Both of these breeds of dogs get hot easily and normally have short life spans in Missouri because of the heat and have to have cold water to drink. Yeah and they drink a lot of water. Try having 3 Rotts and your female weighs 185lbs and has a chest so broad she walks with her legs some what turned in and is so big she bounces when she barks. Yeah trying to keep that many waterbowls that big filled with cold water 24/7 when they are inside dogs trust me I tried, and I would be at the sink filling them up probably every half hour. Of course now I have a beagle that should be declared mentally retarded because this dog I love her to death and so does my son but she is the dumbest dog I have ever had in my life lol. | |

Posted: 8/5/2008 7:33:02 AM | You know those gallon tubs of ice cream...the cheap vanilla, chocolate, variety ones? Keep the empties, fill them half full with water and freeze. Then add water and it stays cold throughout the day. Whenever I have to leave my Husky outside for an extended amount of time, I just fill up a clean mop bucket, and add ice! :) Another alternative to keeping pets water cold...and this is only if you do not have a pet who will chew everything...those cooler ice thingies...plop one in their water bowl!
When we had AC problems, we kept an entire house cold for a full day by plopping one of those in a metal container of water with a fan in front of it!
Thats another thing...stainless steel bowls keep water colder, longer...it's all I use for Zoe....who drinks a ton of water, as well!
I also have two kitties...and they love to hop in the tub or sink to try and nab water from the faucets! And my oldest cat who is now at my daughters...will NOT drink out of a bowl...only the sink! LOL | |

I think I know WHY I am single, finally!!! Bless you, Shell for starting this thread and allowing me the realization....that I do so many of these things when I am NOT single, it is no wonder I AM single! ;)

I don't drink beer ! So now what do I do , should I start !!!!!!!!!!
All kidding aside , there are pros and cons to being single !
But I do enjoy doing MY OWN thing and when I want to, and not having to answer to anyone , wow , that is a PLUS !!!!
But on the flip side it would be nice to have a steady relationship , I miss the frienship and companionship of a good guy !
But until I find MY GOOD GUY, I am going to party my azz off , beer or no beer !

I can hog the covers at night.
Drink milk from the carton.
Not make my bed .
Do the laundry when I run out of clean clothes.
But I do miss the snuggling......oh well | |
