It would seem to me that if your answer to the first question was "If their native country sought to exterminate that particular race- absolutely", then you certainly must also admit the same answer for the second question concerning the Native Americans. | |

The main reason at the time was Israel ,, with a connected second reason Turkey (a NATO member),,,
Why ,,,,, because at the time the USA had a NO FLY policy in IRAQ -
Remember this was not long after the first Gulf War and before 9/11-
as part of the surrender there were TWO no fly zones in Iraq -
the North and South --- the South is easy to maintain a base of operations -
you have Saudi Arabia and Kuwait --- both beholding to the USA ! (in a big way)
in the North there was Turkey who could be bought at any time (for the right price)
by the USA or Russia ,,,,
by this time the Soviet influence in the region was null ---
However I do give the Russians credit for showing all they are still a power
by capturing the Airport in Kosovo/Serbia before the Americans could --
So although the Serbs ,, are ethnically cousins of the Greeks who are in NATO
and although the Kosovars were cousins to the Albanians neither of which had
a particular value on the World scene ,,, The USA steps in not because of humanity
but simply because the Turks demanded this as part of the payment for allowing
US War Planes on their soil ... The Turks are Muslim and are the root of both
the Kosovars and Albanians --- The migration West started at the fall of the Byzantine Empire---
So ,, In order to keep Iraq from attacking Israel ,,
and to maintain a airbase in Turkey in order to keep Iraq from flying -
The deal with the TURKS was to help the lonely Kosovars ---
You see with Greece and Turkey both in NATO and with some history between them-
Should the TURKS had come to the Aid of Kosovo the entire region would have erupted into war........
The USA ,, world Police at a price will do anything in order to protect Israel even going to bed with the Muslim Turks ........

They will be burnt down and destroyed.

Would you be in favor of the independence of 329 minorities in Europe?
Why not if these minorities have strong national self-awareness, they have maintained own culture - and often even the language - and they are majority in an area (and had lived in the area centuries before "the others" arrived)... and they are ready to work for their future as an independent nation.
When you have very little to share with the dominant culture, and you do not feel you are equal with the majority... why should you stay and slow down your development as a group? | |

We will not have the luxury to not do this. How will this help us or our children in the future? I didn't know that we ran Kosovo. Surely this will improve intelligence co-operation for us in this part of the world.

George Bush is in charge now. He alone apparently is making this decision. Bill Clinton is no longer the decider. " George Bush is the decider ". I guess if things go terribly wrong here, then we can use subterfuge and blame it on Bill Clinton. George W. Bush sure as hell doesn't seem to be accountable for anything. He gets to be the "decider" without ever being held accountable for any of his decisions. 8 years in office and we've forgotten Reagan already. Remember when he asked us, " Are you better off now then you were 4 years ago" ? Me and the millions of Americans that are now losing their homes are answering, " Hell No ". But I must point out that the Oil Industry is better off then it was 4 years ago.
I love it when these Guys are losing their houses and they still go down swinging for these right-wing nut cases. These idiots are soothed as long as they are told, " Oh, you're smart (even though you're losing your house), it's those idiots over there (that are losing their house) who are stupid " . Even though you are in the same boat that they are in you should feel good about yourself because you're not going to be an idiot (like them) and move politically to vote in your own economic interest. of which I was educated in USA have no idea of World history.
Or for that matter the history of their own country---
The History or the Area that was known as Yugoslavia
is incredibly complex...
As for Kosovo,,, without a "complete knowledge" of the
Ottoman & Byzantine Empires ,, the fall of Constantinople,
the Schism of The Church and the reign of TITO
you probably shouldn't even post here...
Many people would want to stop the Barbarians from the East
and their ethnic cousins from this type if Western Aided take-over....
As for Mexico --- what a comparison...
We bought Florida, Louisiana and Alaska from respective Nations...
We had a Trumped up War with the Mexicans beginning with altercations
in the 1830's and by the mid 1840's had taken the American West from
Mexico -- A land mass extending from the Alamo to San Fransisco....
In the end we gave the Mexican crumbs in comparison to what we gave the Russians
at the same time for Alaska...
