| dating a vegan/vegetarian? Posted: 10/8/2008 5:32:15 PM | Hey Steve, I think it's important that you can respect her decision to be a vegetarian if you plan on spending any time with her. I have a few friends that are vegetarian and I even got tricked into going to a veggie all you can eat (fake meat did not trick me). I'm sure things will be fine if you talk to her and just find out how extreme her beliefs are. It may be early days yet, but you may have to change your habits when you spend time with her so you need to find out if that's something you're willing to do. | |

| dating a vegan/vegetarian? Posted: 10/9/2008 12:59:16 AM | i did once date a vegetarian .. she was slightly unhinged and actually quite bonkers but also one of my top ten people of all time ... so from my limited experience with them i would have to say that veggies are ok ... it's not for me because i do enjoy meat .. but anyone who has an interest in animal welfare can't be a bad person !

If I could get vegi meat that tasted as good as real meat, with all the goodness and all the bad bits like fat gone, then I would never eat meat again.
I suppose that day will come soon!

| dating a vegan/vegetarian? Posted: 10/22/2008 4:52:31 AM | go for asian food...indian restaurants in especial....or muslim if you can find them...since a lot of them cater for people who don't eat meat but have meat dishes on the menu for those that do..i also find most are willing to accomodate.
in fact now that i've typed that i think most food outlets are catered to both, so you should just treat it like any other date.

| dating a vegan/vegetarian? Posted: 11/2/2008 5:07:29 AM | Dating a vegetarian can be OK. In fact, as said in previous posts, the Indian and similar restaurants seem to have a wonderful vegetarian selection on their menus.
The one warning I will offer up though, is to beware of the Vegetarian Sausage Mix! It used to be called something like "SOSMIX" and if it is still on sale, I hope they have altered the formula.
This stuff was explosive! It caused me almost instant, uncontrollable and prolonged FLATULENCE! It was so bad for almost three days after eating, they should have had a warning on the pack!
It was SO bad that I have my suspicions that it was a major contributor to global warming!
You have been warned!!!!!!
