| The signs in a nutshell: Posted: 12/8/2007 10:39:14 AM | I'm a Leo. Although some horoscopes say Cancer sign.
I haven't met anyone compatible for me yet! They are out there somewhere. In the meantime. Enjoy your single status!

| The signs in a nutshell: Posted: 12/8/2007 11:23:37 AM | I'm a conundrum lol an enigma!
Pisces sun (5th house Leo), Venus in Aquarius, Mars in Pisces, Moon in Gemini (yada, yada, yada), rising sign Libra (some say scorpio?) 5 planets in Pisces! (okay 1 is an asteriod -chiron) NO planets in an earth sign ('cept virgo..ummm...uranus I think) The venus is what messes me up... I need a lover who is also a best friend...first, and foremost. There's a detachment that comes with Venus in Aquarius that a lot of men can't handle.
I'd love to understand it... (?)

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/9/2007 12:30:53 PM | Oh my! the ole "does my sign match well w/your sign" question , astrology has been around since the beginning of time ( so I've been told), so I can see why there's a curiosity there. I was heavily into eastern astro many yrs. ago, to see if there was a huge difference between western/eastern astro, well there is for those who truly believe in it, lol As a "cusp" kid ( Scorp/Sag, born in the yr. of the Dragon), I have no idea of who my "perfect" match is, I married a" Sag-Rat" at a young age, after my divorce and my "single-life" began...in "western zodiac " I seem 2 attract alot of Gemini's, Cancer's, Aries, Scorpio's, Aquarian males ( and a few Pisces), in "eastern zodiac" I attract alot of Rabbit's, Snakes, Rooster's, Dog's, Horses, Tigers & a few Ox's, I give up! Happy Holidays to you all! | |

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/14/2007 9:18:14 AM | Bethany, indeed.
PS Bethany, I'll be getting back to you as soon as I've recovered from this nasty cold I've had for a few days.
What I do love are the generalizations people seem to have about a subject, that unless its been really studied, it cannot be fully known about. If it were all bullshit, I'd like to wonder why my mentor/teacher wrote a 900 page primer on the subject. I am supposing that anyone could write 900 pages of nothing, but his book is a masterwork. When someone calls it a lot of hooey, its because its either fear, or ignorance that dictates that opinion. Study it, in depth, and then if its BS to you, then it is.
At one time I would have said the same thing, but after 17 years of studying it - and one never gets through studying the totality of astrology - I am continually amazed by its accuracy. I will say here, that the sunsign astrology is just the very tip of a massive iceberg. Example - if you all read the previous description of ARies, you'd know what that meant, even if you aren't one. Why? Because some part of you operates in an Aries way. The astrology chart shows where that is - where one feels they must be Number 1, where they need to lead, where they need to explore new avenues in life. If its in the relationship area, then the person seeks out people that will force them to learn assertive behavior, as well as breaking them free of old relationship patterns. Or...they just might want to be #1 in the relationship. The venus in Aquarius person that wrote about how problematic it is having that particular placement, because that means she has to be friends first with someone before intimacy. I think that is extremely healthy and necessary, because the person is seeking to be totally themselves, with that other person. Which helps a relationship be equal in all ways. And that keeps a relationship moving forward.
Just a thought or two to start the day.....Eileen

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/14/2007 9:26:19 AM | I'm a slave to the Aries/Scorpio match... My fondest relationships (?) were with these. Unfortunately, I married a Taurus. I would have done better if I'd married the car! ....... | |

LOL ! Are you aware that there are 13 constellations of various length and not 12 equal ones in the zodiacal belt ? So you're not even of the sign you pretend to be.
There has been one experience made a few years ago in France, a teacher gave the horoscope to his 30 students of his science class at Nice University. He ask them to read their horoscope and then to say if the person recognised itself in it, no matter if they believe or not in Astrology. The vast majority said that they recognised themselves on their horoscope. After that, the teacher ask a volunteer to read aloud its horoscope. When the student read her horoscope, everybody realised that the teacher distributed the same sheet of paper to everybody in the classroom... lol hence the trick is to be extremely vague and you can't miss this way.
Your mentor writing 900 pages of crap is an ignorant or a crook. It's always hard to distinguish between delusion and lies, but the facts are there. Astrology is a fraud, and it has been proven countless of times.
Some people lacking confidence in general are already confused enough in their emotional life, get out of their love life. You're manipulating them and probably stealing their money too.
EDIT : I goggled to find an English translation of that experiment made by Broch at Nice University but I found instead that video : James Randi did about the same experience :

It's great to keep an open mind, but not at the point where your brain is falling out. lol Enjoy the video!

