From Simpson's Episode "Lisa's Substitute," Springfield Elementary student, Martin, campaigning for class president:

Martin: As your president, I would demand a science-fiction library, featuring the overlords of the genre: Asimov, Bester, Clarke!

Kid: What about Ray Bradbury?

Martin: (dismissingly) I am aware of his work.

I have a few:

- The best way to prepare for life is to begin to live

- When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us

and finally but not least;

- Work like you don't need the money
Love like you've never been hurt
And dance like no one is watching

This is a long one, it's from one of my favorite movies and my most favorite scene:

"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose so let me simply add it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V." ~ V, V for Vendetta

When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us
** so very very true, sounds like something my twin would say, lol**

most of my favorite quotes are on my profile but here are a few more:

- "I am waiting for the day that I can strip naked and stand on top of a port-o-potty and scream "I AM THE KING OF THE WORLD" B

- "Because sometimes the only way you can feel good about yourself is by making someone else look bad. And I'm tired of making other people feel good about themselves" Homer Simpson

And a newer one i think I like:
- "To live with Fear and not be afraid is the final test of maturity." Edward Weeks

Famous quote**
- "The only thing we have to Fear is Fear itself." Franklin D. Roosevelt

- Drive fast, take chances
- GO HARD, or go home, just don't go home hard, alone!!

I'm not a big Oprah fan but this one is helpful to anyone trying to make a difficult decision:

Nothing happens until you decide.
When you don't know what to do my best advice is to do nothing until clarity comes.
Getting still, being able to hear your own voice and not the voices of the world, quickens clarity. Once you decide what you want, you make a commitment to that decision. Make a decision and watch your life move forward.

Time is very slow for those who wait
Very fast for those who are scared
Very long for those who lament
Very short for those who celebrate
But for those who love, time is eternity.
- William Shakespeare -
