Especially when somebody lives hundreds of miles away and starts to talk serious. When I was much younger I didnt reconize the signs... and now that Im older, well I often question why a person might openly state they prefer to meet people from very far away. | |

Date #1: We went through a drive-thru, picked up a hot drink and went and sat down by the pier listening to his stereo and talking for about 4 hours. It was very nice. We have talked a few times since and he has asked me out again but I was busy those times. Unfortunately when I was available awhile later and called him I think he had gotten the impression I wasn't interested in him... will have to see how it goes. ;)
Date #2: Wonderful date. He held my hand the entire night, took me for dinner, went for an evening stroll by the Falls, a drive and then back to my place for conversation (*just* conversation.) We had a lovely time. He made a date for 2 days later but it fell through. Unfortunately I later caught him in some lies and had to bust his a***. ;)

Posted: 10/6/2004 7:11:54 AM | Yes, things went well on the first meeting about 2 weeks ago, although I was somewhat nervous, but then after a initial email message saying she enjoyed the time, I didn't hear from her again (although midway in that timeframe she read the initial letter I sent two days after we first met in response to her letter saying she had a good time), so after five days I sent a email asking if she was o.k., and she responded sounding almost like she was upset at me for asking (turns out she was sick and had a little car accident all in that timespan)...it was almost like, well sorry for asking!
On the other hand, it seems like most of the responses I get are from ones that I don't picture myself compatible with, so I'm thinking about leaving the online dating scene, though I haven't made my mind up yet one way or another. | |

I could see myself ending up best friends with him, but that was it. The second, well, I am now dating him steadily and looking toward a future. We seem to have the same goals and thoughts and both agreed to take it slow which is the only way to go in any relationship. Just be careful, don't take them home with you...lol. And, watch your back. But think positively. Hope it works for you. | |

My husband had an alleged female friend that he spent every night with for a month, but still expected me to buy that they were just friends....lol. Hickeys and all...lol. I can laugh about it now, but the pain was very real and just one of the reasons why I am working on my freedom. No one in a committed relationship should be spending the night with someone of the opposite sex. Trust is not the issue, stupidity is. If for no other reason than respect for you she should not have done that, or even considered it. Hope you find someone who will do you better.... | |

Other than that, just talking to different people.... on here, on the local chatline, etc. 2 of the guys I met on the chatline and haven't spoken to for a couple months or so just contacted me this week and acted like nothing was wrong.... strange. ;) hehe

The POF'r didn't call me till 4:30 today and I already made plans for tonight with someone else. Howeverrrrrrrr the second fellow has a history of being irresponsible so not sure whether that will go through or not. :)
