| HELP!!! Posted: 4/18/2008 3:33:03 PM | | Kasie, if you look at the back there will be an area with a lot of slots in it that is the power supply fan area feel if there is any air moving out of those with the PC running. Let me know what model Dell you have and I will see what I can find. But it probably is not just an unplug and plug in a new one if it's the power supply, close but not quite. | |

| HELP!!! Posted: 4/19/2008 3:51:29 PM | Thanks for the info Steve. I booted it up and there is very little air coming from anywhere in the back. I can't hear anything either. The very top in the back has ever so slightly a bit of air blowing in the back. Its a dell dimension desktop 8200. Any info you can throw my way helps...thanks a lot

| HELP!!! Posted: 4/19/2008 6:29:53 PM | Kasie After some research it could be your CPU fan or the case fan, from what I have been reading you can get them on Ebay, but as usual Dells parts are not the norm and you take the chance of getting something that will not work, so ordering from Dell may be the best idea. You would need to call Dell tech support, and thats never an enjoyable thought even for us PC support types. Sorry wish I had better news. | |

| HELP!!! Posted: 4/19/2008 8:30:06 PM | | My son had that problem with his computer and no money to fix it so he took the desk fan and pointed at the back of the computer and just kept it running day and night. Worked just fine til he was able to save the cash up to get the fan. It was all about keep it cooled down. | |

| Off the wall thought Posted: 4/21/2008 5:19:28 PM | And I do have a lot of those...LOL But, I was sitting and thinking about an accident my son just recently had. I had bought him an item to use outside and everything went SNAFU. When we were in the store buying this item, he had wished that a friend of his that was in a foster care family could get one. Well, to make a long story short, I got to thinking how many of us usually actually think of giving on a mass scale at Christmas time, but things go back to normal afterwards.
Well, here's my thought. I was thinking about seeing if anyone was interested in having a event/fundraiser for summer items for children that live at Franklin County Children Services. As you probably know, their budget is tight and use monies for services such as clothing, counceling, and basic living supplies for the kids.
What if we got together and donated gently used skateboards, bikes, basketballs, baseballs and bats, water guns, and any other fun toy that they can play with outside. This is the time of year when these children don't have school work to keep them occupied, and they need something to do.
I don't know if this is a complete off the wall thought, but a thought nonetheless. I have not contacted FCCS about this because I wanted to run this past you first. Any thoughts?

| Off the wall thought Posted: 4/21/2008 7:04:00 PM | | Well I would offer to help on this idea Mystic but my schedule with school and work now will not allow it. However I do have all my contacts with teh radio stations and so forth from the canned food drive and I could offer suggetions on how I did all that for anyoen that wants to volunteer. It si allot of hard work, but its well worth it in the end. | |

| Off the wall thought Posted: 4/23/2008 8:33:39 AM | | Due to the lack of interest here, my family and I have decided to do something on our own. Thanks anyways. | |

| Off the wall thought Posted: 4/23/2008 9:15:31 AM | | Lisa I would not get discouraged. I could never say that us fishes would be ones to not help with such a cause. I remember all the outpouring with the canned food drive. I would make a separate thread, that is just about that and I know you will get support. | |

| What Up!!!! Posted: 5/7/2008 9:53:55 AM | Okay, now I have to ask for help.
Apparently I still have one surgery to go on this knee and it appears that it will be the last one if I am lucky.
Here is where I could use the help.
I have a large 3 to 4 year fixed female Calico cat that I need to find a new home for. She is a great cat it is just that she is not getting the care or the attention that she deserves with all this going on with me. I love her to death but I feel that she is getting short changed and would like to place her in a home where she can get all the attention that she needs.
I can provide pictures of her and you are more than welcome to come meet her, but she is shy of new people at first so we might have to get her out from under the bed.
If anyone is interested let me know. She will come with all supplies and toys and a bag of food. She was recently fully vetted.
Thanks everyone. | |

| Free to Good Home - Red Tabby Cat Posted: 5/11/2008 11:20:18 AM | | Seeking a good home with kids for a 15yrs. old neutered male red tabby cat. He is house broken, and has no front claws. If interested, then e-mail me. | |
|
| Free to Good Home - Red Tabby Cat Posted: 5/16/2008 6:05:54 AM | | Bobbie, any luck with your cat? what about your knee? i'm highly allergic sweetie or i'd let the kids torture your beloved cat in our home. | |
|
| Free to Good Home - Red Tabby Cat Posted: 5/16/2008 10:38:38 AM | Yes, actually. A friend's parents have a couple of older cats, (one is like 13 and very sick, so they are thinking that she is going to have to be put to sleep), so they took her. I just know that she will get the care that she deserves there and I am happy with the placement.
The knee is a different story altogether. I could be looking at another two surgeries to get it straightened out. I will know more after I see the joint replacement specialist. That appointment is for the 4th of June, but they are trying to get me in sooner.
It will all depend on what his opinion is as to what happens from there. Right now I am just glad that I have what I have.

| Angefish help Posted: 5/25/2008 4:16:09 PM | Anybody know about fixing a roof leak. I have water stains in my skylight and a leak going clear across my ceiling on two different studs. The stains are in the ceiling also. I have cathedral ceilings with two skylights... | |
|
| Angefish help Posted: 5/25/2008 4:31:02 PM | | Sounds like the sky lights are leaking for sure. You need a good roofing company to fix this. I would avoid a handyman. Could be bad flashing around the skylight? Could be all shingles leaking? Call someone that fixes roofs for a living as the damage inside the house will become great if you do not fix the roof. I assume your ceiling has a textured finish? Once the ceiling is damaged you need a plaster person. The damage will only get worse. Get someone good. Pay alot now or much much more later. | |

More than likely it is the flashing around the skylights, but somebody is going to need to get up on the roof. From the ground you should be able to see if any roofing shingles are missing or have shifted out of place. For the stains inside, unless the drywall is drooping or has turned mush, you will need to buy a stain blocker/primer product such as KILZ prior to painting over the stains.

Take the side panel off the computer, don't worry about the electricity, aside from the power supply, everything else fairly low DC power. If you can't decide which fan is making the sound then gentle push your finger on to the center of each fan, the fan will stop and if the noise goes away remove that fan. Don't leave your finger on the fan for more than a second or two(so that you don't damage the fan).
