| Women and their pictures Posted: 3/26/2008 10:15:01 PM | | No dog pictures here, but I do have a picture of a calf sucking on my fingers. You don’t have to date the calf, I promise! Why is the picture on my profile? It was a cool experience, along with the birth of another calf the same day. Just one of life’s simple, out of the ordinary pleasures that I got to experience that day. I think most people (if they’re really here to date/meet) put pictures on their profiles that they feel reflect the essence of who they are in an attempt to give the viewer a pictorial description. | |

I myself would like to see these sites not allowing ANY pictures. I think if we really took the time to know someone without seeing a picture the world would be a better place. We as humans seem to feel as though we have to have a picture that may or may not determine whether or not we'd like to get to know that person..
I am NOT from the shallow end of the gene pool but if there were no photos, there would be no customers - physical attraction is the first thing that attracts you, keeping it real and being yourself through an awesome personality KEEPS the attraction going. Have you ever chatted with someone for a while and felt a connection then met and it just wasn't there? I have, I'd much rather say THIS IS ME through photos because to have someone feel like they wasted their time does NOT improve a relationship/friendship - everyone has their 'thing' they are attracted to in another person......and definite things that are turn-offs....I like the photos, it's the personality that keeps me after the smile attracts me!

have head shots and full body shots of myself, but yes I also have my dogs' pics up - why?, because they are an important part of my life. I have also taken on the responsibility and commitment of taking care of these 2 animals. I will not get rid of them should a man not like them. It truly is a case of love me, love my dogs, or keep on trucking. I have little use for people who abandon their companions simply as an inconvience.
I really appreciate the photos of dogs because I won't get into a relationship with someone who owns a pit bull and wouldn't want to find out they have this dog after a few dates. It's a deal breaker..... and I wouldn't ask or expect someone to give up their animal so if I see a photo of him with his pit, I just click off.

| Women and their pictures Posted: 3/27/2008 2:08:52 AM | I see too many profiles of women in the 18-25 age group which makes me question their self confidence. Do you need to take a cell phone camera shot of your cleavage? Must you take pictures of yourself either close up or 30 feet away from the camera? Do you need to wear sunglasses or upload pictures with your ex boyfriend in them?
In my opinion, a picture should convey something about the woman's personality and show her cuteness. As a man, thats what I look for.
If you're not happy with how you look in a picture, put on a nice dress and go to the park with a friend and a camera. You'll get more responses.
I don't say this to be mean, I just don't want to miss out because a woman doesn't put in the effort to craft a good picture.

| Women and their pictures Posted: 3/27/2008 2:28:47 AM | OP, perhaps these proud lady owners of their four leggy companions are trying to tell the male audience that should you "play your cards right" you could be pampered just as much - if not more - as their pet. Hmm ... besides, there is nothing more comforting and soul nourishing than a happy ~ content and always "hungry" man | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 3/27/2008 4:53:53 AM | Maybe they're trying to give you a clue as to what they look like in real life, LOL! So keep your beer googles off when you meet them for the first time. | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/2/2008 11:12:49 PM | Well I have a pic and my goldens aren't on it with me. LOL! Although, when I do take them for walks they do get me attention. Women walk dogs the same as men do....to get noticed. I've never passed by a golden or their owner without a friendly pet and conversation...works better than wearing a sign...lol | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/2/2008 11:31:01 PM | I love animals too...but I wouldn't add my dog to my profile...I think that both sexes have insecurities ...placing pictures of dogs, cats and other bizarre postcard like photos of landscapes deflects the focus from being judged on your appearance.... which will happen anyway so...skip it...it is what it is | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/3/2008 12:06:00 AM | | lol... I got an email from a guy with a mountain as his profile pic. | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/3/2008 1:52:53 AM | | Yes, I have noticed alot of people have pictures with their dogs, many men do this too along with pictures of cars, trucks and bikes..........I guess to show something about themselves......I only have pictures of myself on my profile. I think I need to take new more interesting photos though? Maybe I should get a dog. | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/3/2008 6:42:18 AM | | Hehehe, Maybe the dog represents the ability of the women to care for someone/something. A homely type who also likes brisk walks in the countryside. But I agree, looking at ugly dog pictures isn't a turn on. | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/3/2008 6:46:33 AM | | I'm not sure, I think no profile pic might bring more attention. It kind of depends how good looking you are, I think personally i might get more attention with no pic! I might try it actually, as my pic is obviously a turn off. But if we are aiming to hook up, i suppose its good to be honest about how bad one looks, lol | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/3/2008 7:13:29 PM | | Sometimes, it is nice to know the person you contact has a pets or a few prior to contacting them in the event one does not care for dogs or cats, reptiles...whatever the case may be. Or perhaps there are allergies. Most pet owners will not give up their furry friends for a relationship that may not last forever. For unfortunately, there are no guarantees in life. This way, there is a little more to the person while reading their profile. It may prompt or prevent someone from initiating communication. The more you know, the better...even if it is through a photo. Less surprises or awkward moments later on. | |

Why do you all use your dogs to get men?
I've been in relationships where the dog gets more attention than my partner, they usually get upset. Its funny, having your girlfriend jealous of their dog getting more attention.
|
| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/4/2008 10:47:04 AM | I'd rather see a photo of someone holding a pet rather than a mobile phone, standing semi naked in a mirror like 50% of the men on here seem to do | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/6/2008 2:05:14 PM | I hate it when a woman puts a picture on her profile thatshows her laying on a bed, how trampy is that. c,om, ladies what are you selling, go to the intimate encounters section. also, stop putting pictures of yourself with fifteen people in the shot. this is not a group social site. plus, it is never a good thing to put a car in your shot(who cares what you drive, that shows you are materialistic), of a girlfriend that is prettier than you. why would anyone do that. makes you look unattractive.

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/6/2008 6:09:53 PM | | My photo looks just like I look now. As far as the bed photos, I figure me on the bed is on a need to know basis. | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/7/2008 9:33:47 AM | | Someone on here wrote that they wished the sites didn't allow pictures that you should get to know the person without seeing them first. That is crazy....It is a dating site and attraction has to be there first. If you come to like somebody a lot because you have talked to them but don't know what they look like then you see them and aren't attracted to them...they will not just become attractive to you.It all starts with attraction. Then hopefully everything else will also fall into place...if not then an attractive person can also become unattractive...but not the other way around. | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/7/2008 10:40:14 AM | | are these 4 pictures of the dogs the girls mates? haha no seriously I think 1 doggy pic is enough, I personally would not put pet or children pics on at all. | |

| Women and their pictures Posted: 4/7/2008 4:21:19 PM | | same reason why guys post pics of their boats/houses and very few of their faces - shows what matters to that person, and their level of insecurity. it's a good thing, wouldn't u rather know? | |
