i was amazed at how beautifull she is and still remember her sexiness from her Dallas days..uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmm happy memories indeed.
i was absolutely gone and bowled over by this incredibly sexy lady, her voice, her hair style and colour and her pretty face and lovely skin was way too much for me....i was very much in love for just a few minutes,,,,,,,,,,,absolute pleasure to sit and drool over such a very sexy American lady.
a lady indeed.
now some one is gonna mail and say she isnt American.......but she is, isnt she.
anyway never mind if she isnt, i dont care if she was born on the moon she was and still is absolutely GORGEOUS and i would have her any day..mmmmmmmmmmmm. | |

It's one of two things, either someone who makes judgments based on a very limited quantity of actual first-hand experiences or someone who's ignorant. Either way it's someone I'd say toodles to really quick.  | |

Posted: 1/3/2008 3:23:00 AM | I think its just the grass is greener syndrome. An unsuccessful man's wish to be worshipped by his partner to compensate for how underappreciated he feels about himself. Rather than look inward, its easier to blame half the gender of their country.
The American men who've hit on me (Canadian) that say they prefer us over American woman said it was because of reasons they themselves are often guilty of. We find the behavior distasteful too. Hence, why alot of these guys get rejections from us too.
They have this sense of entitlement despite not being able to step up to the plate in real life. Being further away just gives them more time to try to fool a woman into liking them. | |

Just FYI, toots, I have been abroad MANY times and have lived abroad ( in Italy) in an artist-in-residence program. I got along famously with European women and found them truly fascinating. You would be the first disagreeable foreign-born woman I have encountered thus far in my life, and please allow me to inform you just how unpleasant an experience it is. Your assumption that all or even most of American women can't find their home state ( and other ludicrous anti-American women claims you make) on a map is not just insulting but preposterous.
Ipsas Loquitor...you CLEARLY have an axe to grind with American women, and as an American woman who is FIERCELY proud of what we have accomplished in this country for women's rights the world over, who finds American Women among the very finest humans in the world and the very backbone of this nation, I find your acrid remarks offensive to the highest degree. And if SOME of the American men posting here don't take you to task for it, that's THEIR bad and shame on them.
This is not an intelligent, fact-based argument you are making, but the rant of a resentment-ridden harpy. I have not, at any time, put down foreign-born women. You, however, keep upping the ante, making your "comments" even more caustic and derogatory to not just myself personally, but all American Women.
I am unsure what certifies YOU as a holier-than-thou expert on American Culture /Women's Studies & Education, but I for one am fed up with your anti-American Woman posturing. Are you a Sociologist ?? An Anthropologist maybe ?? A degree in American Women's Studies, perhaps ?? Or are you just a bigoted loud-mouth with an accent ??? If we are so terribly offensive to you, perhaps you may want to consider re-locating to one of the other two countries you lived in, hmmm ??? I am sure they'd be just delighted to welcome back someone of your obvious breeding and class and superior intellect. :)
I am not responding to any more of your vitriol, snooks, so don't bother. Clearly, having an intelligent conversation with you is an oxymoronic proposition.
PS--you may want to get hold of an American history book and look up the names Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton,Victoria Woodhull, Clara Barton, Florence Nightingale, Eleanor Roosevelt,Lucretia Mott, Catherine Beecher,Belva Lockwood,Anne Sullivan, Helen Keller, Georgia O'Keefe, Elizabeth Barrett Browning,Susanna Salter,Amelia Earhart, Florence Sabin, Sandra Day O'Connor......
-and countless hundreds more American Women.......poor things, they somehow managed to overcome thier inability to find their state on a map and make history with their life-changing accomplishments anyhow. It is a rich tradition in our country, one you could obviously stand to learn a great deal more about. We have a history as women in this nation which your nasty little diatribe cannot demean, no matter how much conviction & bitterness you pour into it.
Oh--and as for my European friends, re: your ugly remarks about their learning to "sweep floors" ??? One is a physician, a radiologist, kinda doubt she does much floor-sweeping; one is a journalist who has travelled the world in her work, not alot of brooms required for that; another is a internationally published author who has won many awards for her distinguished work and career. I suspect the only woman in this conversation needing a broom is yourself.
I invested the time I have to defend my kind herein...and I don't need to repeat it. I am done with you. You ought to be deeply ashamed for the things you have said here, but I kinda doubt you are capable of that much self-effacing character. Yes, some have qualities I don't appreciate, but being a citizen of the free world I make the personal choice to not let myself be consumed with stereotype and go on pursuing man's greatest joy anyway. LOL.
If a guy wants a partner in life American women are ideal, they come already empowered. If a guy wants a woman walking a few steps behind him throughout life he'll look beyond the developed world. Doesn't mean he'll find what he is looking for wherever he looks. One stereotype of "foreign" women here I will appreciatively note is the Asiatic tradition of positive, not negative sexual and relational reinforcement. All too many of you try and equate this with submission. It may have its roots in submission but in the modern world it has been my experience that empowered Asian women understand a benefit in having sex and life be reciprocative and rewarding instead of the witholding sex or reciprocation as punitive or vengeful. Serial killers aside positivity is generally a far more persuasive motivator than negativity unless you're OK with getting things done cause its just easier for him to get er done and go on hating whatever part of you the negativity cultivates. Not all American women have an alacrity to employ negative reinforcement but it is arguably the dominant theme in this aspect of our culture.
I've been all over the world. Despite media propogated stereotypes the human animal can have the same propensity for self absorption wherever we are. As Bucs noted limiting yourself by nationality let alone any other arguably arbitrary label is in the end counterproductive to actually meeting and coming to love another human being.
So date Asian...Americans. Date European...Americans. Date...Sub Saharan African... Americans... Just date a woman for who she is, not what you expect her to be. | |

The Corvette is 95% of a Lamborghini, at a small fraction of the price. Only Chevrolet could build such a car and price it so that upper-average income people could afford it.
Anyone can build a Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and sell it at a huge price. Chevrolet did put the engine in front, to keep things interchangable to some degree and reduce design costs. Engines should be mid-ship or rearward, but after years of tweaking, the Corvette is a monster, at (semi) popular prices.

