What do you think that I hate blacks. I don't. I do not stereotype either. I'd date a black gal just as well as an Asian gal or whatever. There are two types of people in this world leaders and followers. Most blacks are followers. Some whites are followers. I do my best with other races. I am well liked. I did forget to mention that my grandfather not once but three times was beat up by blacks. The 3rd time he was drug down el steps and broke his hip for thirty dollars. He died from complications days later from lung fluids etc. I still don't hate the race. They need to know more about their history and where they came from..not just plain Africa..but where in Africa, the village the area what ever to establish the true roots. As far as I am concerned the history only goes back a few hundred years. DNA testing most likely would pin point the area and tribe. Tribes yes tribes..we are all from tribes.
Again, if you know not where you came from you will never know which way to go. | |

When Americans were "the land of the people who upheld other Americans' freedoms", it was a very nice place to live, because everyone helped everyone else out.
If that has changed, then the people have changed, and it is the people & what they do that matter. Not a bunch of paper and words. | |

Based on the figures (bikerbiker53) quoted above, the majority of crime is committed by whites, not blacks
Look at the numbers of population by race,...compair the figures
Were looking at 160 million people in the white population,
compaired to
20 million of black people totaling the US population
and compare the numbers , per 100,00 ,per race
at any given time there are,...
.........396 per 100,000 Whites incarcerated
......2,563 per 100,000 Blacks incarcerated
Look at the difference,..
and consider that blacks only account for 20 Million of the US population,....
And Whites account for 160 million people,...
The FACTS ARE STAGGERING !
Does someone have to hold a gun to your head,..or rape and murder you and your family,..for you,..and others like you, to to realize there is a horriable problem here.
A Problem, that far too many people care to think about,..let alone talk about it,

White racism is of course real and still institutionalized in some communities. I don't think anyone is disputing this. But for some, to constantly rely on this as the backbone of their argument that it's the root cause of black ills is totally oversimplifying and misdirecting focus on the real problems, problems that aren't being addressed with enough vigor in the black community.
The following statistics are profoundly sobering and disturbing for ALL Americans......
"Homicide is the number one cause of death for black men between 15 and 29 years of age and has been for decades. "
“Of the roughly 16,000 homicides in this country each year, more than half are committed by black men. A black man is seven times more likely to commit a murder than a white man, and six times more likely to be murdered. "
“Ninety-four percent of all black people who are murdered are murdered by other black people. "
“Although black people make up 12 percent of the general population, they make up nearly 44 percent of the prison population. "
“At any given time, as many as one in four of all young black men are in the criminal justice system—in prison or jail, on probation or on parole.”
These are taken from Bill Cosby and Alvin F. Poussaint, M.D. (professor of psychology at Harvard Medical School) new book entitled, "Come On, People: On the Path from Victims to Victors".
To be sure, racism plays a role in some of these statistics, but not as much as we're led to believe by apologists apparently bent on deflecting any criticism against African-Americans. The first step in dealing with any problem is to face it with unsparing honesty and not hide behind a bunch of empty rhetoric. | |

Looking at the number of whites and blacks incarcerated per 100,000:
........396 per 100,000 Whites incarcerated
......2,563 per 100,000 Blacks incarcerated
might make it look to you that lots more crime is committed by blacks than whites, but that is not what these numbers say, because we need to take into account the total population of each race. The numbers above allow us to conclude that a disproportionate number of blacks are incarcerated in comparison to the the number of blacks in the total US population.
(according to the data you posted) there are 20 million blacks and 160 million whites - to work out the total number of whites and blacks that are incarcerated we need to:
White:
divide 160,000,000 by 100,000 = 1600
multiply 1600 by 396=633,600
Therefore there is a total of 633,600 whites incarcerated (based on 1991 data)
Black
divide 20,000,000 by 1oo,000 =200
multiply 200 by 2,563 = 512,600
Therefore there is a total of 512,600 blacks incarcerated (based on 1991 data)
And 633,600 incarcerated whites is a bigger number than 512,600 incarcerated blacks - so if you are to assume that # incarcerated = #crimes committed then more crime is committed by whites than blacks
however #incarcerated is not the same as # crimes committed anyway for all sorts of reasons i.e., different length of sentence for different crimes, probation, insufficient evidence to prosecute, longer sentences for repeat offenders - and all those reasons exist without even considering if blacks are treated more harshly by the justice system than whites (and only a complete bigot or an absolute fool could really believe that the justice system is totally colour blind)

I dare you to do the math on that, and show the results,....
160,000 whites,....only 396 per 100,000 incarcerated
160,000 blacks,...only 2,563 per 100,00 incarcerated

And dont go trying to blame the incaration rate due to "Racist" Judges,..that arguement dont hold water either.
I think your education, over rides your common sense.

