I would date someone with a pitbull, but that's all. If the relationship progressed, he would have to get rid of it, because I have 2 Siamese cats that I love, and could never part with.
If I were dating you and you pulled that on me you would lose as you would lose if you had a problem with my guns. I f don't own a pit but I have been bitten by more cats and old women's little schnauzers as well as other little lap dogs. Never been bit by a pit bull, a rottweiler, a shepard, a doberman or a mastiff.

Um.........Tell me that you are not comparing a Siamese cat to a Pitt bull dog? Don't believe I've ever picked up the paper or turned on the news to hear of a Siamese cat mulling a child to death. There is a reason that this breed of dod is banned in some states. Duhhhhhhhhh.
They are banned because ignorant stupid little scared people have probably never even been around one. Are there bad pits? Yes there are some that turn out bad but I blame the owners for making them that way. Just like the Presa Canario got a bad name from the idiots in California pits and other large dogs get a bad rap because of bad owners. Dogs are great judges of character as well, if you had a bad experience with one they probably saw you for who you really are. My mom had a poodle that was viscous, he bit a lot of people including me and he would bite whoever was holding him to go after a child except for mom, lets ban them all.

This runs contrary to the known qualities and reputation of the breed. Labs are used as guide and service dogs, in fact, are the first choice for dogs who do such work. This dog may be a mixed breed, has been or is being abused, or there may be another reason. In anycase, after years and years, generations, of this breed being the most popular breed among families in the US and Britain, it is more likely that this particular dog is the exception and not the rule.
Labs are one of two of the bigger breeds I have been bitten by, the other was a golden retreiver. I have been bitten by several labs. I also had a lab chase me on roller blades and try to attack me. His owner thought it was funny and would not get the dog. I was the last person the dog went after. Animal control put it down on the spot as it went after one of them, they shot it in the street.
I'm sure there is a story like this for every breed of dog there is. Any dog can turn, even a yorkie.

I have been around pits my entire life, and own one now, and have never come across a mean pit.

I always show it that I am Alpha Male, and then we get along well together. People who own pit bulls are usually either macho morons who want to scare/harm others, or fraidy cats who want protection. The tragedies with pit bulls comes from the dogs not being properly trained. It also happens with other breeds which are not properly trained. I have a rule of life. If a dog attacks me, or mine, the dog dies...along with it's owner. I let dog owners near me-particularly pit bull owners near me-know this. It is amazing how well even pit bulls behave around me.

If someone considered not dating me because I owned a pitbull, that is someone I would never want to date anyways. quit listening to media hype. I have been around pits my entire life, and own one now, and have never come across a mean pit I had a mean pit. Had to get rid of him. He wasn't mean because of him being a pit though, he was mean because the family we got him from when the bank foreclosed on their house mistreated him. THey just left him behind when they moved out and we took him. As we began treating him nice, the glassy stares became replaced with angry attempts to bite that grew more and more serious. My German shepherd began controlling the situation and I began taking my G17 outside with me every time I was near the dog. He needed to go, and it made me very sad that a few excuses for human beings had ruined such a magnificant animal. However, saying all pits are bad because of him would be like saying all people are bad because of his owners.
I know another guy that breeds them and his dogs are great with kids and everyone else.
