Yes. I very much believe in the spirits. I lived in a house where the spirit of a school teacher lived. I never knew this until I had moved out, but the house that stood where the house I lived in had burned down. And a school teacher had got caught in that house. He had been banging on the walls hoping the firefighters would find him. But they didn't get to him quick enough and he was trapped smoke and died in the fire. The new house built on the site.....well we heard banging on the walls. I didn't know about this until the day I moved out....then I was told the history....strange thing was...his name was the same as mine.

Nope, the entire concept is rather silly. Conciousness doesn't exist without a brain.

Many brains don't appear to have consciousness, lol. Consciousness may invade a brain when it is open to receiving it. The soul is absolute consciousness.

Now thats a tricky question for me one that I can't put a finger on what is. I visit alot of civil war sites. Some of my pics I take at those sites come up with images of see thru things dressed in period style.

Excellent! This could make the thread fun. I propose to you napayshni, to scan these photos, or if taken with a digital camera, transfer them to your computer. Once you have done that, try uploading them to a site like photobucket, or imageshack. Provide the link to the picture in this thread so we can all have a peek. I do believe that this doesn't violate forum rules?

msg 11:

it's kind of funny but the camra is a cannan one of the most better brands to have

Camera brand has no bearing if there is a dust particle floating in air in front of the lens.

i a sure u it was not dust or anything it was taken in a apartment not out in the rain or anything else .

I assure you, that dust particles floating around in an apartment is quite a common occurance. One could have floated it's way infront of the lens. That is not the only natural possibility either.

i believe in that people are afraied to see whats realy out there so they will try to argue that there can be other things such as rain, dust, ect

It's probably more along the lines of eliminating the more natural and mundane possibilities, before jumping on the supernatural bandwagon.

msg 15:

I have never seen a ghost, but I do believe they exist.

Why would you believe a ghost exists if you have never seen one? Would you believe that a giant inflatable clown living at the core of the earth controls the weather? If you've never seen the clown why do you not believe that too?

Along with that pic I will also enclose..free of charge at no cost a pic with 7 orbs in it. Interesting thing about this pic it was taken in a cavern. In that cavern up by the top of the stairs in the picture when they were digging they found the bones of 7 native americans not all adults some are children. You will notice in the pic the orbs are not all the same size. Some are small others are large. Coincidence? who knows. but then if you don't want to see anything you won't ..if you want to explain things away you will.

But hurray Mr Mcpyrrho because this is a one time offer and I'm only going to spend and enterity to send it out once. So if you don't send me your email addy you won't get the pics.

I await.
I would also like your permission to post them on imageshack and then link them here for others to see. I will of course respect your decision.

Thanks.

Here are a few more links that have great examples of what dust can do in regard to "orbs".

I visit alot of civil war sites. Some of my pics I take at those sites come up with images of see thru things dressed in period style.

I remember a great ghost story I saw on TV. It involved a Parks manager type office on a civil was battlefield. One night one of the workers went in and did some work. The phone started to ring on the other side of the office...then stopped when he approached it.

Then it started on the other side of the office..and the same thing occurred when he approached it.

The next morning he reported it to the boss. There was one problem. They were installing a new telephone system....and it wasn't plugged in yet. All the lines were not functional.

The Cherry Bank Hotel: This famous hotel has a long full history in British Columbia. In fact it was only the second establishment in the area to have a liquor license! The spirit of Kathleen, a long time resident of the hotel, is considered by many to still roam halls. Kathleen was an extremely prim and proper woman. A new waitress was once setting tables but was not quite sure what to do. She left the room and when she returned she found the dishes on the floor perfectly laid out. Often the kitchen staff arrives to find the lid of a cooler has been left opened. It seems that someone once perished in the cooler and people suspect that Kathleen opens it to let out her fellow ghost. Room number four is also a focal point for strange activity. Student filmmakers came in to do a documentary and recorded something very strange. They noticed a scratchy sound on one of their audiotapes that grew louder as the recording went on. When they played it back again they detected a young girl’s voice saying 'I’m having a tea party and you’re invited', over and over. An elderly couple once heard loud banging in their sleep awoke to find that their bathroom door had been completely removed from it hinges and placed against the wall. The door to their hotel room had been locked and was locked when the awoke, so nobody could have entered during the night!

