I've met a few (in person) from dating online... I know you were asking 'MALES'... but thought I'd toss in my opinion...
i've heard many stories of women / men chatting for HOURSSSSSSSS... then WEEEEEEEKS... and still not meeting. (I'm talking about close proximatey here not long distance) anyway.. I don't understand why ppl prolong meeting ... why spend so much time online/msn or phone get to know each other...why not meet after a few conversations instead of draggin it out ?
I don't get it either.. it's a waste of time...
Personally I talk a few times on msn and If we seem to 'click'... we both suggest a 1/2 way meeting point in a public place and take it from there...
However.. if it's long distance well thats a whole other story lol

His name was Bruce and surprisingly, after the shock wore off and with a little adjustment, the experience really wasn't all that bad. I mean, although uncomfortable, we were both polite enough to at least go through with the date and surprisingly, we had a great time. In fact, it was the most successful date I've had so far off a dating site! We still stay in touch. | |

I've met ladies here that have become wonderful and true friends. If this page was long enough I would list them all. | |

Posted: 5/18/2005 3:01:48 AM | I very rarely meet anyone on here. In most cases, as of late...I'd get women that friggin talk my ear off on the phone. Sometimes 2 hours at a time....then when it comes to meeting, they make up some sort of lame excuse not to meet.
I am lucky if I meet someone from online more than 2 times a year. | |

Thank you. You are sweet to say that, but no, I do not receive all that much mail at all. When I first signed onto here, I did get quite a bit, I figured it was because I was a new fish in the pond. I sent out a few myself, but well only one that I sent actually materialized into chatting, but I don't mind, he is a great guy and well I am hopeful of meeting him here one day soon.  | |

He was everything I had hoped for and more. Unfortunately the few years we spent together were cut short when God called him home early. I was with my ex for about 4½ years and got to know her online. I'd met her once in person through a mutual friend (my roomate at the time) and then started talking to her online all the time. After a few months of that, my business partner bought out my half of the business and I'd moved up here to TBay with her. Things were good for over 4 years, but then we just started drifting apart. Mainly cause of her issues with her parents she refused to deal with.. Was always a problem between us and I guess I just had enough of it.
Anyhow, now that I've sorta gone off topic there.. You can meet people off sites, I know I have. I would suggest though that nobody set there expectations too high, especially for guys. The ratio of men to women isn't exactly even and so women will probably tend to have a higher success rate than men. | |
