Because the anus has a very thin coat of mucus, much thinner then the female vagina, the anal lining tares easily and can later turn into an anal absess once fecies (poop) gets into the tare. | |

This is not something you should not take seriously. If you are truly uninformed about this issue then Educate yourself to find out the data on anal intercourse without a condom (Male or Female).
How could anyone in this day and age not be aware of where to obtain "THE FACTS ABOUT HIV"! Its not a joke ~

Posted: 12/1/2007 6:07:08 AM | I'm just gonna point out that 1 of you guys have gotta have HIV first to transmit it, half these posts make it sound like anal sex without a condom somehow creates aids, like the friction conjures up the HIV virus and gives it to all parties involved.
The only trick is you can never really be 100% sure someone don't have it, blood tests can be mucked up, people can lie about infidelity, hell you can get HIV from blood transfusions because at least in Canada, so many HIV positive people give blood and it's so poorly tested that they slip through.
Anyway even if you're sure you're both clean, there's still the bacteria in there. I'd still say the reason Anal is so much more "dangerous" is because people don't think to wear a contraception when they're workin it in a way that can't get someone pregnant. There's a reason it's called birth control and not disease protection, guess that's just how it's meant to work. | |

Did it not occur to you that the person was serious, or that maybe they were raised in a time (as I was) where 'the American Education System' as you put it did not teach such things? I am aware that many( if not all) schools now teach sex education rather than leaving it to parents to do, but when I was growing up, there was no such thing in our schools. That happened alot in little backwoods towns, so please people....don't assume someone is stupid just because they may not be as informed as you are. Even rimming carries potential risk if the guy being rimmed has hep A or parasites. In terms of STIs, anything you can get from an infected vagina through unprotected sex you can certainly get from the anus and anal area including herpes, HPV, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and HIV. Excuse me but where did you attend medical school. I think they need to have their credentials pulled. Might I ask which state you hold a medical license for I think they need to investigate the fact that you are giving out very dangerous medical advice.
The absolute worst case of pelvic inflammatory disease I saw in my life was from a young women whose husband convinced her to try anal sex. She ended up in the hospital on iv antibiotics. Any woman who engages in anal sex without a condom is looking for trouble.
If a man is uncircumcised he would equally be out of his mind to try this. It is difficult enough for a man with a foreskin to keep his member clean without introducing it to the bacteria in the anal canal/rectum.
Even if a man promises he will not follow up with vaginal intercourse without washing, a lady would be out of her mind to trust a man in this setting. Passion gets in the way of the best of intentions. Think about how many babies were conceived by the rhythm method of conception.

However, it is true that anal sex can produce tearing of the lining and self-infection through the contents of the intestine. This is something that everybody should consider. It's like cutting your finger and then putting it in mud. The risk of catching a coventional infection increases markedly. | |
