then a very nice cigar bar that had a jazz band, then capped the evening with a very depressing trip to a club called The Vue. There were so many ladies with X's on their hands, I was surprised the bar was open at all. I'm also thinking of writing a polite suggestion note to the management to have a couples night and a singles night, so as to avoid the three fights they had due to men hitting on women with boyfriends.
Oh, and just to keep the playing field even, I didn't go out Friday night because.... No women asked me out. Heh.
On a side note, doesn't going out with a married friends who bring their wives give you a warm little depressed note in the****es of your heart. I just love being reminded of what I don't have every time they show a PDA.

Posted: 11/11/2007 1:57:44 AM | I'm right there with mojo -- 3 Tvs, kids aren't here, cable on demand, FOOD THAT I CAN EAT WHILE LYING DOWN, WITHOUT WORRYING that my date might find it between my teeth, not needing to worry about what all of that Mexican food did to my breath, as the cute little dog I'm spending my evening with has even WORSE breath than me right now...
Worked all week, gotta do it again next week, among a million other things. Plus, I killed ENTIRELY too many brain cells prior to this 41st year of my life. I know they supposedly don't regenerate well, but this Saturday night, I'm taking my chances. Gotta do it once in a while.
Did I mention that I bought candy to eat whilst I hopped between the cable TV and Internet? Even got the dog some special treats, too. My candle is burned out, but other than that, I'm fine just where I am for now. | |

I remember when I was back in my 20s though, I had to be out every Friday and Saturday night in case I missed something at the bars (those that had live bands and music and dancing). I finally figured out that there was nothing to miss and so many of the people there were all alone together, pretending they were not alone, which is far sadder than being alone, alone.
I am all alone when I work on Saturday night/Sunday morning and tonight a very attractive coworker stopped by after bar time because she badly needed to use the restroom. She was 3 sheets to the wind, but had found some guy to drive her home. She seemed very happy but will suffer for it later when she has to come to work on Sunday night. What is sad, using the POF analogy, is that she is fishing in the swamp and all she will catch there are carp and bottom feeders. Oh well. | |
