Here are two different ones I have seen here (paraphrased slightly): "I enjoy art, traveling to new places, and experiencing all the different cultures out there. I enjoy the great outdoors and am just as comfortable attending live theater. I am seeking a woman who is open-minded and willing to experience new and exciting things."
The other: " If you treat me like the princess I am, you would be surprised how open-minded I can be!"
Two totally different meanings here, I think! | |

It's amusing that male bashers are actually revealing their own personal relationship experiences. A glimpse into their trash bin. And they don't realize it.
For them it's not possible that there are quality men because they either can't attract them or really don't really want them for some twisted reason or another.

Not being a woman..and not knowing the amount of experience we have with this phrase..I think it's not very nice of you to call us names..no one I saw said there weren't quality men...what they said was...the majority of men who use this phrase mean it in some kind of sexual reference...trust me...when you have talked to 100's of men in your online life, as a woman, then you tell me it's about "our" definition of open mindedness..before I got online I would have used the more commonly, reasonable definition myself..experience taught me otherwise.
And by the way...I attract plenty of "quality men"..but, those aren't the ones I'm talking about.
And I also object to you calling us trash collectors...
Don't be so sensitive...we aren't picking on you...we are talking about what the majority mean when they use it..just a fact...every time someone comments on what some do..the ones that don't take it personally? | |

But it's also about being creative with love and romance. An open minded woman is also one who isn't quick to judge or doesn't give you a chance because of whatever assumption she makes about you. In that case there are a lot of close minded women on here that I've encountered but fortunately a few very nice women that are good friends...

But on a more intelligent, (open minded level!), I don't think there is anything wrong with having an open mind about ideas others want to present to you or you to them. To me, it simply means hearing them out and making up my own mind as to whether I want to accept or reject what they are saying. Being open-minded does not necessarily mean you have to do, believe or be swayed by someone elses beliefs, thoughts or desires. | |

Explore different avenues, willingness to engage in new activities, open to new learning and experiences in all areas--relationally, culturally, ethnically, sexually, geographically, intellectually, and not closed and limited.
The best way to find out what someone means by the use of "open-minded women" is to ask them. Each will have a different construct of how they are using the phrase.

I can't be with someone who paints to world with a very broad bush while never leaving their little comfort zone. I see open minded as the opposite of closed minded and some of the examples I have ran into of closed-minded is thinking like...
- all republicans/democrats/muslims/christians/blacks/etc all act a certain way, no exceptions.
- the USA is responsible for all that is good in the world and other cultures offer nothing of value.
- People with different values or lifestyles are wrong, evil or immoral.
- a very conservative outlook on relationships, sex, gender roles, etc.
- a unwillingness to learn about other cultures. | |

But since assuming makes an ass out of me and u, I just plainly ASK! "What do you mean open minded? What are you thinking about there so I don't misunderstand?" If we are in a quiet diner and he is sitting next to me and whispering in my ear and my blood is all flowing to a particular part of my body and all I'm imagining is a night of great sex, well.... then I assume we better talk so there is no surprises I don't want once we have our clothes off. BTW, the nice thing about this whole cyber dating thing, is that you get to get to know someone and their interest BEFORE you meet. No huge surprises ..... hopefully! | |
