You can travel the world But you can't run away From the person you are in your heart You can be who you want to be Make us believe in you Keep all your light in the dark If you're searching for truth You must look in the mirror And make sense of what you can see
Just be Just be
They say learning to love yourself Is the first step That you take when you want to be real Flying on planes To exotic locations wont teach you How you really feel Face up to the fact that you are who you are And nothing can change that belief
Just be Just be
'Cause now I know It's not so far To where I go The hardest part is inside me I need to
Just be Just be
I was lost and I'm still lost but I feel so much better
'Cause now I know It's not so far To where I go The hardest part is inside me I need to
Just be Just be | |

When you wish upon a star Makes no difference who you are Anything your heart desires Will come to you
If your heart is in your dream No request is too extreme When you wish upon a star As dreamers do
Fate is kind She brings to those who love The sweet fulfillment of Their secret longing Like a bolt out of the blue Fate steps in and sees you through When you wish upon a star Your dreams come true

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/3/2008 11:05:10 PM | I always had sort of a snide attitude toward "The Circle of Life", as in who couldn't write like that for several million dollars. Just more fare for the money making machinery... though musically I like the song. Till one day a lady creating a monument for a long loved & recently lost husband asked me to put it in granite for her. When I reread it in that connection I teared up and felt a little like a fool, realizing the writer had more going for him than just another commercial creation.
"From the the day we arrive on the planet ... And blinking step into the sun There's more to be seen than can ever be seen ... More to do than can ever be done
. . . . . Some say eat or be eaten . . . . . Some say live and let live But all are agreed as they join the stampede You should never take more than you give
In the circle of life It's the wheel of fortune It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope Till we find our place On the path unwinding In the circle, the circle of life
Some of us fall by the wayside And some of us soar to the stars And some of us sail through our troubles And some have to live with the scars
There's far too much to take in here More to find than can ever be found But the sun rolling high through the sapphire sky Keeps great and small on the endless round....

Big Sky I am giving you the blame How did I ever get stuck in this? Give me some grace again.

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/5/2008 1:54:39 PM | Mission By Rush - Lee, Lifeson, Peart
Hold your fire Keep it burning bright Hold the flame ‘til the dream ignites A spirit with a vision Is a dream with a mission
I hear their passionate music Read the words that touch my heart I gaze at their feverish pictures The secrets that set them apart
When I feel their powerful visions Their fire has made alive I wish I had that instinct I wish I had that drive
Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire Focused high on soaring ambitions Consumed in a single desire
In the grip of a nameless possession A slave to the drive of obsession A spirit with a vision Is a dream with a mission
I watch their images flicker Bringing life to a lifeless screen I walk through their beautiful buildings And I wish I had their dreams
But dreams don’t need to have motion To keep their spark alive Obsession has to have action Pride turns on the drive
It’s cold comfort To the ones without it To know how they struggled How they suffered about it
If their lives were exotic and strange They would likely have gladly exchanged them For something a little more plain Maybe something a little more sane
We each pay a fabulous price For our visions of Paradise But a spirit with a vision Is a dream with a mission

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/7/2008 7:37:20 AM | Written by Charlie Chaplinand composed by Paul McCartney
Laugh when your eyes are burning Smile when your heart is filled with pain Sigh as you brush away your sorrow Make a vow that it's not gonna happen again
It's not right in one life too much rain
You know the wheels keep turning Why do the tears run down your face? We used to hide away our feelings But for now tell yourself it won't happen again
It's not right in one life too much rain
It's too much for anyone Too hard for anyone Who wants a happy and peaceful life You've gotta learn to laugh
Smile when you're spinning round and round Sigh as you think about tomorrow Make a vow that your gonna be happy again
It's all right in your life no more rain
It's too much for anyone Too hard for anyone Who wants a happy and peaceful life You've gotta learn to laugh

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/8/2008 11:07:32 PM | | Lots of songs have touched my heart very deeply, specially coming from a pentecostal church where the worship can get quite intense. But I think one of the most moving cds Ive ever listened to is The Fathers House by Brian Doerkson. It always reminds me of when Princess Diana died as I was playing it alot at that time. So it makes it somewhat sadder for me. | |

