I tell ya what, as many have said, it does have it's merit at times, and I read them every day just for fun, but not the ones in the newspaper, those are usually bogus. I get mine from a place called Astrology.com....they do the natal charts and all sorts of readings. Most are pretty on target (at least for me). I think I'm screwed tho, cuz I'm a cusp kid too.....Taurus/Gemini....stubbornness with dual traits? lol, just calllll me Sybil!!!!
But, for a general trait thing, this (though it was done in fun on another site) holds pretty true for the traits of each person...if you're curious....
JANUARY = SHYNESS

In Astrology there is no such thing as being on the cusp....you are one sign or another. To find out which sign you are get an Ephemeris...a book that tells what sign you are for each day over a period of 100 years. You can't go by the newspaper's dates for the changeover date on your Sun sign...because it changes every year. Sometimes on the 22nd...other years the 23rd...some years on the 21st.
Also...for each planet...moon and sun...you have a certain sign that corresponds to that planet...also you have a rising sign or ascendant sign. So you may be a Capricorn for example...but your rising sign might be Libra...or whatever sign. After the age of 30 you begin to take on many characteristics of your RISING sign as well as your SUN sign. So to truly know your compatability with others you need to know what makes up YOUR sign...and THEIRS...and compare the two. Once again an ephemeris book becomes invaluable.
Finally ...of all the books on astrology I've ever read...the best and MOST FUN book out there is "Seduction by the stars" !! If you are truly interested in astrology...and want to understand how to get the person of your dreams...no matter what sign...do yourself a favor and get this book. You'll laugh....and LOVE :-) | |

I tend to agree with people that it is easy to throw about some characteristics and people latch onto them, but I find it a little more than coincidental when I can start predicting people's sun sign to them.
Back to the original topic, I do put a little store in someone's sign. As a Scorpio I find that I am most compatible with my fellow water signs along with other Scorpios (I do enjoy a challenge). I would never make my decisions based on a chart or something I read in a magazine. I usually look up compatibility after I have dated someone for a while and only then as a form of entertainment.  | |

Posted: 10/15/2007 1:27:42 PM | There is something in astrology that some things are true, there is something to it. I know that scorpios and I just don't mix - too sensitive and moody. Sometimes it sheds a light on someone's personality, but never 100%. There can be an "aha" moment. Like my daughter is a pices - okay maybe THAT's why she never gets out of the tub and loves fish. Cancers - homebodies, tough on the outside, tender on the inside (if you ever get in). My family has a sagitarian/virgo thing going - just about everyone is matched up that way - very cerebral. I've dated a number of Virgo's too. Leo's, aries, get along very well Gemini's get us. All my girlfreinds boyfreinds never got along - somehow we all ended up marrying Auqaurians and they all get along, funny. My dad and I CANNOT tell jokes - apparently its a Sagitarian thing, whew! In support of Sagitarians, we are very emotional and very intense, not everyone gets to see it though - we play the lighthearted clown too often.  | |

A great deal of it is "on spot" but a bit of it makes me laugh because it is so not me.
I dated a Libra for 8 months and my son is also a Libra. Everything I have
read about Libra's seems to hold true. In correspondence, I have actually
asked when the persons birthday is, because after dating a Libra for
8 months, I now sort of try to avoid them.