Crime, is running rampant,..overwhelming by blacks, that want to stand behind the race card, instead of accepting responcibilty.
I believe society,...both white, latino, and black,..must come together,..and raise their voice,..that this problem must be addressed,....and enforce justice equialy to all, reguardless of color, race, creed, or religion.
We need Black Leaders to start preaching that people take the responciabilty for their own actions,...and to preach Love, not racial discord.
Laws breakers should be punished equily,...no excuses.
Bring back the death penalty,...STOP being a bunch of weak kneed victims,..and showing compassion for hardened criminals that wont show you any.
Bring back PUBLIC EXECUTIONS,...... show them on NATIONWIDE TV.
Allow every man, and woman the right to have a fire arm on them, and the ability to use it in order to stop someone from commiting a crime,..reguardless of the crime.
I dont mean kids toilet papering a tree,..you know what I mean.
If a criminal is attempting a mugging,..a rape,...a robbery,...a home invasion,....
SHOOT THEM DEAD !
And dont put the victim, or shooter under the microscope,...like the Law does now a days,.....
Give the shooter the KEY TO THE CITY,...make them a HERO,...again,....like they used to be,...Praise someone, thats got the guts to do what you aint got the heart for.
You got a better plan to help reduce crime ?????

Posted: 10/18/2007 1:43:19 AM | Brown sugar, this story is horrific on its own and has nothing to do with the color of the skin of the victim, nor the criminals, the act is what is wrong. I would like to see more of these threads spotlighting the story, not the color. There are evil, horrible people in every race. When wrong doing is committed somehow it gets disjointed when race comes into it. What happened to that young lady is horrible, unimaginable and those six monsters should all be put to death. Regardless of color, religion, age, and such, this crime took place, we must deal with crime with out the past, wrongs, past hatreds, and deal with what is in front of us now.
When a group of humans or a human take a person and torture them, stab them, verbally abuse them, force them to eat animal waste, or anything against their will, it needs to be stopped, we have to learn why this happens.
I feel bringing up race splinters the intensity of the crime to try to hang it on racial hatred when it is criminal insanity. The man that raped the three year old girl over and over again while videotaping it is as horrible (different, yet horrible) and it wouldnt matter what color either of them were, it is the crime that should be punished. I felt the Jena Six story got totally difused by the media, first Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson coming in and yelling at everyone, causing tempers and emotions to get all crazy, it ruined the actual message. Highschool kids hang out in cliques, always have, the geeks, the jocks, the preppies, the hoods, or thugs, etc. There will be the "popular" ones and the not so popular kids and that is a shame, it should not be allowed. The fact that those little jerks hung a noose in the tree is a shocking, hurtful "threat" of sorts and could have been highlighted much more than it was. The six kids that beat up the kid (that was not name calling, was not part of the noose placement) made the news because he was beaten and really didnt have anything to do with it which outraged parents and citizens. Dr. ML Kings message of non violence is effective and louder than any throw of a punch.
Terrible things happen in America, we must protect ourselves, close the borders, know who is here, open up the state hospitals and care for our insane, mentally ill, psycotic, violent and sociopathic instead of letting them out after 24-48 hours of observation and a prescription for meds that they cant afford and wont take.
If we as a nation will turn off our tvs that play stupid distractions, (britney, OJ, Pam Anderson and such) and get to know our neighbors, join groups of interest, and stop being the scared, locked in our homes consuming (believe me, there are deliberate news casts to scare us into our homes) stop living in fear, stop ignoring the dealers, hookers and criminals and call the police, take back our streets, neighborhoods, and cities, we can begin to make positive changes like the ones you mentioned. It is time to clean up the corruption starting at the top, how can we expect our citizens to obey the law when the president and VP are breaking every law there is, ripping us off, taxing us to death, selling off our national parks, sending our jobs to India, Mexico and China, manipulating the interest rates to lull people and farmers in with life savings, then changint it so the huge corporations can get another HUGE peice of what is ours, shutting down the industry and basically leaving us with minimum wage jobs with no benefits or CEOs making 300 million a year?
This is a very sad story, We have to do everything we can to get back the sanity, I am going to urge everyone to vote for Ron Paul, the one person that is not filling his pockets on our backs, our hard earned money and wants to get the constitution back in place, along with the bill of rights and most of all PEACE and Freedom!
Is there a thread or a link so we can read the entire story?