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/10/2008 10:41:25 PM | I love music and listen to it all the time....I have been touched deeply by an Artist who sings this song....He was very young when he wrote it....Declan Galbraith....I 1st came across it on U-tube....Here are the words....and its called *An Angel*
I wish I had your pair of wings Had them last night in my dreams..... I was chasing butterflies till the sunrise broke my eyes. Tonight the skies have glued my eyes cause what they see is an Angel hive..... I've got to touch that magic sky, greet the angels in their hive...
Sometimes I wish I were an Angel sometimes I wish I were you..... Sometimes I wish I were an angel sometimes I wish I were you...
Sends me honey from above pour it all over me sweet love... While your flying around my head your honey kisses keep me fed...
I wish I had a pair of wings just like last night in my dreams... I was lost in paradise I wish I'd never opened my eyes....
Sometimes I wish I were an Angel sometimes I wish I were you......... Sometimes I wish I were an Angel sometimes I wish I were you........
But there's danger in the air trying so hard to be unfair..... Danger in the air tryin so hard to give us a scare.... but we're not afraid.................
Sometimes I wish I were an Angel sometimes I wish I were you........ Sometimes I wish I were an Angel sometimes I wish I were you....... I wish I were you I wish I were you..........
If you ever get to hear this, its absolutely beautiful.....I downloaded it from limewire... thank yu for allowing this space for me to share this with you.......

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/11/2008 12:18:30 PM | Well I have been extremely touched by Evanscence - My Immortal, Within Temptation - Memories and Sarah McLachlin - In The Arms Of An Angel, as well as Supertramp - School. The list is getting longer but I thought this song I copy and pasted here incredible, almost like Great Gig In The Sky. Of course it goes without saying, no one can show you the Matrix, you have to see it for yourself. I really appreciated its rhythm, cadence and crescendo.
Amused To Death by Roger Waters Perfect Sense, Part I The monkey sat on a pile of stones And he stared at the broken bone in his hand And the strains Viennese quartet Rang out across the land The monkey looked up at the stars And he thought to himself Memory is a stranger History is for fools And he cleaned his hands In a pool of holy writing Turned his back on the garden And set out for the nearest town Hold on hold on soldier When you add it all up The tears and marrowbone There's an ounce of gold And an ounce of pride in each ledger And the Germans killed the Jews And the Jews killed the Arabs And Arabs killed the hostages And that is the news And is it any wonder That the monkey's confused He said Mama Mama The President's a fool Why do I have to keep reading These technical manuals And the joint chiefs of staff And the brokers on Wall Street said Don't make us laugh You're smart kid Time is linear Memory's a stranger History's for fools Man is a tool in the hands Of the great God Almighty And they gave him command Of a nuclear submarine And sent him back in search of The Garden of Eden
Of course Juno Reactor, and Don Davis rock my inner world. Paul Oakenfold too in the song Unafraid - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34Kfy2n8ihk

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/11/2008 12:29:30 PM | Amused To Death... I have that on my playing list I think, great song.
Here's a George Harrison number that resonates:
We were talking-about the space between us all And the people-who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion Never glimpse the truth-then it's far too late-when they pass away. We were talking-about the love we all could share-when we find it To try our best to hold it there-with our love With our love-we could save the world-if they only knew. Try to realise it's all within yourself No-one else can make you change And to see you're really only very small, And life flows within you and without you. We were talking-about the love that's gone so cold and the people, Who gain the world and lose their soul- They don't know-they can't see-are you one of them? When you've seen beyond yourself-then you may find, peace of mind, Is waiting there- And the time will come when you see we're all one, and life flows on within you and without you.

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/11/2008 1:25:15 PM | Mine is a song by the B-52's. Yeah right you think I'm out of my mind. That's actually besides the point. It's called There's a moon in the Sky: it's Called the Moon. Stop laughing.
There's a moon in the sky It's called the moon And everybody is there, including, Saturn, Mercury Venus, Mars, Jupiter The Van Allen Belt
Roll-roll-roll-roll-rollin' in Andromeda Won-ton-ton-ton rama-in-Andromeda
This is the Space Age There's too many rings There's too many things Just ain't no atmosphere tonight Can't get no s**t to do tonight
If you're lucky you get to ride in a gold meteorite If you're not, you get a mouth, a mouthful of red Kryptonite You better move over Here comes a Super-nova Destination moon
If you're in outer space Don't feel out of place 'cause there are thousands of others like you Others like you Others like you
Well there's a moon, it's in the sky, It's called the moon And everybody is there including Uranus, Neptune, Pluto Destination moon
Many gamma rays around it Van Allen Belt surrounds it This is the Space Age Please don't worry Just don't worry Don't worry Others like you Others like you

