I'd also wonder if he was a high maintenance guy who required a lot of ego stroking about his appearance.
I am sure there would be a line up of superficial women to stroke his ego for him , you just have to ask yourself would you be able to handle the "competition" from them for his time and attention.

I would much rather get to know the guy (with his shirt on) first...then he can unwrap the package and let his big muscles be an added bonus. | |

why should it bother you if you are 100 % correct all the time about these men(which you are NOT )
women dont want players anyway -- you should be happy that your so talented to know that everyman that is muscular and in shape is a player
you can bypass those in shape men and concentrate your efforts on the underweight weedy guys and obese guys -- this will save you time and dissapointments and you will get what you want -- a non player, in fact these men are then doing you a favour -- you should thank them
tell me - when you see a person of middle eastern decent -- do you automatically asume they are a terrorist - and are you 100 % correct each time -? if you are great - there is no end of government agencies that could use those self proclaimed talents and abilities | |

Posted: 9/24/2007 10:35:59 AM | Ahh yes this old chesnut! To chest or not to chest...Personally since I've had my present pic up I've had way more hits and women emailing me. On the down side it slearly puts some women off, but would they have looked twice at me anyway?
When I had a normla face pic I used to have quite a few say 5-10% of my emails deleted unread. Now people at least read my message and view my profile before deleting!
But I thin kthe point is some women like it, others hate it. You will probably attract more attention from women who are after s3x rather than a relationship and many people will instantly take a view that you are a player.
However, having said all that I think girls go off looks just as much as men and a good profile pic always seems to generate at least a bit of interest.
Well that's my two pence worth anyway...

Now THAT I agree with. It does come off as a slab of meat when a guy has up "torso" pics without their head in the picture. In my book the body and the face have to be hot...together.
Still, if the profile is either too overtly sexual or not of much substance, I call it eye candy, appreciate it for what it is (maybe even bookmark it for future ogling) and then move on.

I have to say PLEASE.. you guys who are shirtless sitting at your computer desk or otherwise ... it has a look of a nude perv waiting to pounce on the next female who shows any interest. Almost a "flasher" mentality. Now... if you are on the beach or otherwise shirtless for the appropriate situation I guess it can be just fine. I'm a big girl and I assure you I won't subject anybody to anything less than full clothing hahaa. | |

Some good, some shouldn't be allowed. Men standing in bathrooms with nothing on but a smile taking a cheesy cell phone pic should be smacked senseless. Especially when the spare tire they are sporting is oh so visible. Zzzzzzzzzz.
I don't get it.
PoF TOS states no nudity. You don't see women here completely nude from the waist up.

100% of the time you are right? So I take it you meet and get to know all these guys to find this out? No? That's what I thought. Hey! Cheers to the first totally illogical post I've read in the New Year!
OT: There are lots of reasons for a guy to post a photo with his shirt off showing his muscles. Some are into fitness. Some are vain. Some are thumbing their noses at convention and using it as a sort of "reverse filter" to avoid the type of people they wouldn't like, anyway. Personally, I decide that by reading their profile and possibly their forum posts. | |

does it matter what else is on the profile before you make that important judgement in deciding if you are interested? Do muscles/defenition ever play a large enough role in getting you interested in the person when you normally would not be?
No. While for aesthetic reasons I wouldn't date anyone grossly overweight the part of his body I am mostly interested in is his brain. And too many muscles can actually be a turn off - in case his picture screams "steroid using gym rat" - not interested in that either. | |

I just click on to the next profile. Same thing applies when they have pictures of them drinking at parties/clubs looking a bit inebriated. I mean, if you're on this site, you're not looking for that immature type person, so why would you show off pictures like that, when it's very immature? Same thing applies to girls that post pictures half naked, half drunk. They [guys and girls] always wonder why they can't find a "mature person". | |

Many people like to put photos of fast cars, motorbikes, pets etc on this site, whats the difference with pictures depicting a fitness lifestyle?
I personally find most gym goers to be among the most down to earth people I know with good morals and a good work ethic.
I like how many women would think that they wouldn't measure up and skip the profiles of fit looking guys in fear of being too 'fat' for them.
I personally like curvier women and don't mind if she carries a few extra pounds, just because I am heavily into fitness, doesn't mean I am only attracted to slim athletic women. My ex was very big in the hips, butt and I loved it. She still looked after herself, it was her bodytype. I loved it and it definately wasn't the reason we broke up over 2 years ago now.
