| Why do women who show cleavage get upset when a guy stares at their breasts? Posted: 10/9/2007 7:23:25 PM | As a society we have social norms for what is considered vulgar, lewd, sexy, normal, disasterous etc. I find it interesting when someone breaks a social norm and then cries foul for being perceived differently from what they are... or what they claim to be.
This doesn't mean that we all should conform, God knows I am the last of the conformist, what it means is that if you are going to step outside the norms you need to be able to take ownership for doing so, understand the consequences and be willing to take the heat for being "misunderstood"
i certainly take ownership of what i do. know that much. what i refuse to do is take ownership of common place misconceptions wrought with narrowminded conformist thinking. if taking the heat includes me agreeing with those narrowminded ppl then no, thats not going to happen. "conformity for the sake of it is for those who lack original thought and courage to be unique" you come across as a fairly intelligent bloke, so lets go here,, how come your side gets to be right and its not even remotely possible that the commonplace misguided notions of a second in time image is a false assessment of the person in the picture? why is it that you all dont seem to be able to think outside the box and that is somehow my responsibility? i would expect an educated person to take the time to consider that maybe the gut first reaction isnt all that accurate. i would expect an educated person to look deeper, to investigate a bit more, or to at least not jump to narrowminded conclusions.

Posted: 10/9/2007 9:50:04 PM | Looking (reasonable stare)....nothing wrong with it... but the blank stare and drooling....obviously the guy didn't get enough nursing in as a baby... If the women get upset, it's probably just false modesty or just a game-player so why worry about it. If a woman has nice breasts, why not show them off a little....

| Why do women who show cleavage get upset when a guy stares at their breasts? Posted: 10/10/2007 1:32:25 PM | Sometimes it has nothing to do with staring at them in a sexual way.Its like trying to have a conversation with someone who has a huge tumor on their neck or something. Its just uncomfortable.Honestly if its that noticable I usually make a comment about it.In a funny sort of way, ofcourse. It always gets a laugh and breaks the ice.Ive never had anyone get mad about it.Women know it can be distracting for men when you are trying to carry on some sort of a conversation.I just do it so I dont feel the need to keep my eyes focused in one place. It just feels restricting.Almost like being in a straight jacket and trying to have a good talk at the same time.It doesnt work out too well.
....and besides isnt it flattering to look? If you arent being a douche bag and making rude comments then all is good.

| Why do women who show cleavage get upset when a guy stares at their breasts? Posted: 10/10/2007 6:30:28 PM | Your talking about 'little' girls who tut as an 'attempted' power trip. Mature people see right through this. And as is written in this forum, most 'women' agree.. mr. dynomite hit the nail on the head.. "You get what you attract. Change your bait if you can't handle it".

| Why do women who show cleavage get upset when a guy stares at their breasts? Posted: 10/10/2007 10:30:06 PM | | your right sunbirdus.. it is just a part of the body.. well its a little more than that. I never posted the subject, I'm only replying to a question.. actually I'm kind of confused why you would even address me on this issue. Someone asked the question of why 'some' girls flaunt what their mamma gave em, and then tut when guys have a glance (not in those exact words).. I feel for the guy.. I by no means stare, but if I see a set of tits, full cleavage showing, bounce by me.. I, like almost every straight guy in this entire world, am going to have a glance, and most girls dont mind a 'glance'.. for a girl to try and belittle you by tut-ing isnt fair, and probably lowers the guys mood for a while. I'm basically saying, "guys, dont worry about it." Some girls are like that, whom I dub as having other issues. To get back to your question, "a breast or cleavage is just a part of a body...whats the big deal"... its called attraction.. we as humans are naturally attracted to curves.. women like abs, biceps, shoulders and the like.. guys like breasts, hips, lips, etc.. It's biology, the way we are designed.. guys are obviously more attracted to physical beauty than women.. I guess thats why girls are prettier than guys ;-) Women tend to be attracted more towards emotional feeling and chemistry. I do think this post is unnesessary.. but you asked the question. I'll always find something tranquil about a womans breasts.. I just cant help it. If I had a 6 pack, which I dont, and went out for a walk with my shirt off, tut-ing at every girl who had a glance.. what would I look like? How would I seem? The words idiot, moron, put your damn shit back on a**hole, come to mind. | |

Womens' breasts evolved to draw male attention. That's why they exist. If women have problems with men focusing on breasts, they're ignorant of reality or denying it.
(And no, breasts in mammals did not evolve for milk production. The mammary glands did. Mammary glands are *in* breasts, but one doesn't need to be a B+ cup to adequately produce milk. In humans, the breasts are a secondary sex characteristic used to attract mates.)
If human female breasts were selected for to draw male attention, then female breasts would be sexualized cross-culturally. However, breasts as sexual objects is primarily a Western phenomenon. Think of cultures where female breasts are permanently exposed, long and sagging (peruse a few National Geographic for examples). In those cultures, breasts are merely functional (feeding babies), not sexual. Think of Japan and traditional female clothing - breasts were not emphasized at all. With the advent of Western values within Japan, breasts became sexualized.
On another angle, in all species where an imbalance of available opposite sex reproductive mates exists, the more readily available sex is the one that must compete through either appearance or by fighting off rivals. In humans, within the sexually reproductive age range, a large proportion of females are pregnant, nursing or occupied with small children. Male humans, however, are available and ready to sow their oats just a short time after mating with a female....
Human males don't go for the peacock plumage, they fight of rivals by being successful. In hunter gatherer times, this meant being the hunter that brought home the bacon. This guy has a large number of the"best" females available to him..... The less successful hunters have fewer females available and lots of other not so great hunters trying to attract those females too.......

Posted: 10/14/2007 9:31:38 AM | | I once went into a doctor's office and I saw that the two girls working there were dressed in a way to purposely show off what they had. It's one thing to go out somewhere and be dressed like that. But it is very inappropriate attire for work. Needless to say, I never went inside that doctor's office again. I don't need to see that when I go see my doctor.

| Why do women who show cleavage get upset when a guy stares at their breasts? Posted: 10/14/2007 5:39:52 PM | Well i have big breasts, and i do like to show them off, but sometimes i cant help it... they have a mind of their own...lol
I think that its only natural for a guy to look, i think i would actually be offended if he didn't look when i have got them on show. Not saying im slutty or anything, i just know my major assets... and know how to show them.. So i dont know why girls do it then get annoyed.. i think they are just going for attention and dont know what to do with it when they have it.

Posted: 10/15/2007 12:58:18 PM | | to answer your question, when l wear a low cut top its not impress you guys, its because l feel good in it and like the wy it looks, l know you men are gonna look, its a natural thing, l juess l kinda exspect it, it doesnt bother me but if im talking to you, l exspect you to look at my eyes not my breasts so look just dont make it the only thing you look at, because if a women is talking to you, and your looking someone else other then her eyes yeah l can see how that would piss her off, but if your not doing that, and keeping your staring on the down low women have to exspect men are gonna look and its fine so just be smart about it, and dont act like you've never seen a pair of boobs before!! plus keep in mind, there only boobs they dont look like that with out the bra! lol
