self proclaimed teacher
educate the masses
inflict insults to the doubters
establish a role with manipulation
breed fear by dominating a conversation
with verbosity and reasoning
books as backup

hmmm-funny how many ppl seemed genuinely worried...
and how many ppl take it all with a grain of salt.

it has always fascinated me how easily ppl can be roused.
amazing that masses can be "persuaded to death"(literally and figuratively)
examples: remember hitler?-various political parties?-religious sects?-

but all in all- this thread has challenged minds.
that has made it wonderful in itself.

let no one live in your mind "rent free"
and no matter how ingenious the flattery-how sweet the butter-
how scary the fear factor-how educated the teacher....
be careful with your own reasoning!

casting labels may be to hide your own!(just a thought)

Where Demons Fear to Tread

In the dark recesses of your mind, if you dig deeply you may find
The story I’m about to tell…… Of love and hate Of peace and hell

It was white silk that she wore…. when she came up to her door
White silk that gleamed of inner light .. A rose of beauty to my sight
She was a walking talking dream, straight from my mind as yet unseen
Until that night she opened wide.. her door, and let me slip inside
Her beauty was beyond compare White silk, deep tan, and golden hair
A body to make Venus blush.... And in my mind the first dark rush

She never knew how many days, I had searched for perfect prey
Finding those who live alone, Seeking love by telephone

And You,, You call me physcopath,, But really I’m much more than that
You’ll never understand the skill, required to give me one more thrill
The emptiness I feel inside ……….. Until I reach and take my bride
You’ll never know just how I feel….. when life for her becomes so real
The first quick glimpse of dark surprise, The fear and knowing in her eyes
She cries, She reaches out for life ,, To find it captured by my knife

Her life and death belong to me ….. You’ll never know the ecstasy
And as I walked out through her door, It was red silk that she now wore

Lunch anyone??

This thread is interesting to say the least.
But tendencies and trying to identify people through text books can lead to errors

you cannot recognize a psychopath because they are really clever people, you cannot even describe them by a test.

the only thing I know is a psychopath is that one that doesn't really look like one, scary isn't?

if that were true, then the criteria wouldn't exist and we wouldn't even have a name for them. duh.

what's even creepier is the fact that, no matter how obvious he was, he had followers. must have been able to talk a good game. he's an extreme example.

There have been so many of those people.....
JIM JONES
ADOLPH HITLER
they can get masses and even countries to follow them....

That Jim Jones dude has the people drink poisoned kool aide. .. even the children...
shesh... what a sicko
Lots of serial killers fall under this catagory. I dont know all their names but there are many hundreds of them all over every continent...

The most puzzling of them to me are those who hurt children...
I mean talk about PREDITOR !!!! shesh... often children they dont even know.. and they kill them so horribly..... its so sad.
It freaks me out anyone can be like that !!!!! There was a man in RUSSIA they made a movie about. He killed like 100's of children aged 6-19..... he met them at a bus stop and lured them to a seculed area and killed them. Then he had sex with them... his whole world was planning his next kill. He pretended to be a caring man who was lonley.
When they caight him, they did many tests on him... psychological tests (he was a psychpath)... and they worked with him for a long time to discover all the people he killed. When they were donr they shot him. Maybe the best thing than try to rehabilitate someone so insane.

I guess the more charming of the psychos and socios have the biggest fan clubs... can hurt the most... but not always.

Hmmmmm, after doing extensive research on this fascinating man several years ago for a school project, perhaps Adolf Hitler falls in this category. Imagine a man as powerful as him w/ the ability to "brainwash" thousands to nearly wipe out an entire human race! I guess it is safe to say that most "anti-Christs" were pyschopaths as well.

"A note of caution: the test must be administered by a trained mental health practitioner under controlled conditions for it to have any validity."

This Statement here is my only misgivings about this thread

After reading my poem it would be simple to say

DANGER DANGER BEWARE But was it a Poem, or my true feelings?

Unqualified analysis is simple to do

But then again, how much do we Really know about true pyschopaths/sociopaths

I think it was Cardinal Richelieu?? who said
"Give me three sentences writen by the most innocent man, and I will find a reason to hang him"

I can't remember the exact quote in here, but it was someything like 1 in 25 people had these traits.
Most of them must have them well under control in that case

Because otherwise, there would be a lot more blood on the streets

Is someone who is raised with a total disregard for human life, a pyschopath, or just a product of society?
Society can increase psychopathic traits.
But are these people true psychopaths, or just what we produced

Lawyers etc Love the word Psychopath
But they dont get to use it often, in defense or prosecution cases

i keep saying over and over in this thread that people need to read the original thread, where the warnings and diagnostic criteria are listed.

i have also said many times that i have not much faith in psychologists and psychiatrists. i question the people who practice, not the science. i also have had personal experience with just how badly the people can **** up, because of their inability to get past their own preconceptions. however, the whole point of therapy is to teach you how to be your own therapist. therefore it is possible for an intelligent person to use this list as a guide. you don't have to be a licensed professional to recognise these traits in a person.

the list is not general. it is very specific. what these traits all have in common is that if a person possesses many of them, it denotes a lack of conscience or empathy. i think the problem, when you make statements about streets running with blood, is that you have a tv/movie idea about psychopaths. they don't always look like norman bates or charlie manson. they often have the ability to blend in, and aren't always violent.

the idea behind posting the criteria in the first place was kinda the same idea behind the book, "he's just not that into you". many times people don't really think about a situation or person rationally, and can't put the pieces together until they have it spelled out in black and white right in front of them. if this had been a list from a ladies magazine, it would not have gotten as many silly responses.

none of the traits in the list are good qualities to have. they are all negative personality traits. if any person you are with fits the profile, whether or not the have been officially diagnosed, they are not someone you should be with, as they are characteristic of someone who is incapable of love. does anyone really want to be with a person who isn't capable of love?

When you talk to God it's called prayer, when God talks to you it's called schitzophrenia.

For whatever it's worth, here's how I approach life:

I don't care what anyone thinks, if I do not cause them harm.
In that sense, I do not live by conventional standards or social norms.
On the other hand, I am accountable to God, which controls how I treat people and to a much greater degree than social norms, as it makes me operate from the heart.
In that sense, since most of our values stem from living in a country that bases many of it's social norms on Judeo-Christian values, I automatically, out of following God, fall within the social norms.
The difference is the motivation: Conviction of the heart through conscience? Or behavior based upon fear of what they would think?
In that sense, I feel liberated to do anything I please, as long as God is okay. :)