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/12/2008 7:12:38 PM | Who cannot be touched by these words?
The Light That Has Lighted The World
I've heard how some people, have said That I’ve changed That I’m not what I was How it really is a shame The thoughts in their heads, Manifest on their brow Like bad scars from ill feelings They themselves arouse So hateful of anyone that is happy Or 'free' They live all their lives, Without looking to see The light that has lighted the world
It's funny how people, just won't Accept change As if nature itself - they'd prefer Re-arranged So hard to move on When you're down in a hole Where there's so little chance, To experience soul
I'm grateful to anyone, That is happy or 'free' For giving me hope While I’m looking to see
The light that has lighted the world

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/16/2008 6:28:00 AM | …and one of the greatest songs I ever heard:
Positively 4th Street
You got a lotta nerve To say you are my friend When I was down You just stood there grinning
You got a lotta nerve To say you got a helping hand to lend You just want to be on The side that's winning
You say I let you down You know it's not like that If you're so hurt Why then don't you show it
You say you lost your faith But that's not where it's at You had no faith to lose And you know it
I know the reason That you talk behind my back I used to be among the crowd You're in with
Do you take me for such a fool To think I'd make contact With the one who tries to hide What he don't know to begin with
You see me on the street You always act surprised You say, "How are you?" "Good luck" But you don't mean it
When you know as well as me You'd rather see me paralyzed Why don't you just come out once And scream it
No, I do not feel that good When I see the heartbreaks you embrace If I was a master thief Perhaps I'd rob them
And now I know you're dissatisfied With your position and your place Don't you understand It's not my problem
I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes And just for that one moment I could be you
Yes, I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes You'd know what a drag it is To see you

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/17/2008 1:19:04 AM | That would probably be... City Of Delusion by Muse (a UK band.... sort of underground, sort of not. maybe someone here has hear of them?)
Stay away from me Build a fortress And shield your beliefs Touch the divine As we fall in line
Can I believe When I don't trust All your theories Turn to dust I choose to hide From the all seeing eye
Destroy this City of Delusion Break these walls down I will avenge Justify my reasons With your blame
You'll not rest Settle for less Until you guzzle And squander what's left Do not deny That you live and let die
Destroy this City of Delusion Break these walls down I will avenge Justify my reasons With your blame
Destroy this City of Delusion Break these walls down I will avenge Justify my reasons With your blame
I'm sorry, that was mean to religious people. But seriously, this song made me think HARD about the whole religion thing.

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/17/2008 1:25:56 AM | Ok one more that is a little more up beat.. I heard it the day Benazir Bhutto died (did I spell her name right?) What got me was "Why can't we see? When we bleed we bleed the same!". Beautiful!! That and blackout, played at my nephews funeral, and it mean so much to me to hear a song I loved played for someone I loved!
Map Of The Problematique Lyrics
Fear and panic in the air I want to be free >From desolation and despair And I feel like everything I saw Is being swept away When I refuse to let you go
I can't get it right Get it right Since I met you
Loneliness be over When will this loneliness be over
Life will flash before my eyes So scattered and lost I want to touch the other side And no one thinks they are to blame Why can't we see That when we bleed we bleed the same
I can't get it right Get it right Since I met you
Loneliness be over When will this loneliness be over Loneliness be over When will this loneliness be over
Blackout Lyrics
don't kid yourself and don't fool yourself this love's too good to last and i'm too old to dream
don't grow up too fast and don't embrace the past this life's too good to last and i'm too young to care
don't kid yourself and don't fool yourself this life could be the last and we're too young to see

| Has there been a song that really touched you spiritually? Posted: 7/18/2008 10:59:28 AM | Amazing Grace
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see.
T'was Grace that taught... my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear... the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares... we have already come. T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far... and Grace will lead us home.
The Lord has promised good to me... His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be... as long as life endures.
When we've been here ten thousand years... bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise... then when we've first begun.
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see.
T'was Grace that taught... my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear... the hour I first believed.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see.
It reminds me of my Grandmother. I love the history behind the song as much as the song itself. Negro Spirituals were written on the black keys of the piano. "Amazing Grace" is a so-called "white spiritual." The white spirituals were written by white composers who used only the black keys.
The five keys (notes) are called the pentatonic scale, but in early America were referred to as the "slave scale". They build the power and pathos of the Negro Spirituals with their unique West African Sorrow Chant sound.
The words to Amazing Grace were written by John Newton, a former Captain of a Slave Ship. After Newton came to salvation through Jesus Christ, he heard a melody coming from the belly of the ship, and it is believed it was to that sorrowful melody that he wrote the words and named it Amazing Grace. No one knows who wrote the music.
Some believe God planned it to be written that way to remind us that we are all humans in common, no matter what race, creed, or color we happen to be. We are all connected by God's Amazing Grace.
