or messages where they keep telling you how much they want to get to know you....if they scroll down to the bottom of the profile it clearly states that i am not looking for anything....ffs, these guys just don't get it.... | |

I kinda wondered why the sudden interest in my profile at that time but was just happy to be noticed at the time. After dating for some time, we broke up, I start getting emails from these prior contacts. (I had informed them that i was seeing someone at that time and contact had stopped) The ones that i had never met or talked on the phone to. Turns out all the ladies were my ex gfriends other profiles. the ones she was using to make sure i was not multiple dating on her with. I passed her first test and we dated for several months. I discovered she was not my type and broke it off. I am dissapionted that i fell for her other profiles and have to admit that I was a bit underknowlaged at that time. She was quite ingenius. Now a pic, can be copied a pasted from where ever, is not enough for me to travell to meet a lady. I've been burnt more than once as far as pics go. Don't go implying i am shallow. Nothing of the sort. I would like to meet the lady that I have been talking to on the internet for a few weeks, to be who she claims, not what she wants me to believe she is. | |

To answer your headlining question, "Why are some guys so stupid?", it's for the same reason that some gals are so stupid...Lack of intelligence.
I have been wondering why some people feel the need to send the same messages to everyone.
Perhaps they are inflicted with a lack of literary prowess and have a hard time being original in their opening message. Then again, maybe they feel that the specific email that they sent you is a very good one. In this case they may then have the "if it's not broken, don't fix it" mentality.
My roommate and I get messages from guys and they are exactly the same.
If someone sends you an email on a dating web site, they probably don't expect you to share that email with all of your girlfriends and roommates (which is very rude), thus they find no reason to Tailor the emails to each different person it's sent to.
why would we respond to anyone that is putting absolutely no thought into what they are sending.
There are two possible reasons for this. You can respond just to be courteous, or you can respond to tell then that you are not interested. If you would take 40 seconds out of your busy life to let them know how you feel, you may be saving yourself more email from this person, and could possibly be helping others in the process.
If they did not answer the first time I don't think the 30th time is going to be any different
So why would you not answer an email the first time? Even if it was one of these "unoriginal" emails that seem to annoy you so much, the person who sent it has taken the time to contact you and show interest. The least you could do is send a short message in response to let them know that you have no interest in the situation. Not only would that be the nice thing to do, but like I said earlier, this may save you the hassle of getting more email, and then you wouldn't' have to cry about it so much.