There's also some pretty interesting stories from the Queen Mary , in Long Beach :

Watertight Door #13

Located deep within the ship, the Queen Mary's engine room is host to one of the many specters aboard this vessel. In particular, sightings have been reported at watertight door number 13. This comes as no surprise. On July 10, 1966, a fireman named John Peddar was participating in a drill where the watertight doors were sealed on the ship. Unfortunately, he was unable to get out of the doorway in time and was crushed by the massive force of the door.

Since the horrible accident, there have been reports and sightings of John's ghost in the engine room. One sighting came on August 13, 1991 while a couple who was participating in a tour of the ship. Having heard the story of John, the man jokingly asked, "John Peddar, would you like to join us?" He and his wife laughed and proceeded through the watertight door and up the stairs and almost immediately sensed that they were not alone. They turned to look back at the doorway and the man felt something brush across his face.

The couple didn't think too much of the experience until they were outside. The wife noticed that the husband had grease on his face in the spot where something had brushed against him earlier. Grease was abundant in the engine room back when the ship was operational, but it is very unlikely that a tourist would come in contact with grease today. What's more, neither one of them had grease on their hands or anywhere else on their body. They believe that the ghost of John Peddar decided to take them up on their offer.

Lower Bow and Boiler Room

Unfortunately, during one of her travels, she collided with a smaller British ship, the H.M.S. Curacao, causing the ship and its 300 passengers to sink.

The Queen Mary sustained damage to the lower bow of the ship, but it was soon repaired and the ship was quickly put back in service. Since this accident, many people who have found themselves in the area where the collision occurred have reported numerous experiences. Some claim to hear the sound of the two ships as they collided. Others claim to have heard the horrid screams of the crewmembers aboard the H.M.S. Curacao. Paranormal researchers who have investigated this area say that it is still haunted by many of the nearly 300 men who were killed in that terrible accident.

Located in an area adjacent to the lower bow is the boiler room. Situated about 6 fathoms below water (the ship's lowest point), the boiler room was probably the most dangerous area on the ship during its operation. One unfortunate crew learned just how deadly the boiler room could be when several pipes containing high-pressure steam exploded, killing several crewmembers.

After the ship was permanently berthed in Long Beach, California, the boiler room was gutted out completely. Regardless of this fact, many ghostly sightings have been reported in that area and paranormal activity still occurs in that area to this day.

It's one of those experiences I long to have directly. As I told a friend once, even if your twin brother told you he'd seen a ghost - there would probably still be at least some doubt he was mistaken.

In the old building I used to work in, I'd sometimes go for a smoke break in the area where some paranormal activity had been reported. I'd sit there quietly, for a few minutes, blow some smoke in the air - and "invite" the ghost to show himself somehow to me. I mean....how many times will you ever get THAT chance, in a "haunted" place ?

He never R.S.V.P.'d.

I also told my co-worker , and good friend, that should my body be found there with a terrified look of horror on my face afterwards .....he could consider that as certainly some excellent evidence that my wish had been granted.

I believe in Spirits, ghosts and all that. I have spent a lot of time researching the supernatural so that I can put together a sort of compilation book...no, this is not a shameless attempt and recognition...I am not spamming, so please don't get all mad and crap. I do love a good, personal account so if anyone here has any stories that they don't mind sharing, please do. In case you are wondering, I will not put them in my book unless you have given me permission and still yet if you want me to I will change details should you not want to be identified. Still I would ask permission to use them. Don't be shy and thanks for you stories.

I do not believe I stated I would rush. I only hurry for 3 things my son, something that pays me money, and something that costs me money. I will do what I said in MY time not YOUR time. Try manipulation and control somewhere else.

