If you could only have five..........Page 5 of 7    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
Hmmm...you can grow onion, garlic, bay, basil, celery seed, carrot leaves, and red pepper; and there is a wild alternative to black pepper. I'd have to say:

1. Tarragon
2. Oregano
3. Rosemary
4. Cumin
5. Marjoram

...of course, those can be grown as well...arrrgh!

OK, a list of five that I can't grow...

1. Chocolate
2. Lemon
3. Orange
4. Dulse
5. Vanilla

???

Lawry's steak seasoning. ( I use it on hamburgers, steaks, meatloaf, and in spaghetti sauce) Emerill's fish rub. (of course, on fish, awesome on salmon) garlic powder, italian seasoning, and chili powder. Need any menu ideas, message me, I'm full of them. I could probably make a meal of whatever you have in your cabinets.

Sea salt, pepper, dill, garlic, then something hot like cayenne powder/red pepper flakes. Ooh, or can I pick sriracha? It's a condiment, not a spice but I'll take that.

Easy. Garlic (my favorite), Cumin, Pepper (black), Cayenne Pepper, Oregano.
Garlic qualifies as a spice and an herb, right? I wanted to use Bay Leaf cause I use them so much in my cooking but it pretty much is an herb isn't it?

In my kitchen, I can have many different seasonings. But when I go backpacking, space, weight and impact become paramount.
In my camping 'spice' kit I carry salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, and cinnamon (thats only four). Depending on the menu, I'll bring along curry mix, basil, cumin, or cayenne pepper.

I may not be a good cook but I love to stir the pot. Does that count?

Depends, Fluke.

Do you stir it slow and easy...or fast and furiously?
Depending on what you are cooking it makes a difference.

He gave the recipe up , along with "Rustic Rub" and another one I forget on Food network's site , long before I ever saw it in stores .
People would rather buy it than make their own .

Here's "Herb de Provence " from greeneye's " one count" ....

1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon marjoram
1 tablespoon summer savory
1 tablespoon thyme
1 crushed bay leaf
1 teaspoon lavender
1 teaspoon fennel
