Posted: 9/10/2007 6:02:50 AM | we presume she thinks they were actually planted in the earth but maybe she just doesn't believe they exist ....I have never dug up a dinosaur bone but i have seen copies of the ones that people say have been dug up and they look real ... i have no way of testing them for age or to prove they are real.....the ones that are suppose to be real could be as fake as the copies for all i know ...people have faked things very big for fame and fortune or to explain their agenda ......same for the moon landing it is definately possible just like its possible to make fake bones i wasn't there i cant know for sure no i submit that believing in dinosaurs and moon landings is for most people just plain faith....just like believing in every thing we are taught if we were not there and if we have never dug up a dinosaur and if we dont know for ourselves how to test to see for our selves that its real ...we are relying on plain faith...faith in the good old establishment /government and we all know they won't lie ... yea right!....carbon dating how the hell do I know this isn't a lie ... dating on POF im beginning to doubt is real....in reality every thing we think we know and haven't seen for ourselves ...well its just faith...I cant see putting someone down for their faith because its different than my faith ... as long as they dont push their faith on me we can debate it endlessly and have fun doing so... now as i said i do believe in dinosaurs and i think we probably did land on the moon but thats just my faith........but i not only have some faith in some things the government tells me but my faith tells me there is somethings in this universe greater than man even has the power to dream of... call it god or whatever you put your faith in and we will still be friends
to me the Bible tells me to do the things that i know are right . treat my fellow person with dignity and respect call the supreme force which my logic already tells me exist ...God ...
...and I will be better for it...plus that in doing so i will be rewarded eternally....sounds like a win win situation to me .... i had rather believe in God and in the end find out i was wrong than not believe and in the end find out i was wrong... because its all just faith ...people say but its not logical .. notice when i referred to logic i said My logic as my logic and your logic and Mr Spocks logic may be completely different...logic is not a law and even laws are different depending on where you are ....Heck Ill even believe in Santa Claus if i think it will benefit me ... but damn theres that being good thingy cant win... just cant win | |

Posted: 9/10/2007 6:20:46 AM | Dinosaurs...My theory is the following: I am not a religious fellow at all so when I mention the bible it's only because it provides me with over all answers to life in general...In the bible it states the earth was void and dark so forth and so on. The dinosaurs were gone by then...that was prior to the first day when the earth was being re populated with vegatation, birds animals etc.
Think about it, earth dark and void...dinosaurs extinct already..ok so far so good...hmmm that certainly explains the theory about dinosaurs being wiped out and the sun's warmth being rendered useless by soot etc. sun blocked, plants died, no oxygen or plants ok earth becomes dark and void...simple... well anyway..there had to be dinosaurs look at the gator and the kamoda lizard...awesome looking creatures..yikes mean too. Dinosaurs and what not organic vegatation that turned into oil etc is how we run our vehicles. If ancient plant life was around then why couldn't ancient wildlife been around ? Photosynthesis.. something was breathing! Date a girlfriend that dosen't believe in dinosaurs, I would. Why not? To each their own. There are alot of people that don't believe in certain things. How do you know that u do know? Here also is some input. I own a cabin and it sits on a mountain ridge in central Pa. It sits on 5 acres and part of the 5 acres is a quarter acre quarry...u wanna know whats there?...hmmmmm fossils! Of what u may ask? Shell fossils in shale...hmmm..novel concept shale oil.hmmmm. So at one time the earth or at least my quarry was covered with water or at one time it rosed up..but I would venture to say that those fossils are pretty old and date back at least a week..ha ha ha ....

Much of the new testament was written prior to 70 A.D. when the 2nd temple was destroyed. People who were alive when Jesus was alive were still walking the face of the planet and could have easily disputed what was written... but didn't. Even extra-biblical sources such as Josephus record an accounting of Jesus. The new testament is judged on its accuracy exactly as any other ancient writing, it is compared against itself. The more manuscripts available that match each other, the more accurate the writing is deemed to be. The new testament is 99% accurate with over 24000 manuscripts.
I should add that I'm a geology major, and a devout Christian and I LOVE both of these subjects. I'm tired of people assuming science and Christianity are incompatible. It's very fascinating when you let go of your prejudices, (both sides) and put it all together. | |

I'm tired of people assuming science and Christianity are incompatible.
My theory:
Big Bang = God goes Boom and there it is.
Einstein and his light speed time displacement thing = the universe moved much faster back then, so their time is not the same as our time.
6000 years to us = total time universe existed.
Or to think of it this way, the total universe timeframe existed in what our current timeframe would call 6000 years. I should write a mathematical formula for that.

I like that religion is near the top of profiles, so when viewing someone's I can quickly avoid obvious mismatches, usually before their picture even loads. I'm not looking for anything short-term, am far more into mental connections than appearances and no amount of hotness could make up for lack of the former. I feel that shared/very similar religious views are extremely important for a solid relationship and connection.
Astrological sign, on the other hand, I don't understand why that's a part of profiles at all. I can't think of a much more irrelevant criteria. | |

Posted: 9/13/2007 12:51:16 AM | Pfff! Not believing in dinosaurs: that's nothing! About two years ago whilst at college my (apparently) intelligent 20 year old friend (whilst working on a degree) starred across at a map of the world and asked me, "Is that large, green piece of land America?".
What was the problem?
[Pause for effect]
He was pointing to Europe.
Now, to paint a picture, this is a guy who almost left the house wearing his shoes on the wrong feet; almost left the house on a separate occasion with the coat-hanger still inside his sweatshirt; walked around town with his jumper on inside out; and whilst arguing his mistakes about these occurrences at college, stood up to display the fact that he had failed to notice the largest price tag you have ever seen still hanging from inside his jacket.
It's no secret that he has a serious problem with common-sense.
Anyway, the real problem was that he disagreed with my correction of his geographical knowledge, even after:
1) I pointed out the United Kingdom – his home – to him, situated in his “America”.
2) I asked "2" friends to correct him.
3) I asked the lecturer to correct him.
I would say that now he knows better, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Later on that year he also learned the word 'thus' and promptly included it incorrectly in every sentence he wrote believing that it would make him sound smarter - bless him!
Is it funny that he's now a web-designer? I won’t go there….
So, yeah, despite his failings he's still my best friend and one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. And if I found myself on a date with someone of a similar thought process I wouldn't complain; I believe that I'd find it quite charming and would wish to learn more about "their world". | |

One I wouldn't give her too much credit (or credit cards). She might just be convinced that paying the minimum payment means she can charge as much as she wants.. After all it only 'costs' $20.00 per month!
You know, if you really think about it.. The word IGNORANT means uneducated etc.
I think if you simply look at the word it says to ignore- as in "ignore the facts and the obvious"
I used to chuckle at a Uncle who had some peculiar ideas about life.
My brother and I would try to discuss ideas with him about something that we learned in school that was in fact true but he had his beliefs and it was impossible to change his opionion.
We used to say "yeah.. he means. "Don't confuse me with FACTS... My mind is made up!"
Exactly.
So I suppose she drives on the left side of the street because she thinks if they wanted you on the right they would have put the stearing wheel on that side..
Her mind is dangerous...

A guy I know thought it was because there was ice on the bottom.