No the pictures I send will not be for posting anywhere. Why because I just sometimes like telling certain types of people no. Since responces can not be deleted than this will work for not granting permission to do so.

In the mean time while you wait for me to find the time this week google ghost of Gettysburg and enjoy.

Just think I could of been checking mail this a.m. instead of replying.

And nowhere did I state you should hurry. I was noting when I sent the request and the current state of the sent message. Try just reading the message for what it is and not read things into it. Why do you feel you have to be hostile? Manipulation and control indeed...

I do beleive there is life after death and many are here on this earth for various reasons and in a form of a spirit, I think we would be rather selfish to think we are the only life form on earth. Do I beleive in the Im going to scare you out of the house Ghost stories, naw... Do I think a spirit is trying to get through to someone and we as humans ignore the unkown to us sure. But to accept a Ghost that will haunt to harm I can not grasp that one...

yes, i firmly believe in ghost, well spirits. cause that's what they are mostly. There is a difference between ghost and spirits. Ghosts are trapped spirits that don't know that they are dead, and this make them VERY angry that they can't comunacate with us. Sprirts on the other have already went home to god and come to visit or help guide us in some form. They are always happy and never try to hurt you or mad. so that difference is very distinct between them. I've had a couple of incounters and i got one picture of a little girl who seems to follow me around. she's about 8 or 9 yrs old and she likes certian things like the window open for instance. My curtians have been pulled open many of mornings when i know i close them at night before i go to bed. she likes the light and breeze. So i go around the house looking like an idiot talking to her just like she's there.. When i have that feeling she's there i'll talk to her.. See i had two misscarriages about 6 or 7 years ago and i think one of them might be my daughter..

As an amatuer 'ghost hunter' I fully believe in ghosts. I have seen things that cannot be explained by science or logic. Of course, I have also went into situations and was able to debunk them. Either way, I believe they exist. Sadly, I am unable to 'talk' to them or channel them, so I have no idea why they are still around. I have also seen poltergiest activity, which in some circles, is different than ghosts.

I tend to be skeptical with paranormal activity, but I also sense that we’re just a small grain in the universe, and we still haven’t solved the mystery of birth and death yet.
I have held hands with the fatally ill until they passed away, and I remained there living in the same room for a while and soul-conversing with them in a very loving way. I felt just peace and had nothing that my physical senses could perceive; maybe it is such as a sixth sense. I guess they became my guardian angels. I often feel them around and all of sudden you see me smiling to nowhere. I don’t know to explain, and I do not want to. It is very personal and emotional, more than a
Necropsy doc can do just for a living.

I also know that tragic deaths and suicidal attempts are not deciding to time of death, as we cannot precisely determine the birth time as well. As a teen I have been called to confirm identity of a death person by an accident, and people were scared to look at while I took as natural. As a child and teen I used to be alone in the woods with wild dogs and other wild animals. My play buddies were pretty much different as of a girl of the big cities. I played with bats, wild freaking chicken, huge boars and strangely quite horses. I learned to discern sounds and communicate with animals from their own way and often times it was non-verbal. I think it brought me another perspective at death or dead corpses, whether human or not. No, I never saw them stand up from the death, if some here might get this question. I don’t think matter can reintegrate like Phoenix, and it was a bird.
Though, for some reasons beyond myself I believe that when it is time, it is time, nothing else changes it, although it might often coincide with a fact and it is just as usual to say “cause of death”. Interesting enough, we don’t say “cause of birth”… and only register the time.
Concluding, I would say that I believe in ghost as a form of energy that goes beyond the rich of rational based on the psychology and psychiatry industry. They will want you to believe drugs can save you from splitting the ghosts or multiplying them. I think too, human beings alive are scary enough!

Yes I do,my sister has one in her house,it is her husbands great great uncle who died of a fever at the age of 4,they have seen him.Her mother-in-law gave her a pic of him and she put it on her entertainment center, they didn't see him for a long time, then the pic disappeared and they started seeing him again. Also the first Thanksgiving we had after my grandma died,my sis and I was sitting in the kitchen,I was putting the turkey on to cook. My sis and I were the only ones awake. We heard some one walk across the kitchen floor to a cabinet by the stove and something rattled in the cabinet.WE took EVERYTHING out of the cabinet, there was nothing in there to make the noise that we heard .It neither scared nor freaked us out we just knew granny was with us one last Thanksgiving.

