All the physical intimacy in the universe could not make up for the lack of respect and trust in that mess of a relationship. If I ever start missing anything about my ex, I simply pull up the last (negative, hate-spewed verbally abusive) e-mail he ever sent me and re-read it to remind myself that there's nothing to miss.

Posted: 9/6/2007 7:41:48 AM | Funny, over the years...I always kept an old ex or two in sort of a black book for in between relationships, if they were pretty good sexually. If they were single as well of course, we'd hook up just for the sex (safely of course) while dating new people. It was NEVER in an effort to get back together, though one or two did take it that way. Then again most of my exes are relationships I ended and it was either never on extremely bad terms, or so long ago there were no hard feelings, so maybe that's why.
I was never in a long term volatile marriage or relationship where there was cheating, fighting, etc...in those cases of course there'd be no way I would want the drama that came with hooking up, even if the sex was great.
The only other option would be male friends I've known for years, but of course if they were friends there'd be no sexual interest.
I'd hate to go without sex just because I was single, and that was better to me than hooking up with random strangers...ew. | |

I did find however that because we were so close and so much in love that exploring each other was a natural thing. The only thing I miss about him is the sex!
When 'love' is around sex becomes more special, and making love, or having sex is an expression of how two people feel about each other.
The best way to overcome your sexual desires for your ex is to think about all the rotten things that went wrong, it's enough to turn anybody off. | |

I think most people miss certain aspects of a relationship, depending on how serious the relationship was, if you were married versus just together, and if you have children. I know its the politically correct thing to say you are over it and moved on, past it..whatever you want to call it. But I know so many people who claim to be past it or moved on who still bring up the ex, and it's a necessity if you have children. So I dont think its all that bad or unnatural to miss intimacy with someone who was once a major part of your life, especially if that aspect of the relationship wasn't the issue which caused the end. I think missing it..is natural. Now going back for more when it's over, that is where there may be a problem. I won't lie and say I do miss sex with my ex. She is the last person I was intimate with. I enjoy sex. I miss sex, so I guess by deductive reasoning, I miss sex with her. Doesn't mean I want her back. | |
