I am from the Canadian cowboy country above Montana cowboy country!!!! It's called Alberta.......home to the CALGARY STAMPEDE!!!! and if you have never heard of that...then you MUST have heard about BANFF, Alberta....
Well I don't live near there either....I live on the east side of the province.... about 190 miles east of Calgary......out on the range of the prairies.....
or if you know where Great Falls, Montana is......well look up.......waaaaayyyy up.....and you will see Medicine Hat just about straight up from there!!! Now THAT'S where I hang my hat!!!!
Boston????? Some day I might make it there....but I doubt it...I can think of other places I would pick first....lol | |

Weeks went by and the Montana Mountain Men ( M&M's) - that's what they were calling themselves - had been watching 'round the clock. The guys were getting restless and bored. They had endless discussions and had come up with tons of plans on how they were gonna run these fast city women away. They even formed a committee to remove all Mr. Bubble, Jean Nate' and Miss Clairol from store shelves. Without the conveniences of home they figured those gals wouldn't be much for these parts.
Back in Boston Mareena had gathered a large group of women with tales of strong, handsome, cowboys. She had convinced the women that they should learn a whole bunch of outdoor type skills so she took everyone to her old girl scout camp.
"Honestly Mareena what do stuipid girl scout skills have to do with us going to Montana?" asked Kaysi, Alissa and Caroline, three friends who had come from New York.
"Look you don't wanna' go up to Montana all wimpy and stuff? There's a guy down there named Crash who is into primitive survival skills. Don't you want to impress him? Do you think Montana men want women who spend all their time strategizing over how to get the best price on Coach Bags and Prada sunglasses?" Mareena shot back in disgust.
Finally everyone was ready and they set out on their trek to Montana on horses borrowed from local animal shelters.
" Mareena why couldn't we just fly to Montana why do we have to ride down on all these broke down shelter horses?" asked Caroline.
" Caroline these horses need a start on a new life. So I figured we could ride them to Montana and leave them to run free and I wish you wouldn't call them broke down!" yelled Mareena.
"Mareena we can call these the brokeback mountain horses of Montana. At least that is what yours will be after riding your fat a$$ all the way there." replied Caroline with a fake smile. Mareena made a mental note to let any Montana guys who liked Caroline know that she had hair extensions after that comment.
"OOhhh I just loved that movie those guys were hot." Kaysi piped in.
"Those guys were gay Kaysi!" Caroline shot back.
"Caroline they were still hot and not all the men in the movie were gay and I'll take a hot gay cowboy over..." Kaysi never got to finish because almost everyone yelled "Shut-up Kaysi!!!!" in unison.
"BTW Mareena what's up with those flat black ugly orthopaedic looking Rockport style walking shoes?" asked one of the women.
Mareena replied: "For goodness sakes do you think you are gonna be runnin' all over Montana in high heels?
Someone in the back of the pack shouted, "Mareena ...Montana men, like all men, want women who look and act like women. Don't you read the POF forums?"
In the meantime after weeks of waiting the Montana men spotted the large group of women riding some of the saddest, homeliest, horses they had ever seen. They watched as a few women got off their horses and started walking toward a little stream. They also saw them fall down. The men rushed into action to go to their rescue, not worried about them being fast city women, not after they got a look at all those breast implants.
The men started carrying the fallen women back to their camp to check them out for injuries. Mareena was just about the only one who hadn't been carried off by some guy and yelled "hey guys what about me???" The men took one look at her and her unenhanced breasts and sensible black shoes and said, "sorry Ma'am but women in stilettos first...."

OMG Mareena!!!!! You have the makings of the next hit movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe us Alberta women should head on down to Montana and see if we can hustle up the men for us...... some of us up here in Canadian cow country might be a little bit citified but most of us were bred and born as dust bunnies on the dryland farms of Saskatchewan!!!! So we probably know more than you Boston gals on how to please a cowboy!! lol
Now I will let you in on a secret......I would not mention any brokeback comments around there.....it is REDNECK country just like up here!!!!! lol

Posted: 7/28/2008 9:50:35 PM | Wow, I didn't know there was a Montana forum either ! Obviously we all have lives down here when it's not 20 below F and we're huddled away inside next to the roaring fireplaces because we cannot afford to pay for gas to heat the house... is it time to move South ?
Billings is doing fine.. went to Butte a couple weeks ago for the Natl folk festival and danced til my feet hurt to reggae, blues, jazz, cuban, and others.. why can't BILLINGS do that ??? It was all FREE ! in BUTTE no less ! Went to the Red Elvises Friday here. They were awesome ! Too bad the guy I went with turned out to be not so awesome but I'll save that thread for lonely hearts...
Ya'll take care and I don't think the men are ALL looking for the sheep.. a few of them are checking out the cows too... BEsides, I think that is referring to WYOMING .. not MT.. | |

I love it -different compared to hAWAII-daylight savings not yet adjusted to it after those years.
People are very nice and friendly and they treat me very nice and excepted me.
I love montana becuase it's the last of God's country.
The town I'm in KALISPELL is an awesome place to live-Glacier Park, Big Mountain-Whitefish. the FLATHEAD Lake. Polson-driving 2 more hours Missoula, everything I can imagine-there's alot happenings too, hiking, boating sking,fishing you name it it's all here.
People here is so nice , partying safe is cool., meeting people that you want to party with safe is great! | |

Dazil and ddiesel, you should be ashamed of yourselves, stirring up the waters of the Missouri like that.
I go looking for a little fishing south of the border and what do I find but my camping friends goading the good people of the south. I see by the way you didn't have a whole lot of success. I must admit the thread is a little quiet.
I'm thinking that the good POFers of Montana should jump the border and come to our campout next year at Elkwater. We can show them how neighborly we can be.
To all you Montanans (did I get that right ?) please forgive my friends for crossing the line they are wonderful people but they do like to stir up the sh..pot now and again.
....but they do have a point....

You have to be supermodel thin, blonde, giggly and not want any "strings". If you're educated or opinionated, just forget even leaving the house.
Or at least that's all I've encountered here. In fact, I know many single women in the area who are all fabulous and are considering moving away to meet single men before we are too old to have kids. It's a frickin' joke!!
There are no singles events, one singles "activity" group that hasn't met since last april.
**Sigh** - and you all wonder why I'm so bored here....
