Posted: 8/31/2008 9:36:39 PM | Art is intended expression. Is transmitting thoughts, emotions, circumstances through a particular creative venue, from the creator's perception to the receiver's interpretation.
According to Bukowski, and artist is that who can say a difficult thing in a simple way. Not an easy task! The artist's mind might be complex, but his work must be effective in communicating. | |

Posted: 9/2/2008 3:56:44 AM | I'd say it was creatively expressing one's emotions or feelings, not just the expression part.
Punching someone in the face expresses anger pretty simply, but it's not creative, so it's not art.
Writing an aggressive song, on the other hand, is creative so that would count as art. | |

i love painting outside scenery. and inside things as well..instead of do
alot of my art comes from my happyness yeeeyy..it just feels so free...when ever i see others painting faces or people it just amazes me how they can do it( Icant even draw they eyes right lol) i wanna know how so bad..mabey im trying the wrong movements..mabey i gotta be more free flowing with my hand? | |

Posted: 9/5/2008 8:30:05 PM | To me my art is photography. The light and the colors can change rapidly within seconds. The best photos I've taken aren't posed or set up. You just assess, and pick the best time to shoot them.
Also I'm into music very much, it's a passion like my photography. Dance too, to me it's an expression of art somewhat. | |

Posted: 9/9/2008 1:11:17 PM | | Sorry I didn't read through all these posts thoroughly, but I agree with Marcel Duchamp that art is the idea or concept and not a matter of beauty or talent. Of course, the artist should have the ability to competently execute his/her idea in putting it into concrete form. I don't think expressing an emotion, in itself, is art. I think it's art when the artist makes a statement about the emotion, not merely expresses it. Even when a painter, as an example, uses color to convey an emotion, I think he/she is making the statement (and discovery) that color has the intrinsic power to convey emotion. | |

it is asthetically pleasing and evokes emotions.
painting, drawing, sculpting, music, writing, film making, photography, interior decorating, gardening, woodworking, architecture, metal shaping, hair styling, make-up artistry, acting ,the list goes on.
there are so many ways for a person to use their skills to create a profound image and leave a lasting impression. | |
