THE NICE THING IS WE HOLD OUR COLOUR LONGER THAN OTHERS , THE ONLY SIDE AFFECT IS AS RED SLIPS TO SILVER WE GO STRAWBERRY BLONDE [[ WASH MY MOUTH OUT]]AND OUR FRECKLES WELL I CAN STILL GROW NEW ONES AT FIFTY SEVEN WHICH MAKES ME A BIG KID AT HEART AND TRUE BLUE TO THE CORE NO DYE BOTTLE FOR THIS LADY

Posted: 3/10/2008 3:21:14 AM | It's nice that redheads are finally getting the recognition we deserve.I was teased as a child but thanks to the confidence building from my mum (a non-redhead) have always thought my colouring was a big part of my identity.
i doubt we will die out.My family have had redheads from way back (my maiden name was Redding which is even pronounced Redd'un where I come from) and I have 2 redhead daughters and a son with a red beard...we will carry on! | |

Posted: 3/10/2008 5:46:40 PM | My sister and I were the two out of eight, yep, 8, that got red hair. Hers is still a gorgeous auburn but mine turned brown. Yeah, it was temper city growing up. Come to think of it, it still is.

Posted: 3/11/2008 2:55:48 PM | I heard this two. I first heard about the blondes going out by 200 years from now. The red heads are also going that root along with other hair colours/looks. I have also read that by possably by 400 years from now, orange, salt and pepper, light brown, bald and grey hairs may go extinct, leaving only the dark brown and black hair as the main remnant. I could understand that because most of the people in the world have black or dark brown hair anyways and the first people that ever lived had black and dark brown hair.
Many say this is due to genetic divergence and ecologica and geographical factors.

After all, if you made it through all that awful teasing in grade school and high school...it makes you tougher...also more compassionate, I feel...not a bad combination of qualities!! So YES, I believe it makes a big difference whether its natural or not..I wont even go into the carpet matching the drapes thing...lol...
Moreover, you can dye someone's hair, but you can't give them the genes of a redhead....not yet anyway.....lol
The fact that we're becoming extinct is a strong statistical possibility...
it only makes me feel that much more priveledged to rock the red hair as long as I am blessed....and not just the hair, but also that unique temperment, zest for life...that take the bull by the horns type of quality....or maybe that's just some redheads...
Regardless...enjoy your red/ginger/berry blonde hair while you have it!!!!

anyone else know some senior redheads? Are they white or silver?
I think white hair on a senior looks extremely cool...
its the way I'd like to cruise through my golden years!!

The people migrated into different parts of the world for land and grew different skin tones, hair colors, and bone structures; due to how they lived and worked in their environment.
One particular small group of people isolated themselves. They lived in caves and only ate meat – no veggies or fruit what-so-ever and their hair flamed like the sun due to lack of needed enzymes and became fair toned due to lack of light. This particular group isolated themselves for hundreds of years ‘concreting’ their DNA of fair skin and flaming hair.
Now let’s fast forward hundreds of years.
The world is becoming more of a melting pot. People are marrying people from anywhere around the world and mixing their DNA into different bone structures and skin tones of their own. The world is slowly producing more olive or brown toned people with brown hair. It will just take time, the redheads, because so tiny will be the first to leave, then blonds, then black; but that's like forever away.
I read this in some article a while back, the article was much more intelligently written with bigger words and longer paragraphs, but I summed it the best I could.
The world is ending like it began – surprise, surprise.
I believe though because of genes or DNA there will always be surprises. And people in Alaska will always be very fair toned in some manner.  | |
