as psychological. I`m kind of fed up with the games and the jerks, getting cynical
about men`s motives, and to be truthful, as I age, am not finding men in my age category that I find attractive. Alot of people with baggage and issues, bad attitudes,
cranky and out of shape. So I`m just not finding the stimulus to "get me going."
I`m definitely in a rut. but this is the first time in my life that I actually fantasize about being held and cuddling, just as much as I do sex. I guess I am wanting companionship and depth as opposed to just sex. I would like a partner, but at this age, it`s so scary
to meet anyone, sometimes you just give up. It`s easier. | |

Posted: 4/29/2008 7:30:44 PM | At almost 47, I haven't lost mine yet - thank God! I can't foresee that ever happening unless things weren't working out with a hoped for S.O. It would be difficult to be intimate with him if things weren't going well in the rest of the relationship.

I'm guessing right around the time that their Significant Other grows a spare tire, his blood pressure goes through the roof, he acquires type 2 diabetes and he now needs the help of the pharmamceutical industry to keep his motor running in bed. At which point you begin to worry if he'll have a cornonary during the act and fall dead on you subsequently smothering you as well !!! LOL!! Suddenly it's gone!!

Posted: 4/29/2008 10:54:44 PM | I don't think it had much to do with age. The only times I've had a dip in my sex drive had more to do with issues with my partner than anything else. If I was feeling disrespected, or neglected, or put down or anything of the sort, that definitely had an effect. In a good relationship? It's never been a problem.
That being said, a friend that has a few years on me (I'm 29) keeps telling me the best is yet to come. I'm actually looking forward to my thirties for many reasons! | |

Ummm your only 29...your sex drive is just starting...
Menopause usually doesn't occur until your early 50's -- like periods (so I understand) every woman is affected differently. But basically you should try and have as much sex as you can while the getting is good.
You do sort of look like my mothers Aunt Myrtle.

As I understand, it's like a period, it affects every woman differently. My mom went through menopause in her late 40's and it changed her in not so good ways. My aunty's on the other hand I didn't notice any significant changes except maybe whiskers on the chin.
As for sex drive...you'd have to ask my old man and my uncles cause I lived in a normal household not a polygamist ranch...  | |

Posted: 5/3/2008 7:10:41 AM | Peak, smeak !!! Some of us have the peak all our lives !!! Some of us never seem to loost the "wanting" to or the ability. I personally think it's much better now. But that might have to do with my SO. I've never lost it, by the way. It was just a little dormant with an exhusband that was only wanting himself pleased. The old addage..." It takes two" really does apply. A good lover makes a good lover !!!
