a bit of a difference there, that is analagous to the 'anti-choice' people saying that 'pro-choice' people "advocate" killing babies, having abortions. Often not true, many think that abortion should be a LAST RESORT in SOME cases, available as an option, not a 'first resort'

While I think at that age a 25 yo guy is a bit TOO old for her (she at 17) - I don’t think he deserves to be jailed or shot over it.
Unless the 17 year old gal has actual learning disabilities - she has a pretty dang good idea by then what she is getting herself into.
There really is not all that much difference in a 17 yo girl and a 19 year old girl.
Raising two daughters - I shivered at the memories of me (at 17) and my girl friend (at 15) having sex like wild monkeys every time we were together ................ that is just life. | |

I don't see a problem with it if the younger party wants it.
Most younger parties don't know what they want. They can however be easily swayed into doing what someone else wants and can even be fooled into thinking it's also what they want. Teenaged girls are still KIDS and due to their lack of experience they are so dramatically idealistic and their heads are already so filled with notions of grandeur that it only adds to their confusion to infiltrate them even more. Leave them kids alone and find someone on your own intellectual level. My take is that it's all about control. Finding an impressionable mind to manipulate into doing everything you demand, no challenge there! | |

Been sweethearts since 16/21 .Her parents trusted him completely.He even slept on there couch ,she went on vacation with us very carefully supervised by the other adults.Planned on getting married after she graduated from college many years away.Where they sexually active in this day and age probably .Both families set them down seperate and as a couple and talked to them about sexual responsibility.Unfortunately their plans never got to materialize as her and 2 of her friends were killed in a car accident 2 days after she turned 17 in March.He is still close to the family.My 26 year old daughter married the man see started dating at 17 he was 25 and her cousins friend since middle school [her first boyfriend thanks to a rape at 15].They married when she was 24.So while I am not thrilled with a 17/25 having sex it would I would also have to say it would depend on the circumstance.Such as how long have they known each other ,does the family know the person and trust him?Do the family know of the relationship and how do they feel about it?I think all these needs to factor in. | |

I am sure we would both walk away from that talk with a better understanding of what each of us expected of the other. And then i would arrange to have him knee-capped.

Do some digging in your Family History folks. Look at the ages listed on marriage licences. A little Genealogy may make your cringe at what has been said here.
I am not thrilled at the idea of a 17 year old and a 25 year old dating. Yes, there are some “Man Bites Dog” examples of lasting relationships that started out similarly. There are also to many stories of victimization and manipulation.
There is no “correct” answer to this one. But there is the potential for emotional reactions from very well meaning, if diametrically opposed, opinion holders. | |

I would have to say that almost every single one of those relationships were designed to end in marriage where the male was intending to take the woman/girl into his care and support her for life, they were chaperoned and there was very little premarital sex and dumping after the sex act going on as the father was sure to be there looking for some satisfaction for his daughters reputations and the family honour. | |

As long as they shower before hand. There is no reason they shouldn't have sex like everyone else. You should probably do it with the light off tho because being in the dark so much it would hurt their eyes.
