sorry girls but attacking me in no way covers up the fact " prefer not to say " almost always means what you think it does.

What i don't understand is if all the fat ladies are so happy and thrilled about being BIG, why bash people who are not into them.

i have yet to see big fat guys bash people and cause trouble like the fat women do.
maybe the guys are smarter and more mature .

now all you big ol ladies play nice and have a great wkend. CYA

I'm a dude and even I think you're an idiot...
How can you get to nearly 50 and still be so juvenile?
You would think that growing up and possibly maturing would affect your attitude by now, apparently not.

I don't understand why some people think body type is unimportant. Some people are attracted or unattracted to certain body types. I don't think anyone would date someone that they aren't attracted to. As for prefer not to say, it is usually people who don't any of the categories listed or fat people.

Is this an assumption or do you have any proof to back up your statement?

...or maybe it's for people who don't want to attract someone who CARES about body type.

I don't understand why this concept is hard to grasp for some people.

Sure, a man might like my body and fall head-over-heels in love NOW, but what about 10 or 20 years from now when I might not look as attractive? Is he still going to love me?

This is why I "prefer not to say". NOT because I'm overweight/don't fit a category. No. It's because I want to attract a certain type of male to be my partner for LIFE.

You might just be the smartest woman on the planet...

Sounds like a lot of the other people commenting are showing their bias or disdain for people that have a weight issue. Poor psychology that seems to be obtained, stemming from or deeply rooted in their youth and up bringing. A fat or obese person, while you may not like the way they look, is still a person! Learn some compassion, Karma can be a ****.

I don't even look at what a person lists as a body type. A lot of people ( man and woman ) lie about their body type. They put average, athletic when they are clearly overweight. They put a few pounds extra when they are obese. I have nothing against fat people, but I think people shouldn't lie about their weight, height, age, marital status or anything else on their profile.

Well I agree, people shouldn't lie about what they look like ...it doesn't make sense, because ultimately you may want to meet someone off this site, and I would think they would get pretty angry for someone misrepresenting themselves. I have some weight to lose, but I am exercising and watching what I eat. I have lost a good amt. since January. I am proud to be where I am at. And if someone doesn't like you for who you are, then they aren't worth your time.

I feel that if you're at least putting in a solid effort to be HEALTHY than that is what matters. Unfortunately some women read my profile and think 'wow, he trains a lot, he wouldn't be interested in me' and that is completely untrue. You CAN be healthy and marginally overweight, however obesity is a huge problem in our society, I lived in Florida/Texas for quite sometime and saw many lives ruined by it.

What I look for is someone who considers their health when making eating decisions, if that person happens to be 5, 10, 20lbs more than they think they ought to be then they get points for their own personal consideration. I would have an impossible time falling in love during the beginning of a strong relationship with someone who considers themselves slim, then having them gain +30lbs after getting married. Love is absolutely not blind and I'm willing to put the effort into myself to make sure my partner always is emotionally and physically attracted to me, all I ask is that person does the same. Relationships are tough but if you work together you can be perfect for each other.

Sure, that little rant was off topic for 'prefer not to say,' and I honestly think that the ladies on this site have the best intentions and some simply don't feel confident slotting themselves into a category. We all look at ourselves with criticizing eyes, just make sure that you don't take yourself out of the running because you feel someone is 'too hot' for you, I'm a hypocrit here simply because I've neglected to talk to people I think are out of my league.

So girls, if you're looking for an honest, shy, and healthy guy send me a message.

I have prefer not to say ,but i also say in my profile that the reason i don't have a body type picked out is because i don't find any of the choices accurate for me. Anyway i have up 8 pictures 7 of them are full body shots , so anybody looking can decide for themselves.I have learned that you can't please everyone so that is why i have prefer not to say and have pictures of me for people to see for themselves.

I agree with alot of the other posters. The body types they have on here are very vague and really a matter of opinion. What one person may think is one category (ie "few extra pounds") may not be so to others. I have full pics on my pro...and I put that I'm not little in my actual pro..ppl can like me or leave me...I really don't care. I do think ppl on here should be a little more honest about things like that tho.

Boy, nogo3, You are totally lost and clueless. The reason heavy men don't bash people and cause trouble is because there is such a double standard in America. For the man there is no perception of fat. I've met men who claimed to be average and they are FAT! But, because of my "smarts" and "maturity", I don't hold that against them. Men, generally men such as yourself, tend to take a woman's weight very personally as a scale ( pun intended) on which to judge her. You, my dear sound very shallow and I am not surprised to find you unavailable. You would do well to hook up with an EXTREMELY large woman and be smothered.

usually, no pic, or just a head shot at a weird angle + body type = prefer not to say usually means its a whale of a person, and no picture? I just figure it looks like godzilla with breasts.

Most of the rest works out nicely after that, including the neurotic and paranoid types who want to always claim substance over looks or they're famous and don't want to be seen on on a datigng site.

I agree with some of your points, but having "prefer not to say" as a body profile doesn't necessary prevent men who do care about body type from contacting a woman. If a man only cares about looks and he likes a woman's pic, then he will contact her without reading the rest of the profile. Some other people have some good points. Body type can be subjective to some degree. What's average to me could be a few pounds extra, slender, or athletic/fit to another woman. However there are some people who clearly lie about body type. I have seen some men who list average or athletic when they are obviously fat. I don't hate or dislike fat people, but people should be honest about their weight. People should be honest about their height, age, marital status, smoking and drinking habits, profession etc as well. Dishonestly is a dealbreaker reagrdless of what they are lying about.

[i have noticed when looking at the figures and descriptions of body types of American women on their profiles that a lot of these women have " a few extra pounds" , i have messaged a few to say that personally i dont think of them as "a few extra pounds"....some of these women replied stating that American/Canadian men actually think they are..........in Britain these American/Canadian "few extra pound" babes would be considered average or quite slim.
When chatting to these American/Canadian women they think its quite normal to be classed as "overweight" tho when compared to the stick insect American celebrities i can see their thinking......but..........these "few extra pound" women are in my mind far more attractive than stick insects.]-digitalwonder

Thank you for pointing that out. Perspective is everything!
And it depends on what you are using to measure yourself. BMI, the doctor's healthy weight
chart, or whatever. It also depends on where & how you carry the extra weight. I am 25
pounds over the healthy weight range for my height/age. But I am 2 sizes smaller than I was
at the same weight 2 years ago. And before anyone asks, no I am NOT more active than I
was then, in fact I am less active now, due to my arthritis getting worse. I try to be as active
as I can, watch what I eat (well, mostly) Doesn't seem to help much. Still working on that!

Prefer not to say, is women who are out of shape. Women who are in good shape don't mind saying so.

This is why I "prefer not to say". NOT because I'm overweight/don't fit a category. No. It's because I want to attract a certain type of male to be my partner for LIFE.

You're quite right to do that, too - when you put "prefer not to say", you just won't show up on searches people make where they specify a body type.

It's not a perfect solution, but hopefully it helps.
