Hello,

Do you want to do this gathering in January or shall we wait until March or April?

I think I kinda know the area you are talking about...my son has a mecanic shop around the corner from Caseys & the motorcycle place...in a storage area...Big Bear Blvd maybe...

Let me get a list of possible places w/ close hotels and such for you guys. I don't live in Como but I do have family and friends over there. I'd be down to come out and party with you guys.

I live in Jeff City so it sounds great to have a gathering in Columbia. Hopefully some of the older group will come.My Daughter and I are going to try to make it. We have a bar here in Jeff City that's not bad. It may not hold a big group but it has a good band playing there sometimes. They are called str8 arrow. They play in Columbia sometimes also . There's also another bar in Columbia called Cotys and it's really large. The band plays there sometimes. They play country and rock.

Sounds like a plan. How about a show of hands?

How do folks normally distiguish themselves as POFers? I'm 6' 4" 220 lbs, so I'm pretty easy to pick out of a crowd, but what about those of you of lesser stature?

I have the second weekend in Jan open as of now...but if it doesn't work for others, I understand.

As for standing out in a crowd...uh...I'm pretty average...

in our group we have nametags, username, real (first name), area you live in, and of course we mention POF as 100% Free Singles Site, etc etc...some of the ones we've used in the past have been kinda nice and attached with safety pin, others have been done up via printer on paper labels...you make these up as folks sign up for the events..hope this helps!

I'm all for the 19th. I have to MC a charity auction in KC on the 12th, so only the 19th works for me.

It looks like work is pulling me out of town on the 19th now. I'd just as soon wait until March when the weather is milder and everyone is recovered from the holidays. Of course this is just my opinion and everyone is free to do whatever they wish.

I've chatted with Sweetgriner and we've both decided that March or April for the Columbia, Mo gathering would be better.

We'll meet somewhere before the 8:30 dance at American Legion to get acquainted and then we'll go. I'll call some of the motels like the Hampton Inn and go from there.

See you all!

I'll keep checking back to this thread... but could be fun.

From what I've seen from the "matches" section, there may be about 10 people that show up.... lol

I hope more people show up than that!

Looking forward to it!

Has there been any more thoughts of meeting in Columbia? I've read the green link but it doesn't have a specific date...says March or April...

Would anyone be interested in doing something this Friday? Yes, it is late notice...but sometimes spur of moment is best.

Float trip sounds fun... but it's kinda far off.

There's always lots of fun and cool things to do here in Columbia - Art festivals, live music.

Let's come up with something for March!

I also know that the MO BluesNBBQ Fest is coming back this year! If you missed that party, you missed a good one!

What ever happened to a Columbia gathering? I know I started the thread, but then I ended up having to spend 3 weeks in Austin for work.
