Ya tell me about it. But people now a days seem to think it's fine to look like they are going to the gym regardless of where they are going. They have the attitude they should like me for what i am! What kind of person you are says a lot just by the way yo u portray yourself to others. If you do not care about your appearance it gives people the impression you don't really care much about anything. If your going to take pride in doing something start with bettering yourself! You should always if anything take pride in yourself! And for the other big excuse, i want to wear comfy clothes, I'm sorry but there are lots of nicer looking clothes that are not track pants, that are comfy.

worst, visibly dirty jeans, a tshirt that was INSIDE OUT!!! and a baseball cap with what seemed to be ratty hair underneath. shoes were falling apart too.

best, some dude met me right after getting off of work. he had to dress nice for an upscale restaurant. (bartender) casual black suit pants and a black button down shirt with a bright blue tie. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. so so hot. =)

The last guy I dated was dressed very well, like he had on exactly the clothes I'd pick out if I were picking his clothes out and it was a huge turn on. He told me he loved the way I was dressed too, compimented my shoes and everything I had on, I thought that was really cool. I had on a poncho I made myself (I crochet) and he complimented me on it many times.

Because of the way we were dressed we had something in common right away. We were very attracted to each other's style as well as each other.

My poncho is red and he's an Aries, Aries love red, I never even thought. He said OMG did you wear that for me cause I'm Aries, I said no I just love red too.

Clothes matter and can say a lot.

It was a very good date with a very good first impression, thanks partly to mutual love of fashion!

I always get the ones that like to wear those "high water" pants. They are not long pants, and they are not shorts. It looks like they are wearing pants that were the right length for them when they were 16. Either that or they are expecting a flood.

^^^^ Umm, those are called "capris" and are quite stylish. Personally, on a gal with good legs, I find a pair of slim capris with heels to be quite attractive and sexy.

I think it is always in good taste to discuss what you'll be doing -- going to a nightclub or out for coffee. It's very important for me to feel comfortable with whoever I'm meeting. My rule of thumb is to call on the phone first and have a few conversations so that your date feels good about where you'll be meeting, tell each other what you'll be wearing, i.e., casual, dressy. I prefer to keep it low key and as stress free as possible...afterall it does kinda feel like a "job" interview, doesn't it?

Eat to please yourself and dress to please others - it's not complicated.

Well I think the look was dorky on guys, and I think it looks just as dorky on girls. "Stylish"?? To each their own I guess.

Yes, to each their own - we all have different tastes. I'm not going to stoop to your level and call something I don't like "dorky" though. After all, when you do that, you open yourself up, someone might just call that shirt you're wearing "dorky."

when I look at pictures of guys on here I'd like to talk to style plays a big factor, I can tell a lot about them from how they are dressed.

I've always been crazy about clothes, it's my biggest vice in life.

Oops! With the hot summer we have had this year and I have no a/c in my one year old car, I went out on a first date with a casual pair of shorts and layered tanks and matching thongs. ( for the feet ). We went out on several more dates. He even took me back to the restaurant that we had our first date on. I did let him know I didn't have a/c in my car and we both laughed about new cars that still don't have a/c in them. He dressed very nice and casual and is classy. Thank goodness he didn't mind the shorts and appreciated me over this. But, overalls. Don't like them unless they are on a farm. BYW, he came into my place of business and we wear t shirts and khakis for work and asked my out until I said yes. I am so glad he did. He is well worth knowing.

The worst dressed...a guy who showed up in "Urkel" jeans (extremely high waisted and at least 4 inches too short in length), a plaid flannel shirt tucked tightly into those jeans, and white tennis shoes. Ugh.

Best dressed...I'm a sucker for a guy in a pair of vintage wash jeans and a button-up shirt. Of course, a nicely dressed up guy is sexy too.

To Krissy....I think you are absolutely right...and I'm a big clothes horse myself...and it is one of vices, too....

as for what guys wear on the first meeting: hawaiian shirts with shorts, sandals with white socks...

dressy clothes with any kind of sneakers.....

both are big turn offs for me........

And as for capris.....I love 'em with a pair of heels, and I do have great legs, so it does work for me....hope Im not considered "dorky"!

I usually dress slightly more casual for a date. I have a nice pair of black jeans that haven't faded because I don't wear them often. They're perfect for a "not quite formal, not quite casual" situation. I used to go to church a lot, and still have most of those "churchy" clothes. I tend to not wear them much since they make me feel as though I'm going out to church again. I wouldn't hesitate to be "dressed up" for an appropriate date though. I can't imagine that there are people who don't shower, or at least try to look well-groomed, for a date. Unless you're going mini-golfing, to the monster truck rally, out boating...

I don't think I've had a really badly dressed date before... or a really well-dressed date either. I envy the guy whose date showed up in a leather skirt and boots and all.

The best I've ever looked was when I showed up a pair of Urkel jeans (extermely high waisted and at least 4 inches too short in length) with my plaid flannel shirt tucked tightly into my jeans and I wore my brand new white tennis shoes. Man that chick was ALL over me.

Just my thought, but I'd be willing to bet you'll find a WHOLE lot more of us guys who would call it "sexy" then you would that guy who claims its "dorky" (while wearing his LOUD Hawaiian print shirt!)

maybe its just me but i do think capris are weird. I have hot legs too and i would rather wear shorts and a short skirt than some capris!! They are kinda for the "older" crowd

My best friend once had a first meeting with a man she met off of another dating site. For safety issues I went with her, as she was meeting him at a bar/grill that I had been to a few times. When he finally showed up nearly 45 minutes late (we were not necessarily still waiting on him by this point), he somehow got past the bouncers without a dress code check OR an i.d., and came in wearing a spandex biking suit with worn out black tennis shoes, sunglasses still on (it was 10 p.m.), and his bluetooth firmly glued to his ear. My beer nearly came out my nose when I realized that it was her date. To top it all off, he was actually riding a bicycle and had the nerve to ask my friend to take him home when they were done. The look on her face was priceless.