SCORPIO - The Intense One Very energetic. Intelligent. Can be jealous and/or possessive. Hardworking. Great kisser. Can become obsessive or secretive. Holds grudges. Attractive. Determined. Loves being in long relationships. Talkative. Romantic. Can be self-centered at times. Passionate and Emotional.
Wow that describes me perfectly. Except the jealous/possessive part. I'm not jealous nor possessive.
So it must be real this astrology thingie! :)

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/16/2007 7:32:13 AM | | Astrology is amusing... I put about as much faith in it as I do the testimonials on Jerry Springer... each are amusing and entertaining in there own way... truthful and reliable? So is a fortune cookie... no offense but I don't buy it. | |

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/16/2007 7:43:35 AM | | I don't believe in it personally, but I wouldn't be above using it in a self-serving way with a guy who DID believe. If he's convinced he's going to have some sort of exceptional sexual experience because I'm a Scorpio, I can see it becoming a self-fulfilling prophesy, which would probably be quite nice for both of us. It hasn't happened yet, though. I've never had a lover who was into astrology. | |

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/22/2007 8:01:36 AM | | Manatenish, sun sign astrology is very vague and can apply to anybody because they only give basic everyday info. In depth astrology is far more accurate and if Randi would have done a personal birth chart on everyone in the class, his experiment probably would have failed. | |

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/22/2007 8:09:40 AM | No, I really don't believe that astrology can be used as a tool to determine whether one sign is ok for you or not. It's all luck, really. I'm a Moonchild, my husband is an Aries; not supposed to be compatible but we are truly soulmates. It was just luck that we found each other although I did have my life chart done as a teenager and was told to either marry an Aries or a Libra.
I feel it's really determined by attitudes, goals, outlook on life, etc. if you will get along with one person vs. another.
|
| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/22/2007 8:00:37 PM | The only sign I avoid is Scorpio. That has nothing to do with astrology charts really. It has everything to do with bad experiences. It is one of the first things I check when reading a profile. | |

Drawn by the ancients who literally connected the dots on a star map. We could just as easily draw Mickey Mouse or Kermit the Frog!

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/22/2007 10:48:58 PM | I read my horoscope for fun and entertainment but also to learn and I'm a curious person. Tell ya what though, my horoscope seems to be right on target. This site will send you a daily free horoscope without spamming you! It's fun and interesting go to: Horoscope free, the new Astrological Community! We are awaiting you at www.horoscopefree.com Some people really have attitudes about this topic and not sure why, maybe they just think it's rubbish. Me? well I used to be the same way and was really leery of it and thought it was some kind of evil voodoo and afraid to even go there. As I've got older, I looked into it and it's too right on target for me to ignore. I'm typical Sagittarian and most of what I read about my sign, being born on December 19th is true. Except maybe what I've read about being gamblers, I'm not one at all but if I gamble maybe once a year, I am lucky and usually win so go figure. Haven't really looked into who I'm compatible with too much. I just know that from my experience with a Taurus, sparks fly and there's so much chemistry. Probably not my soulmate match but what fun in the meantime. Plus, not sure my soulmate is even out there so I'll take the bull, lol. It's fun, I enjoy reading horoscopes and reading others personalities and yeah, I look at your sign on a profile. I'm not exclusively looking for a Taurus but has just been my experience and observation. Sagittarians are fun and sometimes crazy...atleast I am. I get along with most all signs, a social butterfly, nieve but sweet unless ya mess w my friends or family then it's on. I personally think there is alot of truth in it and I'm not so shallow to believe there's not. Everyone is different so respect that some of us have an interest in this topic. What a boring world it would be if we were all interested in the same thing and not interesed in all the same things, blah!!! For me, horoscopes are velly intellesting!! Arty Johnson if you are old enough to remember, lol. Have fun! Sher | |

| astrology and relationships Posted: 11/15/2008 5:20:04 PM | I'm an Aries, a fire sign. I've had good relationships with Libras (my opposite sign), Leos and Cancer. The last was a surprise, since that's a water sign and supposed to "water down" firey Aries. Dated a Sag guy; he fit the model to a t! loved to gamble, hates to be tied down in any way, still unmarried and in his late 40's - Sag men are the most likely to never marry or marry very late in life - loves to travel, loves guns, in law enforcement - I could go on.
I wouldn't not date someone because of his sign, but I would look up our compatibility for the fun of it. Also, the horoscopes in the daily papers are very generic. Sometimes they hit the nail on the head, but usually are very, very general. Because there's an awful lot to an astrological wheel, you need a good astrologer to figure this out for you.
Astrology's been around a long, long time, like tarot cards and tea leaves. Must be something to this stuff! I read cards, myself, and have seen/predicted some amazing things for people. It's easier to read for strangers than people you know, by the way.

| astrology and relationships Posted: 11/15/2008 6:05:36 PM | I believe there is some solid truth in zodiac signs, but like all things exceptions will always exist.
I am a cancer, and yes from all that I have read, a pretty damn good description of who I am overall. Keyword is overall.
Two main relationships I have had was a scorpio and the other a pisces. The scorpio was a way bad match for me, like oil & water. The pisces was like I had found someone who truely understood me.
So with this, the sign is no deal breaker, but It will undoubtedly cross my mind.
