| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 12/28/2008 2:12:48 PM | It depends on what your definition of safe is.
For a monogamous couple, that are disease free, then yes. Comments regarding "double dipping", there is bacteria through out the body and each belongs in its place. Don't mix bacteria. I'm seeing more and more porn with anal to mouth, which to me crosses the line of anal licking. Just my opinion.
For others, non-tested, non-monogamous, etc. then a condom is appropriate for safety's sake (STD's, AID's, etc.). A condom is also useful if one intends to "double dip" and does not want to stop to wash. I did have to laugh about the poster that stated that you should use a condom because your appendage would smell and it was difficult to remove the smell. LOL Considering the approximation of my appendage to my other opening, I think I can wash both well enough that someone of the opposite gender would not find it offensive. I would also hope that my partner would do the same!
There are a fair share of non anal lovers on this thread. I think the thought that your not going there, or you're gay, or whatever has been expressed. I may have missed it, but I didn't see the OP state one way or another the style for relationship he was addressing, so I broke it into two groups. I would say I'm experienced and knowledgeable about the subject.

Posted By: marcob on 10/9/2007 5:02:06 PM Subject: Is anal sex safe without a condom? Message: If you know your partner, and are preferably in a long term relationship, then the STD thing is a non-issue.
If your partner (her) knows what she's doing, then "poo" isn't going to be an issue either.
My answer is, yes it is safe. My member survived it quite a few times. You don't have to wear a condom. Just no double dipping. That's no good for her.
This is precisely correct --- people who are NOT in a long term relationship have no business having sex anyway.

| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 1/4/2009 10:58:33 PM | | It can be safe between two people without STD/I's. However both sexes can still obtain infections (UTI and alike) from unprotected anal penetration/rimjobbing/ejaculation. | |

I personally Have had my Willie in quite a few Buts as well as my Tongue and fingers and never had any Problems.....

| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 1/21/2009 3:53:14 PM | You know I just read this whole thread and I CAN'T BELIEVE that never not once was Hepatitus A/C mentioned.
Unprotected anal sex leaves you open to infection with a number of nasty sexually transmitted diseases due to the high number of infectious microorganisms not found elsewhere on the body, and tears, which can lead to direct blood exposure to infected fluid, not to mention the physical damage to the anus and the rectum due to their vulnerability.
Couple that with the fact that many people don't wash their hands and fecal matter get's digested -- yuck!
My sister is a nurse and I don't want to even repeat the stories she's told me. The only way fecal matter can be cleaned properly is with a bleach, so there goes the "enema" advice.
Among the diseases with which anal sex is associated are: 1) HIV 2) HPV and an increase risk for anal cancer (most cases of anal cancer are related to infection with the human papilloma virus) 3) typhoid fever 4) amoebiasis 5) chlamydia 6) cryptosporidiosis 7) E. coli infections 8) giardiasis 9) gonorrhea 10) hepatitis A 11) hepatitis B 12) hepatitis C 13) herpes simplex 14) human papillomavirus 15) Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (HHV-8) 16) lymphogranuloma venereum 17) pubic lice 18) salmonellosis 19) shigella 20) syphilis 21) tuberculosis 22) venereal warts (treatable if external, difficult if up in the rectum)
The high concentration of white blood cells around the rectum, together with the risk of cuts to the rectum and that one of the functions of the rectum is to absorb fluid, increases the risk of HIV transmission because the HIV retrovirus reproduces within the immune system's T-cells/CD4 cells. In addition, tears in the mucous membrane of the rectum can develop into anal abscesses that can become infected.
Unprotected receptive anal sex is the most risky sexual behavior in terms of HIV transmission. Some doctors claim that hemorrhoids (piles) result from vigorous anal sex.
Like smoking, the risks are lower if you do it less often. Chances are you’re not going to get lung cancer from smoking one pack of cigarettes. But MANY teenagers (to avoid pregnancy, to try something new, to please a guy, to stay a virgin) are having anal sex without condoms, and that's just crazy.

| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 1/21/2009 4:12:50 PM | It's a quibble, Ameera, but the list is longer than need be because you mention problems associated with HPV (venereal warts aka condylomata), anal cancer and then spell out Human Papillomavirus. Hepatitis C is not easy to transmit sexually. Hep A is transmissible more through rimming (mouth on anus) than anal sex. Tuberculosis? I dunno about that. Pubic lice is an infestation. No biggie.
Yes, of course people need to protect themselves and their partners. But let's not get all sex-negative with interminable lists. The most common risks? HPV, herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea and HIV.
|
| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 1/21/2009 4:24:52 PM | I don't think being health conscious is quibbling. Is it better to be more informed or less informed? The last thing I am is sex-negative. I just added to this thread what was missing.
Oh and, during a sex act, if there is oral sex after anal sex, that is your fecal contamination right there, and also if the man is handling his penis and does not wash his hands.
The common risks you've pointed out are no laughing matter.

| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 1/21/2009 7:54:07 PM | HAHAH, thats ****ing hilarious. It depends on how tight the ass is. If it is REAL tight, then it will likely bleed. Blood = risk. Does either person have HIV? If say, the person with the****has HIV, then it is safe for them. If the person getting ****ed has HIV, it is safe for them. | |

| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 1/21/2009 7:56:49 PM | | Well, all of this stuff matters, yes. But if you are doing it with someone that you are monomagamous with, then, well, do it. Anal sex is da bomb! Byyeee | |

| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 4/10/2009 8:23:20 PM | i don't think it would be unsafe if you tamped VASELINE deep down into the peehole! that would block the bacteria! | |

| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 4/11/2009 12:29:02 AM | man it's scary OP that you ask this question; the answer is no way in hell is it safe without a condom;
if it was safe then why do so many gay men get AIDS? come on. I just dont get that people are so unsafe with their sexual practices. people seem more clueless than ever.

| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 4/11/2009 7:26:48 AM | Ameerra's list of things to be scared of might be correct, but isnt everything on that list capable of being passed in other ways - through vaginal or oral sex, or kising, or coughing, or blood contact? Anal sex may make some easier to transmit, but the risk is there for ANY sexual activity.
You cant 'create' a new disease through anal sex. If both parties are clean of STDs and other diseases, then nothing can be passed between them. If you are both clean, monogomous and already sharing fluids, then yes, anal sex is fine without a condom. Just be smart about it - go slow, lots of lube, nothing goes from anus to vagina, pee and wash afterwards. I've had anal sex in every LTR I've been in (tested and clean and using alternate birth control) without a condom and neither myself or any partners has ever had a problem.

| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 4/11/2009 8:09:02 AM | Of all the types of sex NOT to have without a condom...it would be anal sex!
The American Red Cross( which some here think knows nothing) states that as many as 10% of all married women admit to having anal sex on a regular basis. Because of the tiny tears that frequently occur during anal intercourse, it is more susceptible to the HIV possibility. But this is America, we are all pretty much used to getting screwed in the butt in one way or another. And condoms aren't always on hand.

| Is anal sex safe without a condom? Posted: 5/10/2009 1:40:57 AM | | Anal sex is all to to the woman involved. Some ssay it hot and intense. Safe without a condom meaning in STD's yes but I have done lots of times and women love it. They get a bigger and better orgasm out it. Its all on the woman and how horny she is. | |
