how is it they know he is uncut? and why are they teasing him? most be more to this story
both my boys are uncut and i don't hear/see anyone teasing them so I'm a bit confused about OP's son's situation
i would personally set aside the issue of circumsion and deal with the teasing | |

Its very painful and embarrassing for the boys .He will need reg. check ups post surgery to safe guard against post - op complications and since the majorilty of nurses are female . .......
A little teasing is no biggy..... Of course I agree with the other posts you really should consult a Dr.

boys do not tease about that stuff ,boys do not check each other out like that ?they all look the same hard,,they are only concerned with the size .and its mostly all talk ...if someone has been teasing him and he is showing someone ...he might be getting molested? I would investigate the who is teasing thing ...seriously lady ..as noted by whitetigeress above i would personally set aside the issue of circumsion and deal with the teasing and by who .. | |

Posted: 10/22/2007 1:01:18 PM | 12 years old is too young for a child to make such a serious and permanent decision about surgery, IMO.
Many pediatricians are recommending against circumcision.
My thinking is why cut on somebody unless there is a solid medical reason to do so? Good hygiene and preventive practices with sexual partners can take care of some of the concerns that people use to justify this surgery.
Many of my son's friends are not circumcised - around here it seems to be 50/50, with religious practices accounting for those who are.

I agree that circumcision isn't the best way to avoid HIV. I stated that it DOES reduce the risk of infection, and that the World Health Organization is now recommending circumcision as a method of slowing the spread of HIV. Wrapping your pinto is essential, but even that doesn't completely eliminate the risk (Trojan's slogan is "Reduce the Risk").
Lebowski, if any carving of the human body is barbaric, then appendectomies are barbaric. Lumpectomies and mastectomies are also barbaric. Delivering a baby by C-section is barbaric. And so it is with any surgery. Yet, in some cases these procedures are necessary to save lives. Should we condemn them?
If you use the term barbaric to describe any carving of the human body, you end up with hundreds of barbarous acts in our hospitals every day. Barbarism becomes the norm, and the word loses any descriptive value.
My objection to the original statement was that the hyperbole went too far; likening all Jews to barbarians is a bit extreme.
As for the long term mental health effects of circumcision... how many circumsized men do you know that remember anything about their circumcision? True, they may subconsciously remember the pain, just as they might subconsciously remember the pain of their head being squished by contractions during labour. How would you know which pain, if any, is at the root of the mental health problem? | |

Actually I know many who want a less sensitive penis - it means they can last longer. I've even heard them argue that's a good reason to get circumcised. All those in favour were chopped as infants, presumably, can't imagine they'd be willing to do it as adults although who knows...
Anyway, if the kid has made it to the age of 12 with his foreskin he might as well wait another 6 years till he's old enough to decide for himself. | |

As to the questions why my son is being teased, in Grade 4, sex education was being introduced at their school. I don't think anyone has seen his organ nor has he been molested. He must have discussed it with some kids at school.
What he is blaming me for, is why wasn't he circumcised when he was a baby. He knows it will hurt excruciatingly now as he is older if surgery is done.
I have taught my son personal hygiene on uncircumcised penis. This is also part of the reason as to why he disliked not being circumcised.
As to the sexual intercourse part of it, I have been told by a couple of friends that they prefer circumcised one. Personally, I have no experience on this.
People, let's try not to insult one another here PLEASE... Thank you for all the comments and if I can get more input that'll be greatly appreciated. | |
