Well, your first mistake was having your Ex do your chart.
LOL LOL
Why is that exactly? A chart is a chart isn't it? I mean, if it's open to the bias of the reader how's it useful at all? You're supposed to be able to use your chart to carefully predict your own future. No one's more biased about your own future than you.

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/1/2007 9:47:56 AM | I would say to look at people you've known well for a longtime, look at their zodiac signs, and see how close they actually match the supposed traits of somebody born under this sign. You'll see that individuals often don't match the personality traits of someone born under their sign. I know I don't closely match my sign as far as the type of person I'm supposed to be.
To use zodiac signs as a way of judging who's a good match for you, instead of just getting to know them and judge for yourself, is really limiting. You also could pass over the love of your life by discounting somebody simply because they were born on the "wrong" day.
Sure, zodiac signs can be fun to look at, and I don't deny that I sometimes read my horoscope in the morning paper, and laugh if it happens to seem relevant, to base a major life decision like who you want to spend your life with on them, makes no sense.

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/1/2007 10:39:04 AM | Given that you've been surprised by the effect of matter on "non physical photons" I don't think I have anything more I can contribute to your understanding.
I'm going now to gaze into my mirror and contemplate my relationship to the light bulb above it.

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/1/2007 12:15:30 PM | | I've studied astrology in depth and found you need to consider more than just the Sun signs of partners and that is why you often find certain signs to be compatible that you wouldn't normally consider. It depends on what your rising sign is (what time you were born), house and planet (venus, mars) placements, etc. It's fun anyways........... | |

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/1/2007 2:09:14 PM | | you may get along well with a Sag because Gems and Sags are both free spirited and highly intuitive. But they're still very different. The down fall in that relationship would probably be lack of stability because both want to move around and do their own thing and their thought patterns differ. But everybody is different. I myself would prefer being with someone that's my opposite but not totally different if ya know what I mean lol! That's my Sag nature coming out. Sags like to explore and be around different things, places, and people. Caps and Gems are very different and would probably have some difficulties but if you really like the person you would compromise the differences and learn from each other. I wouldn't base every problem with astrology. It really has to do with people's maturity levels but at the same time it's nice to have some things in common too. | |

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/1/2007 2:28:38 PM | | I dont think you should really bother about star signs with a relationship but i am a capricorn and my ex husband was a sagi and i do think sometimes perhaps our star signs were to close together we only had 3 weeks in between our birthdays that perhaps that had a helping hand in our problems. | |

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/1/2007 5:58:32 PM | Of the women I've dated, those as friends and acquaintances, I have noticed a pattern of compatibility with some signs and one sign who seemed to never be attracted to me.
Hard to be sure, but it's interesting to note. I do perk up a little when I see particular signs in profiles and imagine they'd be a better match.
Now if I could line up 6 dates with someone from each of the 12 houses, I'd be happy to make an informed report! ..grin..

That's an excellent place to assign the blame. I hadn't really considered how eminently useful this astrology stuff was.

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/1/2007 7:40:24 PM | Well its not written in stone . Id never turn someone away because of their sign ,although....Sag and Me (Taurus) do not mix........get along great as friends but not in a relationship we seem to be on the other end of the spectrum. Taurus are known to like their surroundings and comfort and Sag like to roam more , more of a free spirit I guess you could say...most of my dates have been Sag and I never really looked into this but after NONE have worked out , coincidence? meh....could be all just mumbo jumbo, but Flags definatly go up when I see a Sagi Sign in profile lol...but they say Capricorns and Taurus are the best match too....I disagree with that also. its just based on the person themselves , but I do find it very interesting .

I'm very much a Sagittarius, but my Sun happens to be in the 2nd house, so I would have an affinity with Sun- or Moon-sign Taureans. But in the end, it depends on the effort BOTH make to make a relationship work, regardless of astrological compatibility.

My thoughts exactly just very astounded that the ones that never worked out were Sagittarius..........I find it odd. But these men were not the best in characters anyways , I don't blame the sign at all, just interesting.

