| Re: never forget Posted: 9/9/2004 2:30:47 PM | i stood there watching in my living room an early september morning in 2001 the day the earth stood still the day we lost, fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers daughters and sons
the sheer horror of it all when the towers came crashing down, moved us to tears, our security, peace and traquility also died that day scattered like ashes falling to the ground
rescue workers tried in vain to save lives that horrifying day, while their families watched at home little did they know they pay the ultimate sacrifice with the lives of their own
we thought our belief in our fellow man had gone up in smoke but as the dust cleared people rushed from around the world their hearts moved to show their support, giving us reborn hope

| Re: never forget Posted: 9/9/2004 4:42:44 PM | its hard to believe it was so long ago - but it feels like yesterday
its still sad and hard to deal with sometimes
i was at ground zero a couple months ago and they have a barrier around it - but when you look at the mass of emptiness you are just stunned...there was this guy there playing the bagpipes and it was pretty windy and his kelt was blowing all over the place but he never stopped - he just kept going - and there were people wiping their eyes and some taking pictures and others touching the names of lost ones or names of firefighters that were listed missing - there were buildings still covered that have not be redone - i was told that they were not sure if they were going to re do them - that hole in the ground just tends to leave a hurt inside all of us who still mourn that day ...
as the ashes burned and the hope died people marched forward only in stride for the day that this all happened something was lost our hearts were somber but our fingers stayed cross our tears are now dried our minds remember for the many that died that September | |
