| Angefish help Posted: 1/8/2008 9:02:43 PM | ok, i know my estrogen is showing here, but....................
i've got about a 4-5 inch long black plastic elbow coming from the garbage disposal to white pvc drain pipe on a double basin sink. they were connected with what i would describe as a pvc "nut". the connection has come lose.
question a) will i need plumbers putty, pvc glue or do they need to be sweated?
question b) should there have been a gasket that i need to replace?
help, i'm feeling stupid
|
| Angefish help Posted: 1/8/2008 11:14:49 PM | If I remember correctly, and it could be very well that I don't, you shouldn't have to do more than hand tighten that.
Don't sweat pvc pipe. It will not only melt but it can release toxic fumes into the house.
I wouldn't use plumber's putty on it either.

| CAR<<< Posted: 1/13/2008 2:13:31 PM | | Does anyone know how to change the plugs, wires and stuff in a Honda CRV... and willing to do it for a reasonable rate? | |
|
| CAR<<< Posted: 1/13/2008 2:28:22 PM | Define "stuff". If all you need is a tuneup then that should be relatively easy.
If it goes beyond that there might be specialty tools involved.
|
| DVD Posted: 1/13/2008 4:42:57 PM | | Momofanangel: Just so happens that I've got about 35-40 ft of Cat5....just dug it out of my electronics junk box. Worked fine when I was using it on my wired network...been wireless for a year now so you're welcome to it. 3 sections, there's one connector attached...not sure where the other one went, but they're like $3 at Radio Shack. If you want it, email me and tell me where to send it. | |

| DVD Posted: 1/15/2008 11:47:29 PM | Thanks Racecarfan but I am lucky to be allowed out of the house without supervision these days. Usually that is only to do things that can't be done after his working hours.
I was going to get a friend to do it for her. He is a really good mechanic, and usually can fit stuff like this in after work or on the weekends. I know he wouldn't charge her an arm and a leg and the small farm in Texas to do it either.
I even called him about it, but he is backed up with work so I don't know when he would be able to. I just hadn't gotten the chance to get back here and post to her about it.

| Tune Up Posted: 1/18/2008 7:38:23 AM | Silver, Thanks for calling your friend, Unfortunatly it was bad enough I had to take it in to get done, I had lost over 100 miles to each tank of gas! It was misfiring badly. Racefan... I used to work on cars a bit but did not have the tools or the time to really mess with trying this one. It worked out.
Have a great weekend all. T~T