So, I agreed with you about this two posts ago.
I think you bring up an interesting point about how things would be if the US pop was 50% white and 50% black. One things is certain, if whites are not the majority and blacks are not a visible minority, then the social fabric of the US would be quite different from how it is now.
I just found out that demographic and population growth analysts project that by 2050 the US population will be 50% white, the other 50% will consist of mostly black with smaller percentages of other non-white minorities. So, as you stated so beautifully in your first post - it's not a white problem, it's not a black problem, it's not a latino problem - it's everyone's problem ( sorry if I misquoted you a bit, doing it from memory)
Regarding your suggested solutions - every US man and woman can already carry a gun (and every criminal) and it does not seem to reduce crime. The death penalty does exist in some states, and that doesn't seem to reduce crime either. As for executions on TV, almost every violent crime committed by young offenders is at some point blamed on watching too much violence on tv. However, undoubtedly a Reality Death Row Show would probably hook more viewers than American Idol.
My idea to help reduce prison populations is based on the fact that the most commonly occurring characteristic of the incarcerated is a terrible lack of education. Specifically, the majority of black and white offenders have less than 12 years education. Presumably these are the folks without common sense or education. Common sense cannot be taught, but a good education opens up so many possible futures that remain closed to the uneducated. So - educate the population more effectively than the current system does. It's not a total resolution, but I do think it would make a big difference.

Good catch....I checked a few more sources ( a tad more carefully) and of the 50% non white pop. The largest proportion is Hispanic..
But I am unclear about the term "hispanic" as lots of sites said "Hispanic (of any race)" and also referred to "non-hispanic blacks"...could anyone clarify it for me?

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- Police are investigating the stabbing of two women at a Rocky Mount church that left one dead and the other hospitalized.
Authorities believe a man charged into Lakeside Baptist Church Thursday morning and stabbed the women, who were both Meals on Wheels volunteers. Witnesses said he was trying to rob them.
Officials say 58-year-old Debbie Kornegay was pronounced dead at Nash General Hospital. Eve Beasley was taken to Nash then transferred to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville where her condition and age were not immediately available.
Police believe the attacker fled the scene in a 2002 charcoal gray GMC Yukon XL that belonged to one of the victims.

The suspect was cought today. He is a black man. Just wanted to make a note of that. As far as more black people being in prision, most crime is black on black crime. Who testifies to these crimes to put them in prison? The black victims of these crimes.I am sure everyone knows the gettos are higher in violent crime. Who mostly lives there? Black people. More drugs are there as well. Why do good black people living in gettos complain that a drug dealer is back on the street the day after being arrested. Because blacks are not really sent to prison just because they are black. I dont want decent black people locked up. I want repeat criminal black people locked up. I also want repeat white people locked up. As far as the topic of this thread, this is in america because we need harsher punishment for all races, and all crimes. I have not researched, but I think most repeat DUI offenders are commited by white people. It makes me so mad to hear people are killed in car accidents caused by repeat drunk drivers. Revoking their drivers license has proved to not stop these repeat offenders. | |

I could care less about Brittany, Lindsay, etc. The story about the lady who was kidnapped and tortured by whites is news but they won't tell it because it would expose the resurgence of racism. I beg to differ,....
99 % of the states require that you have a "Permit" to own a handgun,...and to carry it.
Crime stats show all the time that the use of hand guns prevent home invasions, and robberies,....
But the news media,...backed by our consertive government,...doesnt want to show how helpfull haveing a handgun can be.
They spread misinformation,..saying owning a handgun increases the chance of it being used against you.
Of course theres always that chance,.......
But,..our government,..dosent want to allow every person, the right to carry a handgun,...you must have permission first.
Oh sure,..you can own a handgun,..and keep it in your house,..or on your property,
but you cant carry it with you at all times.
Do you see how hard their trying to take our guns away ?
Do you see how hard there trying to make it to buy a handgun ?
If,..you have a permit,..you walk out the time of sale with the gun,
If you dont have a permit,..you undergo a waiting period, and background check.
A nice way to keep hand guns out of the criminals hands huh?

Criminals dont buy handguns out of stores (basicly)
They steal them, or buy them from other criminals.
Just recently,..we had an undercover cop, get mugged, and had his gun stolen from him.
Even the cops arent safe,.....how are the supposed to protect us ????
They dont,...they come in and clean up the mess afterwards.
But even the Police Dept's will advice you not to have a gun,...they say just call 911.
Yeah,...right.
So,..we really dont have the right to bear arms,....like, we as a nation used to.
Just like the Police advise a rape Victim to yeild,..to not resist,..to not fight back.

You fight tooth and nail, ...useing anything available as a weapon,....a pencil,..a paper clip,...anything thats within your reach,....
But the most important weapon you have is your mind,..and the abilty to use it.
But the "Powers That Be",..want to take that away from you too.
Were just supposed to give in,...and be victims.
