Well, I think those few years where the best in my life so far - if I would be able to turn back the time I would choose the 80is.
I still try to find places where they play a good mix of late 70/80ies.
But I am over pink and blue eyeshadows and shoulder pads :-)

The 80's for me were VERY HOT! I miss them. I loved the group "Poison" but some of the guys I met back then looked prettier than me in make up......The music was great. You could dance to the same song (re-mixed) for an hour....you just had to make sure you were dancing with a guy you REALLY liked.
I miss dancing........

The best thing about the 80's....the music! Motely Crue, Poison, Inxs, Bon Jovi, Guns and Roses...the list goes on! A had a good friend whose father was a company CEO...we went to every concert/ first row.....there's nothing like Jon Bon Jovi sweating on you when your 18..

Second best thing? Some of my clothes! But that would apply to more of the early 80's when I could get away with looking like a female version of Vince Neil...the black leather pants...cropped/cut tank top....Blonde/black hair teased a foot high...chains...and let's not forget the 6" high heel boots! My mom passed out everything I left the house..LOL. hmmm...I think I still have some of those clothes put away....yipes!

Third best thing? My first car....a 77' Mustang that kicked butt.

One of the sad things about the 80's.....the Mustangs...that was a bad decade for my favorite car...LOL.

I loved the fact that because I was a child/teenager in the 80's I could just do my homework and have fun with little responsibilities.

I loved the 80's. there was so much music experimentation going on that lacked in the 90's and beyond. And disco died in the 80's!!! no more abba!!! Punk music was still real 'punk' and rap could not be heard on pop radio and was actually half decent and not so mysogynist and irritating.

I keep thinking of shows like "Threes company", "Thats incredible", "Bizarre", "Cheers" ... i actually watched a lot of TV then because it was so damn interesting and the writers were actually witty & pushing the limit.

Hostess chips made the mistake of making grape & cherry chips.. LOL And Max Headroom still looked 'futuristic'. Video arcade games were simple yet entertaining. Pac man, Donkey Kong, Rock n' Rope. There were hardly any graphic violent games then. (unlike now.. i've seen games now that have more blood & gore than horror flicks.. it's rather boring)

The music was summed up like this : "The future's so bright..i gotta wear shades!"
Everyone was talking about how we'd be flying in spaceships by the time 2000 came. Even when i saw the article about the 'future of music being on CDs" back in 82'... it seemed like it was decades away.

Unfortunately, the 80's lead us on to a false sense of hope and it brought darker times. Even the music got boring & uninventive all over again like how disco was in 78 (hip-house, techno..ugh.. didn't we learn the lesson about 'disco sucks' the first time around?)

80's was HOT... but probably more likely if you lived your teens thru the 80's.

I still have my rubics cube. w00t w00t.

Loved the back to the future movies!
Van Halen, Quiet Riot, Def-Lepard, Ozzy,

Women were much more better lookin back then, more toned, bigger boobs, better personality.

Three's Company, The Facts of Life, Dukes of Hazard were great TV shows. We don't get shows like that any more.

Ah the eighties; they were the best of times, they were the worst of times.

Riots, the miners' strike, shoulderpads, neon lipstick, perestroika, yuppies, legwarmers, home video games, being a teenager, , learning to drive, Lady Di, the levis 501 laundrette advert, the fall of the Berlin Wall, video recorders, Spitting Image, Duran Duran, spray on jeans, t-shirts with slogans on, Chernobyl, Wham, Thatcher, court shoes, ford escort Mk IIIs (I had one), Clive Sinclair and the Rubik's cube.

But not necessarily in that order.

I miss the 80's ! I miss the hairstyles too (I still tease my bangs when I go out ). I think that was a hot decade. I miss it greatly. Where kids were KIDS!, you know. We actually went rollerskating to have fun, not these rave things that they do now. It was alot of fun back then!!

I was just a pup in the 80s, but there are a number of 80 songs I like.
Sure the videos were hilarious in that they were trying way too hard to look cool and failing...but some of the music is haunting.