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/2/2007 4:23:07 PM | | well you may have been attracted to sags because they are very different from taurus. Taurus is and earth sign and sag fire. Fire signs and earth signs complement each other because of their differences. I'm a sag but I have a cap moon and a Libra ascendant. there are other influences in each person. I'm dating a cap with a taurus moon and yes we have a lot of differences but we learn to accept them and learn from each other. I don't think I would want to be with someone the same as me. That would probably be very unstable lol! | |

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/2/2007 6:28:50 PM | Actually I just thought of an astrological question sort of
Are scorpios as hot in the sack as is rumoured?
|
| |
| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/2/2007 6:57:04 PM | Well to be fair, being a scorp I would obviously have to take anything you claim with a lorry load of salt due to the obvious lack of impartiality
I was really looking for non scorps appraisels of scorps as thats bound to be far more reliable you understand

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/2/2007 6:57:36 PM | I happened to notice this thread and thought I'd make a comment. I've been an astrologer for 18 years, and have found, by and large, that the study of relationships through astrology can be an amazingly enlightening experience. I have counseled tons of people in their relationships using astrology. I must say here, it isn't as simple as looking at sun signs, although that's an important function - but its the entire chart that needs to be addressed. We have the importance, for example, of Venus, which indicates the way in which we love, and are loved. We view Mars as the passion planet - showing us what turns us on, sexually or otherwise. The Moon shows us our emotional needs, and the Sun sign, our specific identity. All of us have all the planets in our chart, and they all mean something. When I look at astrological compatibility (called "synastry" in astro-lese), I take a big look at the way two people have been conditioned, as well as instinctively, relate. The compatibility comes when say, one's Mars meets someone's Venus (that usually means a nice zyzz - a sexual spark, if you will).
I noticed a posting asking about Scorpios being the most sexual sign - that is true, but for a reason. The word "intensity" is the key element here - and sexuality is probably the most intense physical experience one can have. The bonding of two souls is the key goal of the Scorpionic sexual experience.
Its a great tool to understand the self, as well as others. I welcome any questions anyone might have.

Hey, I just noticed this thread just now - being a psychic and/or astrologist isn't something that is mutually exclusive

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/2/2007 7:50:41 PM | | A class of college students were given a test of questions to predict their personalities. The tests were collected and returned. Then each was asked if the results were accurate. All seemed amazed by the results as magic; dead on many exclaimed! After this, all were told to swap their results with another in the class. In shock they discovered that each had an identical print out of results. | |

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/2/2007 8:20:35 PM | I learned from many of my Asian students that they believe compatability is based on blood type. They were as surprised at me not knowing my blood type as I was at them not knowing their Astrology signs or even their Chinese Zodiac signs. "Viva La Difference. " (Not knowing correct French spelling, I may have misspelled the latter. My bad.) WD | |

| astrology and relationships Posted: 12/7/2007 6:49:09 PM | | Very interesting information. I just wondered, being an Aries with Taurus rising, Leo moon, Venus and Mars in Aquarius..... Are there any particular sun signs that would be more compatible? Thanks..... | |

I'm an Aries, I generally don't go after challenges and I'm exremely patient and unselfish. I'm not easily angered and have a tremendously long fuse. I don't lose interest easily and I'm not easily bored. I'm not egotistical. I tend to be not too athletic. Yeah... got that one dead on.
As I look through, I think of all my family members and there isn't a single one that would be described by their sign. I've got a Gemini that doesn't like change, stable as a rock Cancer, rather un-eccentric Aquarius, and three Tauruses that are all very different from one another.
If I'm going to just accept part correct as good enough I can then probably swap them to any other one on the list because I have some qualities from every single on of these "signs" (except maybe Capricorn). More than likely everyone does.

| The signs in a nutshell: Posted: 12/8/2007 9:57:55 AM | Cath,
I suppose I'd have to consider it a challenge in some way for it to be one. I don't. Also, I said that I 'generally' don't go after challenges. the Aries is supposed to seek them. It's hard to completely avoid them in life. That in itself would be a challenge.
And I take it back about Capricorn.
