Eyes are important. Wouldn't bother me a bit that his were open. At least he knows he's with YOU and not someone else. Besides looking in one another's eyes is a part of intimacy and good, passionate kissing.
Consider one of the alternatives...while you are getting all hot and turned on by this great kiss you're sharing with him, he could be looking at the TV trying to catch the score of the ball game....which do you prefer? Eyes on you or on the ball game? | |

Men tend to be more visual than most women so the guy would most likely be the one looking. Women are so beautiful, it just adds more to the experience. I can understand how you felt.
