While I like sex, I can distinguish my like of sex from my other interests.
I find it appalling that I should even have to SAY that in an open forum.

It's all relative to one's surroundings, etc. I have lived all over and usually...NOT always...but, usually... when someone referred to 'open minded' in a 'dating' scenario, we knew he or she was referencing someone who would be open to various sexual situations...
It's one reason why I avoid using the terminology. Only because I know what it means to those who I've encountered in my lifetime thus far. | |

So because I put it in my profile... well I see you how feel about me now. I do consider myself open minded and I am looking for a guy that is as well. While it does carry over to sex in some ways because I am uninhibited and not bound to what society deems is the right way to behave, it applies to all of my life. When I say open minded I mean just that... someone that isn't not afraid to say no, I disagree with what society says or isn't judgemental of others because they choose to go down a less traveled path. I'm not going to shun you because you had an affair once or because you chose to have an abortion. I'm not going to immediately assume you're a bad person because you had to go to jail for a crime. I look at each person as an individual and treat each with respect until they show me they deserve otherwise.
If it were about sex I'd say "and you must enjoy porn and having sex with the lights on". | |

However, when I see that on a profile, I translate it as sexually adventurous. Which I would interpret as a positive trait.

It means being adventurous and open to new possibilities and ideas. It doesn't always have to be sex or new positions in bed. It seems a lot of men don't get a fair chance to make their opinions and ideas heard. Instead we are condescended for having an idea on something that doesn't fit perfectly into the image she has of him. | |

Men want sex...if they're breathing. Women know this and most of us like that. I wouldn't know what to do with a man who didn't. (not that fond of checkers...hehe) It's not that it's a mystery, it's just in the presentation. There are men and women who'll just pounce anyone, anytime. Some like to get to know someone first and have sex as a part of the relationship (assuming there IS one) but not the whole enchilada.
Noone, male or female should be degraded for having a sex drive, it's just how they handle it. | |
