Posted: 9/6/2007 7:35:34 PM | I am considered a brunette but with reddish highlights in my hair, so one day a while back I decided I wanted to be a all out red head. I did the strawberry blonde for a while but got tired of the roots so now I am a medium/dark auburn. I have to show pictures of myself as a brunette because no one believes my hair color is not my true hair color. I love being a red head. I cant really say I get more attention, but I get a lot of compliments on my hair color from men on these dating sights. I think it bring out the blue in my eyes better. I dated a red headed guy and we had a daughter together, but she didnt get his red hair. My mom and my grandmother both color their hair red as well, and so did my sister for a bit.

Posted: 9/6/2007 8:08:29 PM | Like many have said, it has to do with it being 'rare'. But to expand on that, due to it being unique, it turns into a type of fetish for many guys.
For me... I absolutely love red heads. The brighter, the better... by birth or by bottle.
It has a lot to do with the fact that I'm colorblind, so I have always had a thing for bright colors.

But growing up you got labeled carrot top and all sorts of other sad names so I went with the flow. Love my red hair now. I always considered myself a dirty blonde/light brown until people started calling me a redhead. Now I think it's reddish. Because it actually is reddish or because people tell me it's reddish? And do they think it's red because it's red or because I'm pale, freckled, and bookish? *quirks eyebrow* It's probably red. | |

Though oddly enough, red facial hair seems to be dominant among men of Irish descent... Dark as it may be, it's a distinct shade of red given a full beard, no matter how dark the hair on the head might be. | |

I myself love redheads, freckles are beautiful and very sexy but not a requirement necessarily..but I don't ONLY like redheads. I wouldn't not date someone because she wasn't red but there is something different about reds. Maybe it's wrong to generalize but I have found that many redheads, besides having that "fiery" personality are also very intelligent and have vivid imaginations ('artsy"). Maybe it's nurture (environment) over nature (inborn shared characteristics)when it comes to those traits, but I have noticed a correlation between those traits . | |

I've always found the "pasty white girls" with natural red hair and freckles to be *amazingly* attractive.
However, every time I've dated one she's been a total head case - the two aspects seem to go hand-in-hand a little too frequently I'm afraid :( | |

i think it probably has something to do with the fact that redhair is in the minority. you see blonds and brunettes everywhere, but redheads are more rare.
might have something to do with the fact that redheads have a notorious reputation for being very wild in bed.
What a stupid thing to say!!! Anyone can be a brunette, blonde or redhead today!! And did u know that real blondes are a minority as well? | |
