The third date will not be materializing. He felt our second meeting..as I viewed it..a quick lunch date..wasn't "romantic" enough. Nice way of saying..I'm just not feeling what I thought/hoped I would? Actually..I was thinking the same thing..since..even when reminded..he couldn't get my name down..

Been on a few "dates" from this site...and always starting "as friends". Fine with me since that is a great way to start, If the "chemistry" isn't there you feel/sense that right off the bat.
Couple of the guys I am now friends with.... I really enjoy their personality and intellect.
Couple of the guys (nicest guys one could meet!) were just "not my type" as far as compatible with my personality/lifestyle.
As for now...it's the Forums..sigh.

Posted: 11/9/2007 11:36:17 AM | After years of being on my own and doing the occassion coffee meeting I was foruntate to meet someone and dated for 4 months, chemistry was there so easily right from the start, I felt so alive again, holding hands, shopping together, just having someone to walk beside. It was beautiful...........

I have been seeing a guy now for a month . (wow a record) I like him a lot we are going to see if it goes anywhere. more than I could ask for, he make me pretty happy | |

Maybe some of the guys are just frigging blind!? As I said to another lady recently, I know it isn’t quite the same when another woman says it, but if objective females can see physical “attractiveness” in another female there has to be some men that would see it, too. I hope I look that good when I am over 50, hell, I don’t look all that great now, but even I have gotten tons of contacts and a lot of dates. Maybe there are more available (heck there are even some “unavailable) males in my area that are looking than some of the other ladies, but if I can generate quite a bit interest than surely someone attractive that has a much, MUCH better figure than I do should be able to get some dates and even get one to stick around for awhile. | |

For a while i was seeing two different woman. Yes they knew I was not seeing them exclusivly. Right now I am seeing only one. We enjoy each others company a lot. Is she the one? Still to early to tell. Just enjoying the moment and neither one of us are talking long term plans. | |

He also claimed to be scared because I sent him a copy of the morning IM we shared..as I use it as a friendly..friendly being the operative word..reminder as to the when..and especially the where we were to meet. I was unfamiliar with the place he suggested for lunch and he tried using different landmarks near there as a place to meet..then go on to lunch. I thought I was doing good..being spontaneous..and considerate..since he waited till that morning to even ask me to lunch that afternoon. I sent myself a copy as a reference as well. Then he wanted to know why I was..saving..the IM's. I asked him who said I was saving it??? Besides..I'll save whatever I want on MY own pc..thank you! Can you say paranoid and controlling? OMG!
He was soooo not right for me. I think he had a new little  on the line..and..was trying anything to get out of..dating..me.. | |

You're almost fifty, you can't tell me that your memory still works well.
Every so often I'll get stuck to a certain word or spelling and that's it.
It just stays that way over and over.
"Hello, Carol... oops, I mean Red".
If you make that a red flag, then change your age range to 15-to-35.
Yes, I have an occasional follow-up date from speed-dating or itsjustlunch.
But in the past month... I don't care very much.
I think it's partly from reading this site and re-evaluating my odds.
It's more satisfying to sit and read and laugh, or soak in the hot tub, or sit at the restaurant & coffee shop reading & doing work stuff. That's what I'll do tonight.
Too bad the only "club" around here is a biker bar
Biker bars can be fun.

Seems your either too far away, too short, Hair too long, not good looking enough, not perfect teeth, not perfect this or that it gets really confusing and frustrating sometimes but you still have to give it your best and hope some day you'll trip over at least one woman that likes you. | |

Posted: 1/4/2008 6:26:34 AM | I'm under 45 but I'd like to share. I came to internet dating after a five year relationship with my college sweetheart ended. I'm 23.
I have met fifteen guys off online dating. Some from here. Some from Match, JDate, MySpace even.
Out of fifteen, six or seven called me again, either wanting to continue dating me or just wanting friends with benefits. The remainder did not call again and I did not call them; sometimes, you just can't force a spark, and it's best to just let a failed first date go with the knowledge that you learned from it.
Some successful dates:
One guy took me to an arcade, spun me around on a stool and won thousands of prize tickets on a game, which he traded in for a huge Care Bear doll for me. He also took me to see "Juno" and presented me with a limited-edition movie poster.
One guy took me to a seedy bar that I'd always been too nervous to go to, and we ended up having a great time. We were at the bar for four hours and then nightcapped at a local Greek diner. I spent the next four days being inseperable from him.