I've met many Englishmen who prefer American women to English women "because American women are more appreciative." Apparently, Englishwomen have been spoiled by the rampant chivalry of Englishmen, and thusly expect a higher degree of decorum and are less amazed by feats such as a man holding a door for them, tipping a hat to them, or a man who holds their arm while maneuvering around mud-puddles.
I'm starting to envy my friends who date Brits. One friend's British date paid for drinks and dinner for our entire table and said sweetly, "Cheers to my new American friends." Us ladies could have died of envy (of the guy's date) and of shock that such a nice guy actually existed.
At the end of the night, we gathered around him, practically falling all over ourselves. Was he a good-looking guy? No. He was gangly with an unfortunate nose and buck teeth. But he possessed a charm we American girls had never seen in our LIVES. He chatted up the scowling Brooklynese taxi driver, who ended up engaging in a long discussion about British politics with him. He said, "Please excuse me" when walking past someone on the subway--and the people actually smiled and moved over. He had British pride but was also admiring of our culture. We had a big group of girls there, and he ignored not one girl, from the prettiest to the ugliest, complimenting everyone and discussing a range of topics while still remaining attentive to his date. He treated everyone he met with respect, from the lady at the Tower Records cash register to the waitress to his girlfriend to his girlfriend's friends to the conductor of the train.
We were amazed. Absolutely amazed. And at the end of the night, we told him this. He looked puzzled and bemused and said, "How else should I be expected to act?"
Well, he didn't belch once. He didn't slam a door in anyone's face. He didn't say, "Pony up, ladies" at the end of dinner (AND HE WASN'T EVEN OUR DATE). He did not paw his date. He did not hit on his date's friends. He didn't even groan when we tried on clothes at Urban Outfitters. In retrospect, we were so amazed because he acted exactly like the man we've been told exists but never met. I have met other British men, and been equally astounded.
It's fine and good if American men want foreign women, but why be surprised with the American woman's constant enchantment with men from Europe? Personally, I'd be in heaven if I could manage to meet a nice British guy for myself who actually knows how to treat a lady (and the rest of humanity) right. | |

As with most generalizations, there is almost always a falling off point, a place at which that supposition cannot apply; I am delighted for you that you met and enjoyed such a sweetheart Brit, but I was married to a Brit many years ago and trust me, Sugar, it ain't all tea and crumpets. LOL
The guy you met suddenly became representative of entire nation's gender because he was the only one you have experience with; glad he was decent & charming, but who knows if you really got to know him over time...?
I think the thing is about excellence in the individual as opposed to focusing on one nationality or age group or trait, you know ? I bet there are hundreds of American guys out here who'd love to meet and woo a pretty girl like yourself..or Italian guys, or French guys,whatever....we always are fascinated by the novelty of something new, and usually learn after the shine wears off that it really isn't all that different from the status quo.
I wish you all the best in your search...and if a Brit will make you truly happy, then I hope one falls across your path soon~

I wouldn't want a man to date or not date me based on the fact that I was an American...or a redhead....a southerner...blah, blah. I've learned at an early age, and grew up embracing and celebrating diversity and had a very enriched life. I honestly wouldn't want to live in an environment, a neighborhood, where everyone was like me. Some people are so sheltered in their comfort zone, only accept their ethnic, religious...etc..counterparts. Wouldn't suit me. | |

For example women make money but who is expected to pay for dates, vacations, gifts, and holidays such as anneversiries and valentine's days.
We are supposed to help in the cooking and cleaning but when do women ever help their men when laying out bricks, plumbing, shoveling.
In bed we are supposed to please you , but you don't have to care about our pleasure.
We have to hug you and give you emotional support but not expect that in return. | |

My father went over seas and brought back my mother (Asian) she was quiet and submissive and a dream come true... (that was) only because she didn't speak good english. NOW SHE'S AMERICANIZED.
Women are the same no matter what country they come from.
Now she's the americanized woman, and she don't play! Haha SHES the BOSS. GO MOM!
I also have heard of women playing the roll from other countries and take the guy for everything, just to get their papers. Sad but true. | |

My point was that woman , from Europe, Asia, America, basically everywhere are the same inside their minds and hearts. When I spoke about women becoming americanized, I only ment that they became a stronger more independant woman .
In some countries women aren't even granted education, before their brothers.
I think it's horrible that men would even think about going to another country to bring back a submissive wife. If you go into parts of asia they will try to sell your their daughters to marry, because they are starving and can't support their children.
Why would anyone really even think about finding love under such circumstaces? | |

Posted: 5/3/2008 4:34:33 PM | I remember going to school with a young girl from Vietnam. I usually found her in the break room with her head on the table sobbing.
I decided to befriend her.
Her story was pretty sad, she was basically a slave to her mother-in-law and her husband was cruel. Her only hope was to finish school so she could run away. She was crying everyday because her mother-in-law frequently threatened to keep her home and not allow her to attend.
Her only salvation was a small inheritance from her own mother that paid her tuition.
I dont know what happened to her, but I hope she was able to graduate and escape. | |
