Didn't those shoulder pads start with Don Johnson on Miami Vice????

The 80's was a good time for me, good music, good movies, wild hair, and a much simpler time. I remember back in high school everybody wanted to find a job so they could buy a car. Back then you could work thee to four months, save your $$$$ and actually buy a descent car for $1000. It was cool to buy a old muscle car and not drive a foreign job. If you drove a Honda or a Toyota back then the other kids would poke fun of you. A noisy exhaust consisted of a V8 with two glass packs on a old musclecar, not a fart pipe on a Honda.

C'mon guys, tell the truth....Did anyone roll up their suits and wear ultra skinny ties with converse sneakers?

Or was I the only one going for the Ducky look?

I occasionally, secretly, bust out the parachute pants, or the MJ red zipper jacket.

Okay, no I don't, but I would if I still weighed 80 pounds.

The year was 1987,
-the shoes were glow in the dark zebra patterned Chuck Taylors
-the jeans I don't recall but they were tight-rolled at the end.
-the hair was shaved bald with a "shag" or a "rat tail"
- I was listening to the albums: Prince's "lovesexy", Michael Jackson "bad" and LL Cool J "bigger and deffer"
it was all good at the time:)

No, not at all - whatever in my profile would give even the slightest hint that I loved the 80s?

All kidding aside -while I can't say it was the best time of my life or anything, I did love the 80s - and I'll have to say that even the cheesy, semi-lame music of the era holds its own against some of the so called "better" music of the 90s.

And yes, I even liked the clothing, and the need for multiple cans of Aqua Net.

And I still have in my closet a maroon Members Only jacket - and a blotchy, acid-watched denim jacket, and those leather pants in that one picture of mine? Well, they still fit just as well as they did IN that picture - the pic wasn't taken all that long ago, after all.

some of you peeps have no clue what decade you are talking about:

star wars, alien, dukes of hazzard, three's company are all mid to late 70's

80's were lame... the music silly, the fashion even more silly. 90's is where it rocked.

80's were alright. Motley Crue killed metal with Home Sweet Home. After that everyone started writing power ballads, into the first part of the 90's as well. That's when Nirvana finally ended all that nonsense.

Sort of miss big hair, I posted a big hair pic of me in tribute.

haha

"the music silly, the fashion even more silly. 90's is where it rocked. "

Yeah, I just caught an episode of "fresh prince of bel air". Now I realized where all of Heathcliff's Huxtable's sweaters ended up, as T-shirts for Will Smith!

Grimy Grundge Shirts? Hammer Poopy pants? Wigger Ice-T outfits? Pump it up Reeboks?

I don't if that's an improvement from Acid Jeans, Rolled up suits and the rise of the muscle pants.

Glam metal Hair Bands vs Grunge? New Wave vs Nu Soul? Run DMC vs Naughty by Nature? Public Enemy before or after 1990?

Well, I'll let the audience choose that.

I loved the music back then. And some of the clothes. Hmmm, also some of the cartoons and toys were awesome. Yeah...the 80s were good to me.

From what i can remember of the 80s, it was pretty bad lol neon was in, big hair was in, high-waisted pants...i guess one had to be older than pre-teens during it to appreciate.

I loved the 80's personally.....I had a blast! It was the time for my generation to become adults.....doesn't every generation think that time was especially great?

I don't miss the "big hair" though....do you have any idea how difficult it was to keep it looking that way all day long?!

every decade there are positive elements...and negative elements...the decades are not perfect...anyways i prefer the 20's to 70's...unfortunately i was not around or was too young to appreciate it...maybe we can go back...Ophrah had a party that everybody dressed like they were in their 60's...cool

Seems high-waisted now . . but the funny thing is, when thinking about it, the waistline was, well, actually at the waist!