May I ask what is up with this 'believe in' part? Ghostly phenomena exist as there are plenty of examples that from professional & critical paranormal investigators who have caught such on film & EVP over the years. Hard evidence for such phenomena has been shown and skeptics have dismissed it out of sheer ignorance & fear of being ridiculed by other skeptics.

While many occurrences of specters, ghosts and things that go bump in the night can be explained away rationally, there are some phenomena that simply cannot. The problem is that people are quick to assign a label to something that they have not exhausted all possibilities from it being just a normal occurrence.

But when you apply Occam's Razor and strip away all of the plausible reasons that simply do not add up to a truly unnatural occurence, then what you have is unexplained.

Your not a nut.Ghosts and spirits are seperate entities.Ghosts are people who do not know they are dead and have not been able to find their way to the "light",so they hang around their familar territories, haunts.
Spirits are people who know they have died but sometimes come back to this plain of being to let us know they are still around or they are watching over us or that they are happy where they are and want us to stop grieving for them.

Nicely put theartistguy!

Like many other people, I have in the past been guided to 'rescue' ghosts and show them the way to the light. Some have been in houses, others by their grave sites. I have also been told that ghosts didn't believe in any kind of life after death and that is why they are 'stuck' inbetween worlds.

Do ghosts believe in me? This would be a better question...

Why does one need to believe in ghosts for them to appear?

Does a ghost need perception? Why would it? Given that they exist, they would be out of our spectrum/dimension and appear to those who are sensitive enough to appreciate them... so you see, the question is rather moot. :)

I'd have to say, yes I do too. There might be more to it then the believers and non believers believe though. I've had a few weird spooky moments; but, this story opens the ghost thang to a differant dimension. Though not to denie the experiances of those that experiance other ghostly phenomina. My brother had what to him appeared to be a dream; yet, it was differant in the fact that it was more clear then what his dreams usually were. He told me in this so called dream that he was hanging around with a few friends, they were at a party. He usually is quite the party person who gets along with everyone, though no one appeared to notice him. He noticed his friends leaving so he rushed out the door just behind them only to notice he forgot his coat. Going back to the door he found it locked and no one was near that door. He ran to the front door, it was locked also so he started to knock or bang on the door. Some one inside slid the curtains on the door window to see who was outside. He told me that a womens face looked out the window at him and her face widened and fear and screams came from this woman like she had seen a ghost. All of a sudden bang he is back in bed sweating and shaken. Was he actually astral travelling and due to his heightened emotion regarding getting his coat before his friends left, heightened his visibility?

at a very young age i was & still able to connect with and see ghosts it doesnt happen all the time but when you see a ghost or spirit so to say fly through you and leave a part of thier energy on your physical body that should be enough to validate that they exisit or when you tell people there is a reason your not allowed to walk in certain areas of a town and you do anyway with someone you care about and you get thrown ten to twenty feet behind the person your with that should be enough reason for me to believe that ghost do exist

If you have lost someone close to you and you see them or feel them after they have passed over it is just their way of letting you know they are happy and not poorly any more. I have had a few things happen that i am not afraid of because it puts your mind at rest. I am slightly psychic from my grandma, i can remember back to when i was 15 months old which in its self is quite strange but is possible. My favourite aunty passed over in 1987 and 2 days before my dad passed over i saw her she was crouching down picking huge white daises with huge yellow middles and smiling up at me and it was brilliant white as far as you could see.then 2 days later dad passed away and i think she was showing me he was going to a beautiful place. The night dad went my aunt was waiting to take him over as there was a really strong smell of her perfume in the room and dad kept smiling at the window. some people will say oh your mad, its wishfull thinking, no its not, these things happen to some people
