Irsshadow-

Ok...I get that you don't want to accept certain fact...I have seen that in previous threads.
Blind patriotism is dangerous, so dangerous that most people think that they are just being sensible. Good luck with that, I pray that one day when the sky is falling that you are not in denial then as well.

aahhh you know I am a patriot and have put my life on the line many times for The United States of America, well for the facts lets see them. I have done research and stayed informed on current events for over 10 years. I will not base political decisions from rhetoric, conjecture, and opinions. Just the facts please, who is the blind one.

It sound like you have really bought into the idea that anyone who disagrees no matter how much information and research they have to formulate a position they will inevitably fall into one of the wonderful categories, redneck, racist, blind patriot, bible thumper, war monger, terrorist, imperialist, ect. I would further surmise that using such labeling only demonstrates your surrender to having a discussion based in fact and truth.

I have absolutely no problem with accepting the facts would just like to see them.

Putting your "life on the line" for this country?

Are you a police officer or a fireman?
If so, I give you much praise and credit for your service to this country.
And apologize if you believe I called your patriotism into question.
If you have defended United States borders, then I apologize.

If you were a soldier in a volunteer army however....I have a differing opinion.

What do you think would happen if nobody stepped up to the plate and we had no Army or ,military service. I have never been so proud of what I have done. If I had to do it all over again, I'd ask where do I sign. You forget about our past and our history of what made us the world economic and military leader, its our history, allied nations, and forien policy, anmd those who haev givin their lives for our freedom. And about giving praise to the police officers and fire fighters, 76% of those positions in the US are filled by prior service members. And if Bush is such a horrible President and shouldn't be sending our TROOPS to die and murder in IRAQ, then why is over 85% of our military voting for him? BECAUSE WE LOVE TO SERVE SUCH A GREAT MAN. We know hes doing the right thing. We know that as long as he is in power, our families are safe to lay down their heads at night and live without fear. You should be thankful that you have a President that uses his power to protect us, and not keep us here on bases just waiting to be attacked before we do something about it, you should be glad that he is willing to take the initiative. I sure am.

I think you don't hold military personal in high regard because you misunderstand what the military does and what they are about. Those people in the military are not there to kill people and blow stuff up. They are there to make a difference, stop the murder in other countries, protect diplomats so that there can be peace, find and capture people indicted for war crimes, stop genocide, and they do all this with little pay and almost no recognition. One of the first things I discovered from being in the military is how misunderstood it is.

Ok.

Shooting the Iraqi resistance members does not keep America free.

Iraq has nothing to do with the United States.

You're real threats are:
---------------------------

Economic tide-turning, with China taking the lead in engineering, computers.

Saudi Arabia. Because it's going to fall to militants, and then you'll truly be ****ed. With each bomb that blows up fallujah, another 20 rich Saudi men with nothing to do are recruited for eternal Jihad/revenge against the U.S.

GWB should be getting out of the oil business completely and pushing as much money as possible into developing alternative fuel. **** oil, it's gonna disappear one day anyways.

Hey,
I agree that a turn in the Economic tide is a threat but its not going to happen. yes China is a economical powerhouse in the world, but being a economics major, and almost recieving my degree (only 33 units left) I know for a fact that the U.S. was able to implant our economic structure so many places outside the U.S. that our incomming revenue from international business can't be overturned, we got in early, at the beginning and wont be overan.

I am in the 3rd Marines, we are a special ops ground unit getting ready to do our second term in Iraq and I can tell you personally, not what you see or read in the supermarket tabloids, or on the news, that Saudi Arabia is not a major threat, since 1994-5 they have lost all power to wage any type of attack on the U.S. all they can do is warn us of events that wont ever happen, and believe me, if something was going happen, we, the 3rd Marines would know about it and one of 26 different teams in our division would probably be paying someone a visit...

in case you didn't know we are not killing Iraqi Freedom Fighters They are foreigners who have infiltrated into Iraq. Zarcowi the man who has personally been beheading the hostages is a foreign terrorist operating in Iraq and responsible for the attacks. Most of the terrorist are being killed and captured by Iraqi police and military that the US has already trained. About 125,000 of them are operating in Iraq currently.

" think this whole mess is absolutely ridiculous... Of course it was not right for them to attack on September 11th, especially considering they are fighting against battles that go so far back that it becomes hard to remember what this is about in the first place..."

Iraq never attacked us... what a mess, indeed!
